This is a great place to enjoy a cozy atmosphere, there are candles everywhere and cute decorations. Geiranger is the smaller of the two with only 250 residents, but it's Norway's third largest cruise ship port. It definitely felt like it when Jamie W. and I were there during a two-hour stop on our fjord cruise from Ålesund (review: https://bit.ly/3ckj0Zb). Beyond looking at the torrent that courses through town, we didn't much to do but eat. Options were pretty limited unless you want a hot dog. Like real bad. This cafe is on the main pedestrian walkway between the campground parking and the cruise ship terminal, and we weren't that hopeful of its quality based on its prime location. It was also drawing a lot of loudish tourists from various nations, and they weren't mindful of either the noise they were making or the excessive space they were taking. It was enough to test the limits of my butt-clenching abilities. However, we were pretty delighted by what we ordered and shared. First up was the 190 NOK ($19.30) Ham & Cheese Sandwich, generously portioned on a baguette with cucumber slices bringing fresh crunch (photo: https://bit.ly/3QHsgWn). Then there was the 280 NOK ($28.50) Dagens Suppe (Soup of the Day), a spicy and creamy carrot soup topped with toasted croutons and scallions (photo: https://bit.ly/3R363BP).
