The general admission is free and worth a stop on its own, but the behind the scenes tour is what makes it. They take you into the car storage building, walk you through how deliveries work, and share a bunch of details about the facility that you'd never notice just wandering around the showroom floor. The building itself is also genuinely stunning architecture. Only real downside: you'll leave wanting a new BMW. Book the tour in advance, I don't know if you can do it day-of. read more

It was a rainy day and we weren't in the mood to do much. We still had our weekly transportation pass so we decided to check out BMW Welt (BMW World) when we learned it was free to go in. While there were some interesting automobiles on display, it wasn't as much as the ones in Motorworld. They didn't have much food to choose from either. There was a station where robots make some drinks and dispense sweets which was fascinating to watch, but that was about it. There was a museum next door that we could have gone to and paid for, but we decided to skip it based on what we already saw. Overall, it was not a bad way to spend a free day but I won't recommend going out of your way if you want to see cool cars. Motorworld is a much cooler alternative. read more

BMW World is located next to Olympic Park and and is a multi-story exhibition, delivery, adventure museum, and event venue. On my summer trip to Munich I stopped by in the evening as they are open late till midnight. On display they have the latest innovations in BMW cars, bikes, and SUVs. Also on display were Mini Coopers and Rolls Royce. I had no idea Rolls Royce had an EV, it sure is beautiful, but at over $450,000, way over my budget. :P Overall, this is a fun place to check out some really cool vehicles. And the best part is that it's completely FREE! It's conveniently located next to the subway station exit for Olympic Park. read more

It was pretty cool getting to see a wide range of cars, including the latest BMW models. What makes the experience even better is how interactive it is you can actually sit inside many of the cars and take pictures. There are also fun photo booths! We stopped here to queue up for the BMW factory tour. The Welt is a multi-functioning customer experience space for car buyers, car/BMW aficionados and general tourists. They have different sections including cars from BMW (of course), but also other divisions such as Mini and Rolls Royce. Within the BMW brand, they have an excellent motorcycle display of recent model bikes that able to be sat on and interested with. They also had a concept section and a "M" (Motorsport) section as well. MUST SEE if you are even a small car enthusiast. read more

Please note the BMW Welt is pretty much a museum that showcases new new car concepts in a sleekly designed building. They also have some MINI Cooper displays. We actually didn't even go to the real museum since we thought this was cool enough and just wanted to get back to downtown Munich. Despite the PCR routine during the pandemic, I had a great experience here while most of my questions were answered by the guy who has curly hair and speaks in traditional Mandarine. If you're a fan of BMW, you definitely have to come here for the newest and coolest models. during your trip in Munich. He did not only answer my question but explained more tech issues that were related to my questions. When I was here in 2012, I would have given this place 5 stars. Back then you could sit in all of the cars and motorcycles and they had shows with stunt drivers who rode the dirt bikes up and down the stairs. Now, most of the cars are locked and they stopped the stunt shows in 2016. On the positive side, they still have a reasonably-priced cafe and free WiFi. They are right next to the Olympia Zentrum U-Bahn station so it isn't out of the way if you go to visit the Olympic grounds and the memorial to the Israeli athletes who were killed there. read more

Why 5 stars? Because this was the coolest car dealership ever. --- --- --- After visiting the BMW museum, we were told that the Welt was still open for a few more hours. I mean, anytime a car dealership is open until midnight, that's pretty cool in itself, right? Much like the museum, the best part about the Welt is the amazing architecture of the building and the displays. The cars are all surrounded by really cool lighting that makes for an auto photographer's dream. Is car porn a thing? This is nothing like a typical dealership in the U.S. where the second you step foot on the property, you're hit up by an over-anxious sales person. I think they are used to people walking over from the museum who have no intention of purchasing a BMW. As a matter of fact, the only time someone spoke to us when we wanted to use the picture-taking machine they have setup by one of the really nice cars. Definitely worth the walk across the street once you're done with the museum - there are multiple cafes here too, in case starring at six figure cars all day works up your appetite. read more

