I was visiting the area and stopped for lunch. First impression, I like the themed decor and the good Latin music constantly playing. This location also has several TVs on the walls playing sport games. We started with a Caldo de Res (Beef Soup). Yum! Just perfect. Generous portion. Enough for two to share. Then we ordered a Pick 3 Taco order. It included a Carne Asada (grilled beef), Pastor (marinated pork) and Chicharrón (crispy fried pork & skin) tacos. The food is well seasoned and very tasty. Defiantly one of the more authentic Mexican places I've tried. Our server was polite, attentive and answered our questions with a lot of patience. I hope to visit again soon.

This is a great Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is very comfy and casual. The outside seating is more romantic for date night. Tvs inside provide entertainment and artwork keeps eyes satisfied. The colors in here make you hungry. Good sized menu yet something for everyone. My server Alisha wqs great and she sold me on the rancheros skillet. Did not dissappoint and would come again with friends. This is happy food:)

I ordered carne asada tacos, a cheese quesadilla and queso & salsa with chips. The quesadilla was greasy and the carne asada tacos were not cooked very well & also cold. The salsa was decent, but the Chips were not fresh or warm. I did a pick up order and the restaurant forgot the queso. My experience was not good, so I would not recommend especially for the price point.

This restaurant is a must try! Everything is made fresh and with care. There is a sign when you enter that says "Food is medicine" this is so true. Food is for comfort, makes you happy, and does your body good among other things. This restaurant cares about that! They make their tortilla in house, why are they red you ask? They use everything and try not to be wasteful and explained that the red comes from the water they use for beets. This water is then used for mixing the corn tortilla batter.. how awesome is that! The ingredients are something that matters to them and it shows in the taste of the food. This is not artificial flavors, but more authentic with foods natural taste. It is clean eating. We had the Barria Tacos and they were moist and cooked perfectly. The side of consume that comes with it is a perfect companion. Would definitely order them again! The trio of guacamole, salsa and queso is a great way to try all three. They each compliment each other and the chips were thin and fresh. The guac was made with two types of onions ( white and red) it was yummy, but the onions were a little too much for me personally, I still would order it again. I felt like the salsa could use some more spice maybe from a jalepeno? Still would order it again as well! Combining the salsa and queso is a real treat! We look forward to going back and trying more items! The service is outstanding as well: thank you Chelsea! A great big shout out to Andres for being so cool! Please try this place and get to know what you're eating. Our palettes have gotten used to junk and bad ingredients including artificial flavors, why not try something fresh and tasty at Boda!

Very good choice Mexican Restaurant all fresh made to order they advertise no frozen and no microwave. Spacious interior and nice outdoor seating (though your view is the highway). Our server was very friendly and attentive. Chips and Salsa, margaritas and chicken enchiladas and pork belly taco and shrimp taco.

Absolutely fantastic! Stopped at Boda for lunch and everything exceeded expectations. The team was so nice and helpful guiding us through the menu. They make nearly everything in-house--including their tender tortillas tinted red with a little beet juice (a cool touch). We really enjoyed the pork tamale: yummy filling with a sweetness to the masa which was a surprise. My shrimp tacos were delicious--perfectly cooked shrimp with fresh toppings like sliced radishes for crunch. My husband devoured his tacos (al pastor is his favorite) and said they were all spot-on. The fresh chips and house-made salsas/sauces were outstanding--super unique and flavorful. The quality really stands out because nothing is frozen or microwaved. We'll definitely be regulars--highly recommend a visit if you're in Tampa!

this place has great food for great prices! We got the two tacos for eight dollars. The Carnitas was our favorite. We also got chicken and vegetable vegetable is also a star. there is lots of seating and the food comes out quickly. our server Chelsea was very helpful and kind! thank you chelsea! Lots of parking. They do catering and have a drive-through for pre-order ONLY the bathroom is great. there are two single rooms, one for men and one for women. Very cute dresser in it. Very clean as well.

The food at boda is fresh and amazing. I got the pastor tacos and they were filled with meat and it was not fatty pork, very flavorful and some of the best pastor tacos I've ever had. The elote was also delicious, we licked the plate. The tortillas are corn but not dry because they are infused with beet juice, so it's mostly all gluten free. The queso was also amazing. The service was kind of slow today but most other days it is pretty quick and you cannot beat the price for the quality.

