Came here debating on upgrading my Equinox membership to include the Destination Locations with…read morePacific Palisades really being the Prized Location among the others like the Sports Club or Century City. First the negatives: The Parking isn't terrible but it will slow you down and take up your "time limit" of 2.5 hrs, You have to drive slooooow. The spaces are all compact, I drive a Model Y and it was tight in the curves to go between floors and the parking spaces. There is only one elevator but I believe you can access the parking levels by taking the stairs or entering from different floors. The water pressure is very weak in the water fountains and the showers. I saw some complaints about accessing different rooms but it wasn't bad at all it's like 20 feet and if it's raining you shouldn't really notice if you're already wet from sweat. If you are afraid of water then not sure what to tell you, you may want to spend your membership money on help with that. Equinox is notorious for stairs and although there are no stairs to go UP to the locker rooms like other locations there are stairs that go up to go inside the gym. Once inside the stairs either go down into the locker rooms or up between levels. You're at the gym, the stairs shouldn't be an issue for you, embrace the stairs, enjoy the stairs. Lastly it's a new gym and 2 of the cold plunges weren't working and the parking validation didn't work but was easily able to press a button, speak and view a live person on the screen and be granted access to leave. The positives: The Views are amazing, ease of access to be in or out of the gym if you wanted to take a walk in between sets to get some Sun. The equipment is all new and the gym is spotless. The crew were everywhere cleaning and making sure everything was stocked and on working order. The bathrooms were very nice but had limited stalls which wasn't a problem for me but could be an issue at some point. The showers, steam room and co-ed Sauna were dope. My conclusion, I'm upgrading my Membership and enjoying this location and all others. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

I recently made my way out to the newest Equinox location in Southern California because on their…read morewebsite it said this location opened on 12/20/24. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the front desk staff said they ran into some code issues that they were still working out with the city. However, they were nice enough to let me tour the club and here are my impressions. First off, being that will be a brand new club this would take over as the nicest Equinox location in Southern California. The club is spread out over 3 floors. You enter on the 2nd floor with direct access from the parking garage. More on that later. The aesthetics are very much in line with the current Equinox club aesthetic, albeit with brighter wood tones to emphasize its location right across from the beach and the Pacific Ocean. The 2nd floor has offices and the juice bar. Down the stairs to the first level is where the Men's and Women's locker rooms are as well as the new Recovery Area with a very large co-ed sauna and ice baths. It'll be interesting to see how this location handles the co-ed area. Up stairs to the 3rd floor and you see the requisite cardio area, free weights, one squat rack and machines. The cycling studio is on the side. Upon first glance, the layout of the weights floor felt like it was going to be a problem. It was very small and for a new gym to only have one set of free weights and one squat rack, that's going to be an issue, but upon further discovery there's a whole other section that you can access by going out onto the terrace covered in astroturf set up for weights and sled work and an outdoor stretching area around the corner. There was a larger room that had another cardio area, this time with numerous Woodway Treadmills as well as new weights, another rack of free weights, barbells, dumbbells, squat racks, Smith Machines, etc... The private pilates studio and group fitness studio are also located on this side. That said, I understand they were working with existing space, but it does feel odd to have separate rooms that you would have to access through exterior corridors rather than one unified space. I'm interested to see how this layout will handle weather and volume as there's no access to the locker facilities from the larger weights room. Parking is available underground with the entrance behind the building, but be careful as the ramp up and down were very narrow with numerous scrapes on the ramp walls. Parking for Equinox on the upper parking floors so that's nice, but the spaces are tight. Overall, I believe this is still considered a select location, but depending on how it does it might get bumped up to a SoCal All Access tier, but only time will tell.