Being a big fan of BMW this was a treat to see. The massive, gorgeous, classy Welt displayed dozens of current and historic BMWs and BMW Motorrad bikes. Coffee shops, restaurants, gift shop, information and demonstrations on everything BMW! Experience the cool Double Cone building with a race car display, see the BMW i Electric evolution cars, and all the M sports cars anyone could salivate over! We missed the last factory tour of the day on our trip here, but enjoyed walking around the Welt, the outlying buildings and the BMW Museum. This is a MUST for any German car fan and BMW owner! So much fun, so much information, and so down-right cool for a car guy like me! Finally getting to Munich and the Welt was a bucket list item checked off! read more

BMW Fans need to make this pilgrimage. It's part of the European delivery option but if you are in Munich, swing by and check out this and the BMW Museum. It's a super cool building with food and drink, small exhibitions, and of course BMW swag. They are building something new so pay attention in late fall 2019 I think. I would give it more than 4 stars but a couple things were not working when went. Like the driving simulator rig by the i cars. Still super cool. Especially at night. read more

Really cool museum/car dealership space in a beautifully designed building. I have family friends who have purchased cars from here to drive around Europe before shipping the car overseas. This is a way for people to basically make an excuse to come to Germany, drive at break-neck speeds on the Audubon with their beautiful fast new car, and then get a huge discount on their purchase compared to purchasing one stateside. Their rollout schedule for vehicles is not unlike that of Tesla in California. People have scheduled appointments every hour or so to meet with a sales representative who teaches them all about the bells and whistles of the car before sending them off to explore. As for the rest of the museum, you can see BMW's role in aviation throughout history, as well as view their current motorcycles, sports cars, and sedans (many of which you won't find in the US). Like any dealership you are allowed to sit on/in any of these autos and enjoy photographs with them. In the gift shop they have neat odds and ends you can pick up for gifts for family and friends. All in all it is definitely something cool to check out and free! If you want to rent one of their super fast cars you can do that, too, for an hourly fee. read more

As a former BMW owner and a fan of the brand I wanted to check this out while visiting Munich. According to TripAdvisor, BMW Welt (World) is better and cheaper than the BMW museum across the street. The building is architecturally interesting and looks cool. I was pleasantly surprised by BMW Welt. Yes, much of it is a showroom for BMWs, but I still enjoyed it, but don't just take my word for it. My wife, who is not into cars at all, even enjoyed herself here. I thought I would need to limit my visit to 30 minutes since this wasn't really her thing, but it turned out we were able to stay a lot longer. I liked seeing the cars. They had almost every model there for you to see and you could get in anything 5 series or smaller. Pretty cool! We both liked seeing the samples of different paint colors and interior decorations like wood or carbon fiber. I really liked seeing the i8, which looked extremely futuristic. My wife was especially impressed with the Rolls Royce exhibit. It was cool seeing the attention they pay to the smallest details. They had a similar exhibit on Mini Coopers. They had a good gift shop; I liked how you could actually buy things there without having to pay an arm and a leg. I got a shirt for €20 and a nice pen for €3-4. Much less than anything I ever bought from my local BMW dealer back home. This is all I saw of BMW World. There is a cafe where my wife had a snack while I looked around. You can also get a tour of the BMW plant which lasts around 2 hours. I didn't have time to do this, but will have to check it out if I make it here again. There are upper levels of BMW Welt that I didn't visit, but I think you can see BMW motorcycles up there. I'm not sure about this but I think you may also be able to arrange for a test drive of a BMW. So it's a cool place with lots to see and do and I would definitely recommend it if you are at all into cars. read more

