One star because ordered take-out on what appeared to be a slow late afternoon with few patrons. Ordered a small plain cheese pizza and medium white pizza. The 2nd star was earned because the pizza was decent. However, certainly not worth the wait. There was an abundance of staff. Saw two dedicated bartenders, 3 people taking to-go orders / hosting, a couple of servers and two managers. So the wait wasn't for lack of staffing. What a great restuarnt! Was in close proximity to all three locations and ended up choosing the one closer to Venice mainly because we figured we would visit a Venice Beach after dinner. When we arrived, we were welcomed and were able to get a seat right away. In giving reviews, I am always honest and must confess we waited a bit until a server arrived at our table. It was nothing aggregious, just longer than normal. If we weren't so hungry and knew of other decent places with no wait, we may have walked out, so we decided to stick around and I'm glad we did. Mariah asked if we were being waited on, picked up our order, and things quickly changed. Her southern hospitality and charm made up for the extended time waiting. While pure speculation, I'm pretty sure she was assigned a different area as she was all over the place. Despite this, she managed to check in on us, made sure we were hydrated, and provided us with outstanding customer service. A huge thank you to Mariah for your service. I started off with a Hazify (New England Style IPA from Palm City Brewing) One of the great things about traveling to different areas is trying beers from different parts of the Country that may not be readily available back home in New Jersey. I snacked on some Coal Fired Wings (Fried crispy, tossed in your favorite sauce and finished next to their 1200° coals) tossed in a mango habenero sauce. There were many varieties to choose from and was happy with my choice and would have been just as happy with some of the other flavors as well. For the main course, we ordered the Pizza Margherita (Neopolitan tomato sauce with flor di latte (fresh mozzarella) and basil), Ravioli (Cheese ravioli topped with our homemade tomato sauce) and Vodka Penne (Tossed in tomato cream sauce.) Both pasta dishes came with two huge garlic knots that my son said was one of the best garlic knots he ever had and I can attest he has has many. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Coming from New Jersey with so many great pizza places, I was reluctant to try the pizza but was impressed with the quality being I was 1200 miles from home. My kids devoured their food enjoyed their meal. For dinning out, I though the price point was perfect and was surprised it was not more expensive. In finding places to eat, an important thing for me is to find a well balanced menu that could satisfy me and my daughter who is a vegetarian. This was a new place for me to try and I loved it. There is a restaurant area and a bar with alot of TVs. It looks like a local favorite hang out spot. We decided to start with the meatballs. They were made well and juicy inside. Great start. The salads were crisp and the dressing had great flavor. We ordered wings to share and a medium pizza. There were some great sauces for the wings, Korean BBQ was the choice and it was not too sweet with some heat. The hand tossed sausage and ricotta came and we were in heaven. The crust was great. I feel this makes the pizza. Their sausage had a hearty flavor, not over spiced and the ricotta was creamy. I will say we took most of our dinner home to enjoy again. I went back here but dined in this time. The kitchen was viewable from the dining area and there were mostly booths to sit at. 5 different wing sauces were chosen for wings. They consisted of teriyaki wasabi, maple mustard, hot Bocca Lupo original, mango habanero, and spicy Thai peanut. The wings, in general, were on the smaller side, but were cooked appropriately. I tried the hot original before, but this time, the sauce was already on the wings. They were okay, not very hot, probably the worst sauce I tried. The teriyaki wasabi had a wasabi dipping sauce that mixed nicely with the teriyaki present on the wings. If the teriyaki was eaten by itself, it was far too sweet. The maple mustard was interesting and unique. The maple and mustard flavoring went together nicely. The mango habanero was not too bad. The mango was more noticeable than the habanero pepper as this sauce had a slight kick at the end but would have liked more spiciness to balance out the sweetness. The spicy Thai peanut was easily the best one. There was an ideal spice factor to it with the saltiness coming from the peanut flavor. read more

The pizza is delicious. The crust is just chewy enough to make it a texture that is extremely pleasing and the ingredients are fresh and complimentary to the sauce. The service was as it should be on a very busy Friday afternoon. It's a pizza and wing joint with wings that are cooked to perfection in a wood stove. Great experience, Thursday at 5pm and they head quite the crowd. No wait but the kitchen seemed to be putting out the food in a timely manner. Service was excellent just like the food. Caprese was fresh with a tasty Balsamic and olive oil. Usually so not see pesto with the Caprese but it worked and was done well. Both the Pizza and Calzone were cooked to perfection with excellent flavor. Took a canolli home, both the filling and shell were very fresh. We will definitely be going back. read more

Caesar salad was fresh but couldn't detect anchovies (a must in Caesar dressing!) had too much cheese. Pizza was tasty, if a bit soggy. Definitely would pass on the garlic knots next time, which were more like large chunks of fluffy white bread covered in garlic butter, not what garlic knots should be ( smaller and chewier is the classic way to make them IMO). I'm not one for reviews, but this place is subpar. Bocca Lupo claims to be coal fired but the pie is just so incredibly doughy, wet, and overall bland. The cheeses also used to make these pies are also subpar, as well as the service. Went there early Saturday afternoon and a young blond waitress took our order, I asked if the prosciutto and arugula was a white pie and she couldn't answer the question (with or without sauce). Went with another couple last Monday 27th of January. I'm not complaining about the food or the service, my problem was I ordered a chief salad and the plate that came with it was only about (saucer) 4 inches round. I asked for a bowl and was told they were all in the dish washer. I said ok then could you bring a piece of bread so that i could keep the salad from sliding off the plate on to the table. The waitress informed me they had no bread and would have to bring me rolls and have to charge me for them. It's not that I could not afford the rolls it's I would be charged for them. I asked to see the manager, he was rude and did not offer a solution. I will never return/ if Mark worked for me I would fire him on the spot. His customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The waitress even made a snide remark, we are not a bread store. You have a great restaurant, but the manager either makes or breaks the place. He stated he was the district manager, WOW!
