He has old stuff, new stuff, stuff he makes and stuff other folks make. I bought a few things and wish I had planned to spend more money. I didn't think I would do any shopping, since I was traveling with my dad. BIG MISTAKE, HUGE. I left wanting so much more. The good news I snapped pictures of the items I wanted and I recall him saying if I decide I want anything later he can send it with someone related to him who travels to Houston often! His store is also his home. He was actually having his breakfast there. Nice fellow. Says his commute to work is great. I bet! He also has a bed and breakfast, no, sorry, not the breakfast part, he said he isn't about that life. He made these cool little rooms, with patios, that look just comfy, cozy, cool, and I mean really cool rooms you can stay in for a very cheap price! You are on your own for breakfast, but he makes up for it by lending you his kayak, driving you and picking you up at the Guadalupe River! I want to stay in that boat of his with my kiddos and drink my morning coffee on the roof! I like to say I'm not needy, I'm wanty. I wanty come back!

We have had two very similar landscaping projects done - the front of our property was done by…read moreAlltex Landscaping, and the back of our property was done by TX Design Landscaping. Both projects were xeriscape projects involving significant decomposed granite coverage, and also river rock dry creek beds and perimeters where the runoff water comes through our property when it rains. Two extremely similar projects with two significantly different experiences. The April 2021 Project done by Alltex was completed on time with quality, clean materials and coverage as agreed. This project also included artificial turf areas by the front of house that turned out excellent. The November 2025 Project done by TX Design Landscape was very low-quality work, and what was done was done with a very significant amount of dirt and clay mixed, extremely low-quality decomposed granite and river rock materials. The coverage was not as agreed to; there was a 'miss' on the material coverage take-offs done by TX Design Landscape. TX Design Landscape also for whatever reason decided to leave considerable areas, where no weed barrier was put down at all, or the weed barrier put down was not stapled down correctly and there were exposed frayed edges everywhere. Over the next several weeks we spent significant time taking up the granite and river rock, laying down weed barrier, stapling down the weed barrier edges properly, melting off the frayed edges and most importantly cleaning up the clay and dirt left behind by TX Design Landscaping so that runoff water could actually flow thru the areas intended, and then putting the granite and river rock back down. Clearly, based upon our experience Alltex Landscaping is the easily the best choice!

So, going across the street to Hime Depot hoping to get what I need I found Theresa working in paints . She had a customer and still acknowledged me with a greet and that she would be right with me . I patiently waited and she got to me quickly. She walked me over to an alternative paint that actually worked better for my project. She explained the quality and matched my paint perfectly. She helped two other people without dropping any service expectations I had . Absolutely hands down the best experience in a hardware store . She offered store incentives I didn't know about and made sure I had everything I needed . She was enthusiastic, she knew her product and listened to me.
