He took a copy of our plat of survey and told us we'd have a design back from him in a week since it was the off season. We never received a call back. When I called to inquire a few weeks later I was told Jim had been out of town but that he had a design ready to share. We never heard from them again. I never tired to call again. It's disappointing to waste time with contractors who seem to not want new business. The scope of my project was probably $60K or more and I can't even get a call back? I know it's Naperville and all but as far as I can tell my money is green. Oh well, we are happily moving forward with another firm who seems eager to work with us.

With summer finally here, we're out on our deck most every day. While we had the deck stained…read moreduring Spring, the brick paver landing was in serious need of some TLC with moss, mold and ants where there should be grout between the bricks. Thanks to Yelp Services, I quickly found Platinum Window Cleaning and Power Washing and requested a quote. Being a local business, I got a quick response and Sergio stopped by in a little while to check out the job. As he described what he'd be able to do for our patio, the man obviously has a passion for quality. He even had samples along of the grout he would use and when he quoted his price, it was very reasonable. He came back a few hours later and set to power washing. He has the washer on a trailer, not one of those portable units and man, did it do the job in no time flat. Moss, gone. Mold, bye-bye. Ants, sayonara! And the bricks looked great. He returned the next morning and brushed in the poly grout, taking the step of adding a little extra grout around the perimeter of the patio to keep the bricks on the edge stable. Since the weather was cooperative, he was able to return a few hours later and apply a wet look sealer and he also roped off the patio until it was dry. By the evening, we were able to move our Adirondack chairs back on the patio and enjoy a couple of cocktails under the stars. Great job, Sergio! Our patio looks new again thanks to you.

Years ago, these people installed the floor coverings for Envee builders in Lombard. They damaged…read morethe vinyl with a cut in the flooring about 2", when they came to do the repair, they cut a 4" square around the cut and put a piece of vinyl in that matched, except this made the problem worse. They should have replaced the whole section of flooring. The cut they made, which made it worse, caused more things to catch on it and looked worse than awful. Horrible pride of workmanship. Horrible. Never, never use these people. They are either clueless or do not care. Either way, never, never use them.

He mentioned removing the basement insulation that our builder put in. I questioned why I'd do that if we just paid to have the basement insulated 6 months ago. He said it wouldn't cost much and said that the foundation may not be plumb. I said if my foundation on a brand new house isn't plumb, I have bigger issues to worry about than insulation. This is when I was scolded that he's been doing this for 30+ years and if I have all the answers, then I don;t need him. I said I don;t have answers, I have questions. He told me he knows what hes talking about so I can do it myself. So if your OK handing MEB $20,000 - $30,000 and not being allowed to ask question, go for it. However, as a client, if you feel you have the right to know whats going on with your build, run as fast as you can from this guy. Bummer I can't give less than one star.
