It was often crowded and equipment broke regularly and took a while to fix. The locker rooms and bathrooms were usually kinda dirty. I often saw children running around unsupervised. The staff was generally friendly, and I liked that I could just punch in a number instead of carrying a card around to sign in. The trainer I met with was really great and gave me a lot of good exercises to do. When I came in to cancel this membership, though, one of the staff members made a rather rude comment about my changing to another gym, saying that I was "more likely to find a husband" at the other gym. I was really offended, because all I'd ever done was come to the Y, work out, and leave. I didn't know this staff member. That experience really downgraded this Y. I also learned after I left that someone had put cameras in the women's bathroom stalls...so between those two things, I'm going give this particular Y a 2 star rating. Other Y's in town were nicer. And if you want a cheap gym, this is still the way to go.

The workouts are hard, and they don't get easier, you just get better. You start seeing results after just a couple of weeks. It only took a 1 hour commitment 3 times a week to reverse my horrible fitness level. It was really much easier than I thought because it becomes addictive. This is considered a "rouge" fitness program. They throw out the traditional rules and fluff like air conditioning and treadmills. It's unjustly intimidating, but give it a shot. You won't be disappointed and it might just change your life. It's worth every penny. Sadly, I had to move on but I wanted to drop some love to Belen and the Crossfit fam before I get going. Adam is now Asst. manager and does an excellent job! Makayla, Briana, Alivia, and Bree are awesome! They have all treated me very well, are fun and positive people, and all very hard workers as well. The machines, equipment are always well maintained and sensitized. The Locker Rooms and restrooms are cleaner than any gym or eating establishment you'll find in Wichita. This is important, since gyms and fitnesses are germ pits. I would recommend the South Seneca location 5 stars. I'm not fond of the Twin Lakes branch at all.