Jen has a great ability to be encouraging, approachable, yet extremely effective. I had no idea how bad my form was until i realized how good it could be and how important that was to my training. I highly recommend her to all fitness levels and anyone who wants to improve strength, flexibility or mobility. I've trained with Jen in both one-on-one and group settings for about six months. I've always been an athlete but was feeling a bit unmotivated and a little unbalanced with my current routine. Jen's knowledge of fitness, yoga and anatomy helped me improve my form, strength and mobility. Many of the exercises targeted tiny imbalances that I would never have trained on my own. Due to my modern lifestyle, job, and general stress, Jen has helped me regain lost mobility in my neck, shoulders and hips. By teaching me how to relax overly tense muscles and fire underutilized muscles, my overall body began to move and feel better. This has helped me improve my athletic performance, lose a clothing size and become much stronger. No matter what your fitness goals are, Jen can help you reach the next level. I've seen her work with clients from all backgrounds, injuries and fitness levels and recommend her for everyone. I sent her some friends who never workout, did not have a good sense of fitness and were too afraid to start working out due to injury. She's got them completely motivated about fitness and has helped provide them with the tools they need to move their bodies safely and effectively. Jen will keep you challenged, mix it up and will never let you slack on quality form. Her workouts utilize many tools from body weight, free weights, kettle bells, gym equipment, etc. She always keeps it fresh and can adapt the workout depending on how your body is responding. Always a true professional, Jen goes above and beyond in helping her clients. My time with Jen has definitely been an investment in my health and I cannot thank her enough for how strong she makes me feel. I've trained with other individuals before, but Jen Dapper's definitely the real deal and the only one I've sent friends and family to.

This location is larger than the others so it's really spacious. At the SM location I've trained with Martine, Conrad, and Sean and, as usual, all are well trained, know their shit, pay attention, and are fantastic trainers! They keep you motivated. And it's great taking classes from different trainers because each one will give you a little tip that will land different for everyone. So something small, a slight adjustment, might change the way you do a lift for the better. Another reason I love this place. It's not cheap but it's worth it and so are you! No better $ spent than on your health!

Clean facilities and everybody gets their own squat rack for an hour. Time is our most precious non renewable resource in our hectic lives. To get in a full body workout without waiting to share equipment and not spend any mental energy and time programming my workouts makes this membership a great value. 2. It's not HIIT, it's pure strength training using barbells and dumbbells. With 2-3 minutes of rest in between sets. 3. The classes are small and maybe 10 people at the most. It is more of a semi private training experience - all the attention and individualized focus of a top trainer with the social benefits of being part of a positive community. 4. Fast Results. Pure and simple. I've done it all: F45, Barry's, Orangetheory, Indoor Cycling, Hot yoga, kickboxing, etc. I am the strongest, leanest I've ever been and because my metabolism has skyrocketed by adding muscle mass, it's so freeing not to watch calories anymore.

Ok, so maybe I wasn't her target market because Noelle's Perfect Fitness is targeted towards a…read moreslightly (and I only mean slightly) older demographic, but being a former fitness trainer, I'm always open to try new workout routines. Let me tell you...as simple as some of the moves are and as easy as Noelle makes it look...it's a workout! I tried the pocket pilates (despite not being a big pilates fan) and it's a great 10 minute routine for those days where you JUST don't have time to get a workout in and I still broke a sweat! Don't get me wrong...I play beach vball fairly regularly and have a normal workout routine, so I'm definitely not sedentary. So if a simple 10 minute pilates workout can get me to break a sweat...that's pretty good (either that or I have the flexibility of an OX...which is debatable) Core and balance are some of my weak spots...My abs are pretty good but I guess core isn't just abs now isn't it? (rhetorical question) I can see how this would be really good for those in their 40s and 50s that need to really focus on core and balance for longevity. You'll walk better and have more energy. If I can feel the benefits in my late 30s...then 40s and 50s would DEFINITELY feel it. I think Noelle's personality also completely separates the effectiveness of her workouts from others. I can totally see some other dead-pan trainer doing the same training and helping me get only half the level of results. Noelle kept me engaged and distracted at the toughest moments so I couldn't really think about struggling...I actually had to stop a couple times to laugh. (excuse to not keep pushing...I know) I think I'm going to try her Shedding Off The Years workouts next and get a head start "shedding off the years". =P Looking forward to the next workout!