My family and I checked out Boda on a Friday night while running an errand in Tampa. My pregnant wife was craving chips and salsa and this place looked new and really good. We arrived a little after 6pm. This authentic Mexican restaurant offers up an array of picturesque tacos, hearty traditional entrees and appetizers to suit and palate. We were hungry! We started with the Boda trio. Fresh, thin and crispy chips that came out warm accompanied by three bowls to dip them in. A fresh guacamole, salsa ranchera and salsa de queso. The guac was good, it had chunks of avocado in it and had great flavor. The salsa was fresh and zingy, bursting with flavor as well. The queso was decent. We felt it lacked a little flavor but our daughter loved it and I am pretty sure she finished that. What was nice is the dips outlasted the chips. For dinner my wife ordered the Birria Borracha. Two fresh corn tortillas that was filled with shredded short ribs fresh pickled red onion and cilantro. My wife enjoyed the dish. The red corn tortillas were dipped in the sauce like birria usually us. I ordered a deal they had for three tacos. I got the pastor, the carne asada and the chicharron. All three were filled with plenty of meat and colorful toppings. Not overly stuffed, they were manageable and well priced for what you got. My favorite being the carne asada. The sliced ribeye was tender and the veggies added a nice crunch. The fried pork belly was decent. I felt the meat in that one got lost in the toppings. The pastor was a little different than I am used to but was good. We also tried their plantains. Those were tender, sweet and covered in a crema. We highly enjoyed them. With a casual setting, speedy service and friendly staff, I'd come back here again.

I loved this Mexican restaurant at 2038 N Dale Mabry in Tampa. It is so attractive with lots of personality, Day of the Dead . Even the ladies room was nicely decorated. The food was very fresh and delicious. Do have the flan. The Mexican flan is very dense and my favorite. Good parking. Outside seating also. They opened early. .

Hidden Gem in Tampa! I stumbled upon Boda while in the area and saw a sign for $3 happy hour beers; had to check it out! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed warmly by the staff and even the owner. Prices were super fair, and the al pastor taco blew me away. It came on a homemade corn tortilla that they color with beet juice for that beautiful magenta tone; the owner explained it actually enhances the texture too! I really miss the food I had in Mexico, and this is the closest I've found in Florida. The spicy hot sauce they recommended was fantastic, and even the salsa that came out complimentary was full of flavor. I had two beers, guac and chips, salsa, and two tacos for just $24; such a great deal. You can tell they care about the details, from the food to the hospitality. The atmosphere is casual, friendly, and filled with great Mexican music. I'll definitely be back! Those house-made tortillas are unbeatable!

This place just opened and we were intrigued to try. Came in during lunch and greeted upon entering. Staff were super friendly. Even the owner spoke to us on several occasions. Nice open concept restaurant with plenty of seating. It appears they had a drive thru also. I think they are still working out the kinks and have some improvements to go to get it right based on our experience. My friend and I both got the enchiladas - I got the suizas which is shredded chicken and she got the vegetables one. We also got the in-house brewed hibiscus tea and the chips and salsa. I have to say that the tea and chips / salsa were the major highlights of our meal because the enchiladas sucked. And for the pricing point I'd expect much better! As you can see from the pictures they were swimming in sauce. And the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. Lacked that "authentic" touch. Was more of something I'd expect from a jar rather than homemade. Her vegetable enchiladas, the vegetables weren't even cooked fully nor were they cut down to sizable pieces to eat. They did remake her enchiladas and it was slightly better but still not quite right. They were soggy and sort of gross after a while. I paid $32 for lunch! Which included 2 teas, chips/salsa and my enchilada since they took hers off the tab. Quite an expensive disappointment.

Somewhere new in Tampa that's not $30+ a person. It's a causal spot with a drive through window, good Mexican food is hard to find and Boda is a good casual option. Ambiance is a large room with Dias de las muertos decor. I ordered a half chicken half carne asada bowl. The rice and beans and were delicious, but the meat portions were not generous. I preferred the chicken over the beef. Next time I'll order tacos as that seems to be what they are known for.

