There, RN William was absolutely amazing with him and us. He kept us updated of everything they were doing, lab tests, making my dad feel comfortable. And you could see his dedication on trying all he could to make him better. Once he was transferred to ICU he came with us and sincerely wished us all the best. I am glad I got his name and able to mention him here, as he deserves all our gratitude and recognition from the hospital for his dedication and care. Same goes to Daniel - ICU RN Nurse. We can't thank him enough. At the end there was nothing else anyone can do for my dad. Unfortunately, he passed away, but Daniel, and the rest of the staff (some names I remember are RN John, and Michelle) made sure he was not in any pain, comfortable and that we (his kids and wife) were able to be there until his last breath. Wish I could remember the night doctor's name that night, because between him and Daniel, they truly showed a lot of compassion and care during that very difficult time. Not only that, Daniel and the other nurses, would talk with my dad (while he was able) and joking with him, making him, and us all, feel calmer. Day and Night they worked their hardest, not only with my dad but with the other patients there too. This wasn't an experience I like to review but it is the way I can (hopefully) make sure these wonderful people are recognized and aware that we truly appreciate all they did for my dad, and for us. It is a relief to have people like them in this difficult time.

I watched people getting off the elevator for over 90 minutes before I was finally able to follow someone to a space they were leaving. Yowza. We had two visits here within a week. One was a simple biopsy. The later was an extended stay in the Neuro ICU. Don't worry, everyone's fine now. The nursing staff was over the top welcoming, helpful, caring and friendly. Especially the nurse who spotted my brother and I in my Dad's room after he went back for his procedure and walked us over to the area so we could be with him before he went back for it. And just everyone was super nice. I wouldn't want to spent multiple days here again but if there's a nicer hospital in South Florida, I can't find it. My nurse was Nelson and he was totally wonderful. He explained everything that was happening and I knew that I was in good hands. Usually when taking friends to emergency rooms and they spent the whole day, I was in and out within 3 hours. I would recommend this hospital to everyone. Don't think twice about it, if you need a great hospital choose this one. If you get a nurse named Nelson I know you will be happy.

Outstanding Emergency Care at West Boca Medical Center…read more I recently visited the Emergency Room at West Boca Medical Center, 21644 State Road 7, Boca Raton, with a serious thumb injury. I want to thank Dr. Mark Khilnani, MD, Ivan, Joe, Ryan, Jenny, and the entire ER team for the exceptional care I received. What impressed me most was the speed and efficiency of the care. There was virtually no waiting. Within minutes of arriving, I was brought in, evaluated, sent for X-rays, had blood work completed, and received treatment for my injury. The staff worked together like a well-coordinated team, and everything moved quickly without ever making me feel rushed. My wound was carefully cleaned, examined, and treated. The team stitched me up, managed my pain, and most importantly, saved my thumb. Throughout the entire process, everyone was professional, compassionate, reassuring, and highly skilled. What could have been a very stressful experience turned into one where I felt confident I was receiving excellent care. I was especially impressed by how pain-free the treatment was. From the cleaning of the wound to the stitches, the staff took their time, explained everything, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. My only suggestion for improvement involves the billing process. While dealing with an injury and completing numerous forms on a tablet, I later noticed a credit card charge that I did not specifically remember authorizing. There may have been information contained within the electronic paperwork, but I believe payment authorizations could be explained more clearly to patients during emergency situations. That said, the quality of the medical care I received was outstanding. The fast response, excellent treatment, professionalism, and successful outcome are what I will remember most. Finally getting a brand new pyrocarbon titanium shoulder after years of pain and limited motion…read more The front of the medical center was clean and thankfully a smoke free area. At 530am the front doors promptly opened to the lobby and met with the bubbly registrar Diane who made check in simple and quick. Security walked me up to the waiting room where I sat for a bit then prep for surgery. They knocked me out with some great stuff and the surgery was a success. Cudos to Dr Johnathan Levy. Went home and began my brutal 12 week recovery.

Because he had a private room, he was able to control the TV just like he does at home, which made him feel a little more at ease. I was impressed by how genuinely the staff seemed to care about him. Even the charge nurse I spoke with was helpful and took the time to answer my questions, even though she was busy. The hospital itself was immaculate, but what stood out most was the compassion and care from the staff. I appreciate everyone who took such great care of my friend during a very difficult time.

The woman at the front desk of the ER was very welcoming and polite to me and every one else that I watched come into the ER. They have you fill out one paper form and then a link is sent to your phone to sign other intake forms which was convenient, but I do wish I got a downloadable copy of what I signed. The wait in the ER lobby was about an hour until I got taken back to have my vitals grabbed and told I'd be sent to a room soon and then was sent back into the lobby to wait for another hour. They do have an RN that politely walks around the lobby checking on the people waiting and nicely asking what their symptoms are to see if there's any more urgency. I've never come through the ER before but I feel like 2 hours to get to a bed wasn't so bad considering it was a Friday night. I came in around 8 and was into an ER bed by 10:00. Shout out to whoever came in (forgot her name) who was so eager to answer my questions and even had someone else come in to verify my questions regarding insurance benefits and my concern for care costs. Shout out to my ER nurse named St. Luis who was holding it down in her pod with a good attitude, and let me annoy her about the placement of my IV line 2/3 times. But I did stay in that ER bed from 10:30 until they admitted me into an actual hospital room at 3:30AM. I felt like that was a really long time especially because I couldn't sleep due to the lights and the constant beeping/chaos of the ER. Not sure if that is a typical wait time or not but when I asked they said they were still waiting on a hospital room to be assigned, and I didn't get the anxiety medication I asked for around 11:00 until 3:30 when they moved me. I'm removing 1 star because as I was walking into the bathroom a nurse cut me to dispose of a full bed pain of someone's bloody urine into the toilet and left blood on the seat so I found a new bathroom. The second bathroom has piss all around the toilet which I inevitably got on my shoes and pajama pants so make sure you're wearing something with a tapered leg if you know you're coming in and some shoes you don't care about. There were also no seat covers in that bathroom which I feel like is needed in the sets My bed also didn't have any pillows or blankets, luckily I brought my own because it was freezing. I also noticed dried blood and just general uncleanliness on the handles of the ER bed.

Two days later, our precious boy passed away. My husband and I sat at his bedside every single second. When we received his belongings, his 18K gold crucifix necklace was missing. He wore this necklace with deep pride every day--it was a First Communion gift that originally belonged to his late great-grandmother. Law enforcement confirmed they didn't have it, and friends searched the car multiple times to no avail. Two months after losing our son, I reached out to the hospital. A representative called and revealed that X-rays confirmed he was wearing the necklace when admitted. It was present in two X-rays taken within the first three hours. By the third X-ray, it was gone. The hospital tried to claim it was probably lost in a bedsheet and that staff denied taking it. He was wearing it in the hospital for hours. Someone--a nurse, technician, or staff member--chose to violate and steal from an unconscious, vulnerable teenager who was dying in front of them. The hospital staff never even alerted us that it was on the X-rays. It takes just one rotten apple to bring shame to a hospital we placed our complete trust in. While not everyone is bad, the hospital's lack of oversight and refusal to take responsibility is inexcusable. Outside of this situation the medical care was very good.
