Recently I've been a somewhat absent student due to a very busy period in my life but with weekend workshops and various classes throughout the week I still manage to enjoy their company. If you go at weekends, there's often bands or solo artists playing very mellow jazz, pop or acoustic music too. In the winter, it's too cold to really sit on the grass and take in the wonder of the Royal Pavillion but in the spring and summer, the gardens are usually flowing with locals and tourists sunbathing, chatting or reading the papers. There's deckchairs dotted around for comfort and several different areas where you can just lounge on the grass. The cafe here also does a good trade selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks. There are a wide range of evening courses and weekend workshops, with prices hovering around the £80 mark for a ten week course - roughly equivalent to council run adult ed courses. I came however, for the drop in yoga session. Quite apprehensive, having never done yoga before, I crept up the stairs to an airy and comfortable room, with a friendly, welcoming teacher. Despite my lack of experience, I never felt out of place. I'd certainly be interested in trying some of the other courses here.