Went to Boda for lunch yesterday and it was delicious! Everything is fresh and flavorful. The corn tamale was outstanding, enchilada and tacos tasty, and the guacamole is truly the best I've had in Tampa! The staff were also friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The owner of Riveters, has opened this amazing authentic Mexican restaurant. Everything was so amazing. The food was authentic fresh and full of so much flavor. When you come you have to try the boda trio where you get guacamole salsa and queso, the chips are made fresh. The purple corn tortillas make the presentation so colorful and beautiful to match the amazing taste everything has. I got the carne asada (beef) tacos and pollo (chicken) tacos. Service atmosphere and food everything was amazing. Definitely will be back. read more

You have to pay for chips and salsa here. The salsa is OK but not think enough for me but tasty. The plastic portioned plates don't hold much beans and rice. They need to switch to refried and charro beans. Black beans and white rice are NOT Mexican. Flavorless. Expensive. Won't be back. read more

Very fresh fast, casual Mexican food taking over the old Taco Bell on Dale Mabry. The service is great! They've only been open two weeks when we tried them. They make everything in house, including the chips (which are addictive) we both got the enchiladas, queso, Mexican street corn and for dessert, churros and flan. Everything was good, but lacking a depth of flavor. Probably just more spices need to be added, but I'm sure they're just working out the kinks. Besides, a dash of hot sauce here and there made all the difference. I'm looking forward to returning. read more

The ambiance and decoration immediately captures your attention. If you stop by, the tacos on their signature red corn tortilla are a must try. My personal favorite was the Al pastor taco. Ask for Julie, she provided excellent service, was warm and friendly with great suggestions and recommendations. If you stop by here I'm sure you'll have a great time here. read more

Got the Carne Asada bowl to go. Big portion but it was a massive amount of rice and beans. They had good flavor. Carne Asada was good. But it was definitely missing something and really was an extra extraordinary amount of rice and beans for a $15+ dollar bowl. Would still go back and try the other bowls. The hardworking family running this business could not be nicer. They have a great sense of pride for the food and drink coming out of the kitchen. Boda Trio of guacamole, Queso and ranchero salsa was a fine start to the meal. The staff explained the menu very well, birria tacos, enchiladas suiza, and chicken tacos were delicious. If you want good mexican go here. Saw it randomly and decided to stop for lunch. The staff was so nice and friendly they answered any questions we had about the menu. The food itself was fantastic my husband said it's the best mexican food he's ever had. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and well decorated. My only downside is the chairs at the tables hurt a little to sit on. read more

We noticed this upbeat little gem on Dale Mabry while out running errands. A quick google of their menu had me in. This is authentic Mexican food, not some try hard version of Tex-Mex. The food is amazing. I had the caldo de res and the birria borracha tacos. Andre made us feel like we were dinner guests in his house. It's a walk up to order place but your food is served to you at your table on real dishes. Boda just opened its doors 3 weeks ago and we hope to see them stick around for a while. Those birria tacos were AMAZING!!! I can only eat so much but I hope to sample more of their tempting menu! read more

Went to Boda on Saturday night and it was hands down one of the best Mexican food spots in Tampa. The place was super clean, the service was incredibly friendly, and they really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I had the torta with raisin rice and it was packed with flavor. And the churros? To die for. Crispy, warm, and absolutely perfect. Definitely a go-to spot for great food and even better service. read more

Boda opened recently and serves delicious Mexican dishes and tacos, etc. Lunched there today. It's just before the Home Depot at Dale Mabry and 275. It's clean and delicious. Look for the umbrellas on their el fresco patio. Even the salsa was fresh and irresistible. The staff is excellent as well. If you're in a rush, they even have a drive through window. Authentic Mexican food for a good value. read more

