Body Accents - helix piercing - Tattoo Near Me - Joplin, Missouri

Have had several piercings here for well over 15+ years. Even took my daughter when she turned 18 for her cartilage. She had an issue, but that was her fault as she was sleeping on her piercings. Piercers there was sweet and informative to her. Had my tragus done with her, and no issues. read more

Very judgy, when I was asked what I was getting by the girl at the front counter, I showed her and she said "this is what you're getting?" And "who quoted you this" judging me, side eyeing me and talking about me to another girl very clearly, because the tattoo I wanted is not something a typical "guy" would get. Then while waiting they asked me if I could wait TWO HOURS after already having an appointment set up. Very unprofessional. read more

In the past few months I have had both my daith piercings done here, snake bites, Medusa, and eye brow plus one tattoo. All of my experiences have been great. read more

First time I went and got my nose piercing the lady was super rude. Last time I went to get my belly pierced with my friend and we we're just mentally preparing and she was super rude with us. Not a good experience in my opinion. read more

I went with a huge group of friends to get different piercings and I was very pleased with my smiley. I've always wanted one and they helped me mark this off of my bucket list. I was incredibly impressed with just one piercer able to do us all in a reasonable amount of time. She gave us all papers on how to treat them, everything was reasonably priced. The long trip was worth it and I'm so happy! read more

I've gotten two tattoos here one was a little moon and one was the planets. Both times I had to have them touched up in less than 6 months because all of the ink just disappears. I was told that I got a touch up for free for the first year but when I got there they told me there would be a charge of $20 for a touch up. read more

Went in for a simple tattoo and walked out with lines that are very shaky and not straight. Don't know what her name was but would recommend sketch to do your tattoos there if you plan on going to body accents. read more

Had an appointment for thee and waited over an hour to get the tattoo. The shop wasn't well kept and the female artist had an attitude towards my friends. She didn't work with them on the ideas they wanted but rather traced over printed pictures instead of working to create a unique tattoo with the ideas they had in mind. When my friends expressed that their designs were not what they wanted she stormed off and then told us she was too stressed to do their tattoos. Only giving two stars because the tattoo artist I got was wonderful. read more

Very pleased with my experience at this shop. I went tonight with some friends looking to get a cartilage ear piercing. The shop was clean which is always a good first impression. I wanted a cartilage piercing and the lady who performs piercings here was nice and friendly through the whole experience. She was very clear and upfront about the prices as well and was great with answering questions. The jewelry is included in the price of piercing which is great, and the price point of the piercings were extremely fair to begin with. The piercing artist was great at what she did and again, offered great help and advice. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a piercing. Oh, and I must mention the fact that this is (as far as we were able to find out) the ONLY tattoo/piercing that stays open past like 6pm in this area. I could be wrong but this was the only one that clearly states that they are open til 10. The only thing I would change about the experience would be that you aren't able to tip the artist if you use a credit/debit card and that they charge a 2 dollar fee to pay with a card. Other than that tiny part, everything was awesome. read more

my opinion is what changed? their quality or their abilities? is that why they don't honer their word and have changed their policy? sorry lil' brother now almost 2000.00 spent as a loyal customer (old patron) with a shop that raves on being in business for over 30 yrs. this shop acknowledged that they did have lifetime touch ups back then however now they guarantee for only 1 yr. oh by the way still the same owners all these years!!! wow i have had 5 tattoos by terry ward and my ex husband had 1 from him also my brother has had 2 created by terrry ward.... back when chico and terry where there it was a lifetime guarantee (that means touch ups)!!! alex barnes said that they will not honor their word because the artist is no longer working there. if a touch up would be less than an hour he would charge shop rate of $60.00 to be a asset to our community body accents should be be an upstanding honest place of business! don"t ride the coat tails of past artists reputations if you don't honor their contracts!! # shady read more

I haven't been to Body Accents for ink myself since the late 1990's but I have accompanied friends and I have to give them credit where credit is due: my 15 year old tattoos from there still look fantastic, and the colors are still great. I think they get a lot of badmouthing from other tattoo art studios in the area, but the truth is they have been around for a long time and they are accessible to all. I have been into other tattoo art studios where I'm looked upon rudely for being somewhat traditional in appearance or not "down" with the owners and artists in my personal life. Is tattooing really such a social thing around here? I guess so. I think Body Accents is all the better for just treating people as customers and giving them what they want at a price that is within the acceptable going rates. It may not be the hippest place to get your tat, but it gets the job done. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. As soon as I walked in I wasn't greeted, or treated with polite customer service, even though they weren't busy at all. I was handed something to fill out sheepishly, then taken to the back. The piercer didn't tell me ANYTHING about the procedure, just told me to lay down. My nipple rings are COMPLETELY crooked, because of how rushed it was - again, store completely empty. She didn't bandage me at all - I was forced to ask. No aftercare sheet or instructions, I literally had to ask before I left. She then told me to use saline as a disinfectant, I got some, and it CLEARY states on the bottle (NOT A DISINFECTANT). To no surprise, they got infected a day later. $80 later I have crooked and infected piercings, and a horrible experience. Save yourself the time, money, and trouble! read more

Mandy was great! She was super professional, kind, funny and calm! I live an hour away from Joplin but will definitely return for more piercings here! read more

I can't speak for the tattoos, but don't get pierced here. They use cheap metal and externally threaded bars which increase your risk of infection. Jade pierced me in February and the placement was extremely wrong and I ended up having to take my piercing out. They give you a sheet of paper on how to take care of your piercing afterwards and that information is incorrect also. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Mandy tonight! Not only was she completely professional and friendly, she answered all my questions and made me feel super at ease with the whole process! Highly recommend her!! I love my new piercing! read more

Just looking at the pictures of their work online shows that they don't have the basic line work down. There are a bunch of tattoos with wonky lines that look like they were done by Michael J. Fox during an earthquake. I have heard HORRIBLE things about them online and I know I will never visit them any time in the future. read more
