Hamzeh escalated to yelling on a customer service experience. On Nov 6, I had the experience of speaking with Desjardin after a premium payment was returned on Aug 27 when paid on Aug 25. Since returning the payment Desjardins did not provide any information or statement on this matter. Then on Nov 6 I received a Late Payment Offer, this was odd that I sent payment and it was returned. I emailed to CSIN@DFS.CA with my policy number requesting for more information on why my payment was returned and why they are sending my a late payment offer when it was paid. And provided a screenshot of the statement showing it paid and returned. I followed up in the afternoon by phone after receiving no response and spoke with Hamzeh. Hamzeh first denied ever receiving payment and I explained look at the statement that you received by email. I think requested for a ticket#or reference# for his submitted inquiry. He then started reviewing my request with some seriousness. Then he started confirming reference number for the payment and more. His reason for not receiving payment is because it was sent to the wrong department. So I started reviewing and it was confirmed payment was made to "Desjardins Securities". So I inquired which should I have made payment to and he responded it should have Financial in it. I looked through the list of Payees attached to this and it was identified in French! I explain to him I am an Ontario customer, your statement even says your address is in Toronto. Your Payee is not accessible, it should be in English. He started raising his voice and yelling at me it's my fault and I had to follow up when Desjardin returned the payment. I expressed to him the payment was made it was your responsibility to provide a statement if you did not receive the payment. Especially when it was due in Sept, Desjardins waited in excess of one month to follow up. I did ask Hamzeh for his employee number, he was reluctant to supply. In the end payment was made. It's frustrating that Desjardins needed to escalate to blame rather than peaceful resolution. If Desjardins believes their payee can be found in french and english, they have a responsibility to write that on the invoice. There are more professional ways to resolve matters and it's not yelling at a customer and playing the blame game.
