I can't say enough good things about Anything is Pawzible.  We have a very challenging foster…read morefailure, Darby, who came to us with severe anxiety, as well as resource guarding and aggression issues.  We started working with Yvonne Feeny a year ago, doing 1:1 sessions after failing with another trainer who did not have the skills or knowledge to help us with Darby.  The situation was dire.  We were scared and completely distraught. Yvonne has a wonderful way with dogs and is very equipped to deal with challenging dogs.  Darby quickly warmed up to her because she knew the right way to interact with him.  He quickly learned to trust and LOVE her.  She has become his favorite person by far!  She has helped us immensely by teaching us how to meet Darby where he is at and engage him.  Make no mistake- you have to do the work if you want your dog to get better. It is HARD WORK.  But you will have a knowledgeable, funny, and caring teacher right behind you if you work with Yvonne.   Darby is still working very hard, but he has made such huge strides. In a year, we went from a dog who was snapping and growling at us to joining a group class!!!  We never thought this would be possible!!!  We just can't believe he is the same dog!  We just finished the Basic class with Yvonne and it was fantastic.  The Avondale location is spacious, so you have plenty of space to work with your pup and the homework is helpful and just enough- not too overwhelming. It is great value for the price! I can't say enough positive things about experience. If you have a challenging pup, this is the place.  There is hope. Thank you, Yvonne and Anything is Pawzible!

Frank has been wonderful! We're so glad we found him. We've got two rescued pugs that both have…read morebehavioral issues, and Frank spent three weekend days with us giving us training tips. We've gotten guidance on issues like lunging while on the leash, barking at animals on TV, and jumping and barking when people come over. After spending time with Frank, we felt like we had a plan, which has instilled lots of confidence and motivation in us. We also now board our dogs with Frank when we go out of town for long days or weekends. It's nice to know that they're in someone's home but also around other dogs (Frank's dogs and others that he is boarding), and that they're getting the same training we'd do at home. Frank truly loves dogs, and he's got a clear training philosophy that made sense to us. The first day we met him we could see that he understands dogs and knows exactly what to do to control them. We've been calling him the Dog Whisperer of Rogers Park ever since.

Frank was a wonderful resource. He showed us some training activities to do with Duncan, sometimes demonstrating with Duncan and other times with one of his brood of mostly rescue dogs. We left the training session with a printed handout of training activities and a renewed sense of confidence. I often get compliments on what a well-behaved little dog Duncan is, and I always reply with an enthusiastic referral for Frank. We recently adopted a second dog and we're so grateful that Frank offers a boarding service. It's great to know the pups will be in good hands when we travel to Brooklyn to visit my parents.

Bottom line, we like Carlos (owner) and we trust him with our dog. We wanted to share our…read moreexperience in a little detail here in case it helps people with a similar situation as us. We adopted a dog from a shelter about a year ago - he was and still is a great, affectionate dog. However, over the past year our dog has become increasing reactive around strangers and other dogs - his hair stands on end, he shakes, lays on the ground often, growls, barks, lunges and in general cannot just ignore them and walk by without a commotion. My husband and I got to a point where we had to keep him on a short leash and avoid people and other dogs altogether. We tried everything with no progress - treats, loose leash, etc. but nothing seemed to work. Rather than live in fear or seclusion, we decided to find a trainer to assess our dog and to give us practical tips/real support on addressing this emerging behavior. Carlos was recommended by several people so we started with an initial private, in-home training session to assess whether our dog was becoming aggressive or if he was just extremely nervous. Carlos addressed several of our questions and prepped us for the initial meeting via email. When Carlos arrived at our house, we met outside and he explained the game plan on how he would enter the house and how we would interact with our dog. We were nervous as all hell because our 60lb dog growls and barks at people as they approach the front door and we weren't sure what would happen when Carlos walked in. We forgot that Carlos was a professional - within minutes, our dog was eating out of Carlos' hands! Over the next hour together, Carlos was able to gain our dog's trust as well as ours. We walked our dog together around our neighborhood, along the paths we usually walk on and he answered our barrage of questions along the way. By the end of our first session, Carlos was able to assess our dog and felt confident that we would work together to improve some of his reactive tendencies. Since that initial meeting, our dog has stayed with Carlos for the lodge and learn for 8 days while we were traveling - we received text messages with pictures regularly showing our dog playing the spacious area, sitting between other dogs in Carlos' care and generally looking very happy. Our dog walks much better after the week with Carlos - he doesn't pull as much and is very consistent with sitting when this handler stops walking. He's also improved a bit on his reactive tendencies - while he is still nervous, he hasn't laid down or lunged at anyone or any dog, which is a HUGE improvement for us. We plan to use Wolf's Lair K9 every couple weeks for the day training service. It is a little more expensive than dropping off at a day-care (which we also plan to do), but we like the service and care that Carlos provides, which is hands on, one-on-one training and walking. Rather than just having a tired dog at the end of the day, we have a more obedient one after working with Carlos. In closing, we are very satisfied with our experience. As this was our first time using a trainer for our dog, my husband and I had a lot of questions, but Carlos' breadth of knowledge was comforting for us. He was familiar with our situation and gave us practical training goals to address the issues we raised with him. We as owners are also more confident in handling our dog (especially after seeing how well he listened to Carlos at the first meeting). Seeing is believing.
