I had the dry aged Polish ribeye with cream spinach and chanterelles . Nice wine list. I couldn't get enough. even though i was stuffed, I went with the crème brûlée, which had a nice raspberry coulis. The table next to me was a group of bankers. Kind of reflective of the vibe of the restaurant. Waiters were attentive without being disruptive. Service charge is included, but in this instance the staff deserved it.

Well, now, if you're lookin' for a place to set your tastebuds on fire and make 'em do a two-step,…read more*Butchery and Wine* in Warsaw is where you want to be. You've got a quaint little spot that's tight but right--like the perfect pair of boots. The atmosphere? It's cozy, with a dash of refinement, where aged meats sit in their little "time machines," giving you a peek at the craftsmanship that goes into each bite. And speakin' of bites, those dumplings stuffed with oxtail? Well, I reckon you could set down your knife and fork and just grab 'em with your hands, because they're that good. A whole mess of flavor wrapped in delicate dough--pure comfort with a gourmet twist. Now, the Polish beef--well, bless its heart--aged 90 days and served with a peppercorn sauce that's a little bit regular, a little bit hard-hitting. Roasted garlic alongside it? Well, you've got yourself a party. You could say it's a flavor symphony, but I'm more inclined to call it a masterpiece, painted with a little bit of heat and a whole lot of love. And don't you dare skip the Spanish Padron peppers. They're roasted just right, bringing a bit of the Mediterranean to Warsaw. If you ask me, they're like the secret song on an album--unexpected, but the kind of flavor that sticks with you long after the meal's over. Now, if you think this place isn't impressive enough, let me tell you--this restaurant holds its own against *Casa Escobar* in Antigua, Guatemala. And that, my friend, is a mighty fine compliment. As for dessert, well, when you close out with sticky toffee pudding and a 20-year-old Graham's tawny port, it's not just dessert, it's an experience. A sweet note to end on, like a perfect evening under the stars. I'll tell you one thing: this night in Warsaw will be one I'll remember fondly--like a slow dance with a glass of something smooth and a plate of something even smoother.

I've been here twice now and while there are things I like - there are also things I dont like. And…read moreafter doing a lot of serious thinking, I'm going to give Barn Smoque three stars. It's the most honest and sincere review I can give them. They are okay - but I won't be coming here for my birthday nor for dates because well, it's not that kind of place. But first things first. Barn Smoque calls itself a smokehouse. No, wrong. You're not a smokehouse. I've seen those and you ain't it. Additionally, I might have been able to give Barn Smoque four stars if it hadn't been for the fact that their brisket looks and tastes like pulled pork.. Ergo - they don't know much about proper meat. A smoked brisket shouldn't look like pulled pork - period. No questions asked. I've been here twice and following my first visit I knew I had to make a follow up visit in order to be able to write a proper review. The place is newly opened and I wanted to give them a chance, especially since I love, love, love their burger joint (Barn Burger). During my first visit, I had their chili con carne. That dish is a weak three star dish. I appreciated the additions - guac, (Polish) sour cream, cheese and so on - but the chili itself was weak, bleak and bland. Seriously, the meat itself tasted like the chili con carne I remember from my elementary school lunches and that's not positive in anyway. As mentioned before, we also ordered their brisket during our first visit and if I were to write my review basing entirely on that brisket, I wouldn't give them more than one star. The brisket was not what we expected and have enjoyed before. So - don't order the brisket and that's nearly an order. But I needed to make a second visit in order to see if the mishaps of our first visit were just beginners (un)luck - so I went there and ordered their beef soft tacos. And they were okay. Nothing out of the ordinary, I've had better, but they were okay. The service is okay as well, very laid-back and straight-forward, which I like. The soft tacos comes in with tiny dishes of sour cream (didn't try it), salsa fresca (the cherry tomatoes were canned, the flavor gives them off immediately unfortunately..) and guac. Their guac is really, really good and that's why I'm giving them three stars in the end - i don't know if they make their guac on their own but it's really good, chunky.. Just the way I like it. I have mixed feelings about this place. Their menu is interesting (they have a couple of their trademark "Barn" burgers on their as well, btw), the prices aren't ridiculous and like I mentioned above, the service is more than okay. But yeah, if I want tacos or real (!) smoked food, I won't be coming here, that's for sure. Their food doesn't taste like it's been smoked for half a day and the quality is so-so. It's okay - but nothing beyond that. It just makes me miss The Beast in Paris even more...

I sat at the bar area and enjoyed a Malva Negra cocktail while I waited for my food order to arrive. It was the waitresses recommendation based on my mention of not preferring sweet drinks. The infusion of blueberry and lavender was surprisingly more balanced and didnt tip the scale towards the sweeter side. (So I ended ordering another towards the end of the meal). Now for the food...I was just blown away. I ordered the special which was a large pork chop with some plum sauce concoction that I cannot describe other than being subtly savory and sweet but an absolutely perfect complement to the hefty, juicy and tender bone-in pork chop. I was already full at this point since I finished it all but the waitress did highly recommend the panna cotta dessert which I'm so glad I gave in and ordered it. It was topped with a black sesame sauce with bits of pistachio. Additionally, there was a portion of what looked like/tasted like dragons beard but it added another layer of depth to the already superb dish. The ambiance is a mix of cozy, trendy and elegant which can be more casual or more formal depending on your occasion. I came in around 2pm so I must've missed the lunch rush since I heard this place gets some longer wait times. As for the staff, the waitress and bartender were both extremely attentive and friendly. They both would always check in to see if I was enjoying the food and if there was anything else I needed/wanted. This place came very highly recommended by a local in Warsaw and I experienced why :)

Real local Poles were eating, drinking, and socializing here too. My young handsome waiter was friendly and spoke English well, he even let me taste two different wines before me settling on a decision. 33PLN/$8.25 Carmelized fried feta with Ramiro peppers, olives, lemon salsa, and seasonings. Fresh, fragrant and delicious. 26PLN/$6.20 Roasted Brussel Sprouts, ricotta, caramelized onions, sun dried tomatoes...also fresh, fragrant and delicious. 24PLN/$6 glass of wine. I highly recommend visiting Poland, you get so much for your American dollar! This was a great meal for only $21ish! I could've easily eaten more, but being my last night In Poland I decided to find some meat pierogis, my new favorite thing. Also in Poland, taxes are already included in the price, and tipping is not required! Though I always tipped a 8PLN/$2 or more if service was good, as it certainly was here.
