The flea market has a very wide variety of items from antiques to tools to food to household supplies to blankets and vegetables and dog bones. Not much changes from year to year, but you end up wanting to keep going back for the tried and true favorites (we tend to pick up big jugs of Maple Syrup when we're there), and the special finds (on our last trip we bought a beer stein). The prices aren't always cheap -- the vendors who deal in antiques tend to know what their wares are worth, but most are willing to haggle. You have to pay to park -- I believe it's $5. You can also park across the street in someone's yard for $2 if you'd like to save a little a walk a smidge farther. We typically go the yard route simply because it's a little quicker to get in and out. Expect to spend 2 hours or so walking around if you want to see everything and bring the sun screen -- there isn't a lot of tree cover.

The fact that it couldn't be exchanged is one thing but to talk to a young girl so rudely and unprofessionally was upsetting. It's a tradition to stop every time I visit Cook Forest. I can honestly say it's the best store around for gifts or anything relating to Cook Forest. Some of the local gift shops have nice items - sure - but I have found they are mostly overpriced or mostly all homemade items. Parkers has a great selection of everything from toys, t-shirts, mugs, sandals, purses, jewelry candy etc. The list goes on and on. I enjoy every visit and always find something new to take home as a treasure. I love the jewelry the most!! Parkers has a nice selection of homemade jewelry as well as sterling silver and much more. They are open into the fall season. If it's before Memorial Day or after Labor Day I always call to ensure they are open. I was not able to "check in" when I visited the store over the weekend. I kept getting an error message stating I was too far away to check in but - I was there? I think it might be a mailing address or something off on how it's listed on yelp. While shopping at the DuBois Mall, I stopped in at Bradley's Book Outlet which also has several…read morelocations in Western PA and Youngstown OH (Southern Park Mall). This store carries new current books and magazines, and plenty of publisher overstocks and remainders at 40%-60%-80% & more off, plus 20%-30% off current New York Times paperback & hardcover bestsellers, 15% off all special orders and 10% off all hardcover new releases. They also stock Melissa & Doug items in the back of the store with infant & toddler books. There are $1 books and special items too. I spent a good amount of time at this Bradley's Book Outlet browsing through the various travel books (some a few years old) which were all deeply discounted. There were several Europe and Florida travel guides on the shelf and they also stock discounted "For Dummies" business books too. I picked up a few travel journal books for light reading, which were less than $5 each. I also purchased an Urban Dictionary and a Roadside Americana book for under $10. I would keep returning to this Bradley's Books and their other locations to browse the changing selection of discounted books. You'll never know what you'll find here!