So much fun! It's free to enter, there's lots to see, and if you're lucky you'll get a chance to ride in one of the cars! It opens until midnight so you have all day to chose a time to visit. BMW Welt is very close to the Olympic park, so if you're coming all the way out to this side of town, there's plenty to do besides BMW stuff. And the metro stop is the same for one of the Olympic park stops, so it's super convenient! We came here on a German holiday so it was very crowded, but the space was so large it didn't seem so bad. They had lots of BMW cars (old and new) that you could observe and some of them you can even sit inside. There was also a nice collection of Rolls Royces and Mini Coopers, also owned by BMW. The building itself is gorgeous and all the displays are beautifully done. Great lights, pictures, music. Whoever curated this place did an awesome job. If you care for a souvenir, there's a nice gift shop as well. I also liked that there was a cafe and clean restroom upstairs! Now my favorite part was getting a ride in the 1958 BMW Isetta! This tiny little 2 person car with a rear engine that opens from the front was my favorite car here. It's the cutest thing I had ever seen, I instantly fell in love with it. But at some point in the early afternoon we saw an employee driving it outside, so we followed and found out that they were offering free rides around the building in it! We just had to sign up to be contacted by our local BMW dealership to offer us car specials. No big deal, you can unsubscribe later. But we got a free 45 second spin around the block and it was totally awesome. The employee said they demo different cars on different days and at different times. So who knows, you may get lucky and get to ride in something cool, like this Isetta! read more

My favorite part of the BMW showroom was the Biker's Lounge (Lodge?). About fifteen contemporary motorcycles are displayed, and people are encouraged to pretend ride them. Perfect for anyone who has little interest in actually driving or riding on a motorcycle but who thinks the idea of doing so is fun! The cafe has a wide selection of bottled beverages and places to sit. Perfect for people who are thirsty after touring the museum and take a moment to plan the next excursion. It was neat to see all the Minis one can buy. I had no idea that the Mini Cooper was not the only model available. The AWD off-roady version that is both mini and not mini was comical to see. read more

This is the showroom part of the BMW complex. The newest models of the ultimate driving machine are here. There's an electric car you can test drive around the first floor. In the complex are the factory and the museum. There's a small portion for Mini and motorcycles. The top floor is a driving track where you can test drive your future purchase. So cool! Like I need more reason to love BMW. It has been the most reliable car I've ever owned and I plan on keeping it til it stops moving. So, a visit here was a must. They have models we don't have in the US. It's German car heaven! They have restaurants here and merchandise stores. They have bathrooms downstairs and there was a guy in the women's restroom that shocked the heck out of me - and he proceeded to use his cellphone. A guy in the women's restroom using a cellphone! Best of all there's free Wi-Fi. If you're taking the tour, the meeting location is behind the information desk. If you're checking in to pick up your BMW, there's a VIP elevator that will take you to the top. If you go upstairs and take the bridge, you can go to the museum. This is pretty much an awesome car dealership. Allowing you to interact with things, games and give you the specifications you'd need or want to know. They offer lockers to stow your bag for free and have a small cafe. The restaurants were closed off for some reason. One sign saying it was only for a private circle. We are staying by the Hauptbahnhof in München so we took the train to BMW Welt. Several months ago we made reservations for the full 2-hour tour of the BMW factory so we picked up our tickets at the ticket desk (located in the center of the bottom floor next to the café) and took the tour. It is an amazing tour but make sure to call ahead at least 4 weeks. The BMW Welt itself is a work of art. The structure is meant to look like the clouds from the outside, and inside it is modern and spacious. The cars are gorgeous, and many of them you can sit inside. And don't miss the gift shop. We parked underground! Right next to the Olympic Park and right off the main roads, it's ideal and affordable. As im not a car aficionado, it mattered not to me where we were, but my daughter actually dragged us around inside. We looked at all the cars, new and old, admired the structure inside. We had a blast. We didn't go all the way up but spent about an hour on the main floor. There are restrooms and a cafe in case it's hot outside and you need a break. Full disclosure: I'm not a car person. I drive a Honda Fit everyday. However, even I walked away from this building both impressed .... and wanting to order a BMW on the spot. I especially enjoyed the Rolls Royce area, including the ceiling display (make sure to see the back of the display!). My husband and I spent about 90 minutes here, including the gift shop area. I wasn't feeling too well so I went to the small café for a quick drink. About 5 minutes after sitting down I realized I was missing about €45 in change. I went to the cashier and he already had it waiting for me. I could not believe his honesty and professionalism. Overall, a fun stop on the way out of München. read more

