We were served by a delightful couple who were friendly and happy to explain the menu. The food was all delicious. When i explained I did not eat meat and just asked for vegetables, they insisted on making me a very good couscous based dish, together with the vegetables. We ate in the very pleasant courtyard. Tea, at the end of the meal, was served in delightful handmade cups from the pottery. And there were wonderful little pottery figurines for sale. Will definitely be returning for more.

Note: This Senegalese food truck is usually parked in Avignon. The owner ONLY comes to…read moreL'isle-sur-la-Sorgue on Sundays for the famous antique market. He said he always parks in the same spot. What a TREAT. A real hidden gem. As we were leaving the Sunday market and canals in L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue, we spotted this truck parked in front of the bank in the Square des Marechaux. All we noticed was a picture that said "Exotisme Garanti"... We were three social justice activists that stopped in our tracks stating, "Whaaaaat is thaat?" I mean, we realized we were in France, but still. All of a sudden, the cook lures us over... we were all speaking broken pieces of way too many languages. He started giving us samples of spicy peanut sauces, etc... we were hooked. Of COURSE we wanted fresh homemade Senegalese food. We ordered the Mafe au boef, Acras de Morue, pasteles de poisson, poulet yassa and the cocktail de gingembre (he was sold out of this, but insisted on making us a fresh batch of this fresh ginger drink). The food was SO fresh and tasty... it felt so good and comforting to put *spices* into our body. It was truly made with love. We also happened to be full for the rest of the night - SCORE. Ma-Coumbe food truck was the perfect way to end our visit to l'isle, our favorite town in Provence. That whole experience lacked the "Suburban housewife feel" that many of the other towns exuded. We will always remember this serendipitous encounter.