Among the sea of Mexican cuisine offered in and around Tampa, it's not easy to find Mexican restaurants that blow my mind. Until I tried Boda. Holy WOW! With no freezer and no microwave in house, you are guaranteed the freshest, scratch-made food. I can sit here and describe how amazing the food is here, but until you try it yourself you can't imagine. On top of this, their prices are so refreshing for Tampa. You can have two entrees, an appetizer and two alcoholic drinks and walk out the door for about $50. IYKYK. But that isn't even with their awesome happy hour prices. Decor is awesome and if you're a sports fan, there's plenty of TVs for you. Awesome background music and THE LITERAL BEST STAFF!! I can't say enough amazing things. I haven't gone to another Mexican restaurant in Tampa since finding Boda!! read more

You have to pay for chips and salsa here. Very few do this. The tacos I had were pretty good. You get 3 for $12. Oh, the salsa is very good but not hot enough for me but tasty. My wife had a taco platter. They need to switch to refried and charro beans. Black beans and white rice are NOT Mexican. Small menu. Need more variety. read more

First of all, I consider myself a connoisseur of Mexican food. Tamales had no meat and lacked the typical spices usually added. Had the enchiladas verde . The sauce was so salty it nearly ruined the meal. Wife had the chicharrones which were quite tasty. I would suggest the re-evaluate the offering and improve in areas mentioned. Service was good but the ambiance of the place is like a Wendy's, yet they have a wait staff!??! read more

Amazing relaxed atmosphere but the food is so fresh and top notch. Scratch made everything and the taste is just amazing. Spice, flavor, quality, the list goes on and on. Hands down one of the best tacos I've had in Tampa. The chorizo is killer. And the staff, wonderful and friendly even the owner will unassumingly pop by your table and talk like you were friends. It was a wonderful meal and experience, I cannot recommend them enough! read more

We visited this place let me tell you, this sucks I don't know what they meant by authentic Mexican food because that was far from authentic, we ordered the birria borracha which is two tacos and it was swimming in oil, two enchiladas zuisas the chicken was mushy and the sauce was not good, two tacos one azada one carnitas the azada was ok the carnitas were horrible, the chilaquiles verdes, ugh the chips they use are from a bag not homemade the salsa was so sour basically bitter, the egg on top had a rubbery texture , the horchata was also nasty, and the price of the bill was outrageous for what we received ! $80 plus tip for four meals. read more

Soooooo yummy. The food tastes very fresh. Chips are warm. Salsa is delicious. We had tacos - carne asada, camarones, pollo- all were excellent. Three of us ordered the chicken enchiladas and all three gave rave reviews. We all agreed that we will come back! read more

We enjoyed a variety of beef, pork, and chicken tacos with rice and beans, after our guacamole appetizer Everything was freshly prepared and tasted delicious! I had the plantain enchilada with black bean sauce (chicken add on) and chips and queso. Best enchilada I have found in Tampa. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. I plan to be a regular and try the many options from the diverse menu (ceviche and traditional enchilada next visit). Funny story, the guy at the table next to mine was smelling the red tortillas and said they smelled so good. Did not know that was a thing, but I guess it is. Food and Service 5 Stars. Love the chandeliers too! read more

This one's a sleeper that may be the best Mexican food on this side of the bay. In a renovated former fast food restaurant, Boda serves high quality, fresh Mexican food. Our group had homemade chips and salsa, guacamole, the pollo bowl, and enchiladas rojas. I had perhaps the best enchiladas suizas I have ever had. The tomatillo sauce was outstanding. Great new spot in the Stadium area - post game, late night or on the way home from work. The food was great - perfectly cooked, really flavorful, with fresh and crisp vegetables within every dish we ordered. We had three different tacos - chicharron (pork belly), camarones (shrimp) and pastor (marinated pork). Each was a good portion and the flavors within each were distinct. Everything is made in house, including the ceviche and tortilla shells. The ambiance is terrific - clean, bright, upbeat music playing and the service was noticeably customer-focused. Some order-at-the-counter places forget about you when you get your food - not at Boda. The tamales were awesome - light corn filling with a sweet finish contrasted with just perfect tartness from the Chipotle cream sauce and Queso Blanco. The platanos maduros (sweet plantains) were as good as you can find anywhere - perfectly ripened and firm, not overly ripened or overly fried. The guacamole contained chunks of fresh avocado and tomato pieces instead of over-whipped guacamole dip style you find in places that pay less attention to detail and food prep. We'll be going again soon, whether to dine in or pick up.