Wow, if you're a BMW owner/fan, then you must not miss this place. It's a must! Even if you're not buying a car, this is an awesome place to check out. You can look at all of the current models on display and check out the specs and pricing. This review is going to be based on a service that I used which is called BMW on Demand. What is that that you may ask? Well, it is just like it sounds. You can rent a BMW on demand for an hourly rate! Sounds too good to be true? Yes, it is true! We rented out an M3 competition package for a special daily rate of 3 hours pricing(€50/hour) for 5 hours. This is my favorite part of my vacation in Europe because me and a friend took the M3 out to Ammersee, which is a beautiful lake in the countryside to escape the crazy hustle and bustle of Munich(along with getting to run the car at some interesting speeds ;)). If you've always wanted to drive the Roundel in the Motherland for a reasonable rate, then you must not miss this place. No other way to do Munich IMO. Freude am Fahren!! read more

Did European Delivery on a 2015 M3 back in May, and the entire staff provided top-notch service for an awesome experience. Aside from delivery, this is literally one huge BMW Group marketing display, so you see everything from Minis, RRs, and BMWs (obviously). Pretty interesting to see all brands under one roof. The Premium Lounge on the 3rd floor is also pretty nice with refreshments and chairs to rest in between factory tours or before vehicle delivery. Would definitely come back here again when time comes to do another European Delivery. read more

Fantastic! We visited the Welt as part of our European Delivery experience with our 2015 BMW 528i. The entire experience was amazing. The staff of the Welt provides first class service, including a private Premium Lounge with food and drinks. This is the only way to buy a BMW, and is actually cheaper than buying in the United States. read more

I'm not usually enthusiastic about tours, as I feel like they're very hit or miss, depending on the guide, but boy, the BMW Welt tour guide was one of the best I've ever had! I can't recall his name, but it was something pretty German, and the amount of knowledge this guy possessed and his patience with our group of about 12 not exactly mature guys was amazing. We met him at the meeting point towards the front, were handed the audio systems, and off we went. He gave us the spiel about the history and design of the building, which is absolutely gorgeous, I must say! The fact that it's a sustainable building designed to keep heat in when needed, and expel hot air when necessary was mind-blowing. Now what really put the tour over the top was the fact we asked some not very common questions that were pretty difficult to answer, mainly about the construction of the Welt. How our guide responded after a few of these questions was so memorable, it was something along the lines of, "These are all very interesting questions, however, I'm just not able to answer them as I'm not the architect and I can only offer my own educated guesses. To get the answers would require you to ask the creator., which I am not." O_O All of our minds were blown by this answer because it just made so much damn sense (and kind of sounded straight out of The Matrix)! We then encouraged him to give his educated guesses, as this dude was just whip smart. Our guide also brought us up to the conference/events area with a beautiful outdoor deck, which he said he normally doesn't show, but since we were so interested in the design, he brought us up! I can't recommend this tour enough, especially coming from the boring BMW Museum tour! read more

I was still very interested in seeing the new models that BMW is working on. Welt is pretty much one stop for everything BMW and Mini. The building is sleek and modern, but interior wise it is pretty much a fancied up BMW dealership with all the bells and whistles and than some. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, since they don't charge admission to visit this flagship dealership, where you can rent a BMW, either classic or the latest,; pick up your BMW here via European Delivery; watch someone do some basic stunt motorcycle riding; or even grab a meal. Now the coolest thing about Welt is their location, which is right across from BMW's headquarters, and their main production factory in Munich. This is your starting point for the guided factory production tour, which takes you through the production plant from start to finish. The tours are offered in English and in German and only during the weekdays. I would advise that you call ahead by phone to arrange the tour, which they won't do by email. The cost when I went it was about 8 Euro per person, which is pretty reasonable, since you get a 2.5 hour tour of the plant and you get to see a lot of things. The guide we had was really good and was able to give us a good background on how BMW manages their plant and what they do with their waste materials. We thought it was well worth the price of admission. read more
