Small yet tidy ground, home to the mighty Blyth Spartans. Fantastic atmosphere for such a small club with thousands of supporters!

There's a New Castle episode airing tonight, I want to watch it. It's just after House and just…read morebefore Game Of Thrones. I'm going to rush through this review so I can go and watch it. Oh crap, my shoelace is Untied. First-Hand Experience: Yelp asked me to include more information about my personal experience, so I'm letting you know that I have seen Newcastle United play live, in person, on several occasions, both at SJP and at other stadiums. They're one of my top 3 top flight teams in England, their crowd is intense and second to none, and even though it rains a lot up here, watching Newcastle play is always a real joy. Even though the Ashley era has killed some of the optimism, I will always love watching Newcastle live and look forward to doing so again. *** return to regular review *** Known as The Magpies or The Toon, this is one of the greatest teams in the world not to achieve anything for a long time. They have one of the loudest, biggest, grandest old stadiums in Britain, and have one of the most intense fan bases you will ever find. This team is the very passion and lifeblood of the region, and yet success eludes them, for two reasons. (1) Keegan's Newcastle just missed out on the title by a hair at the end of the season due to Evil Fergie. (2) Mike Ashley then bought the club and is running them into the ground with no real investment and no real chance of success. Formed in 1892, they play to a whopping 52k fans, in "jailbird" black and white stripes. They've been in the top division for almost all of their history. Bobby Robson, along with Kevin Keegan, is one of their recent heroes as manager. Alan Shearer is one of their greatest ever players, as well as Beardsley and Cole, in recent times. They have won the Premier League 4 times, but only in the old days... 1905, 1907, 1909 and 1927. They have been runners up only twice, in 96 and 97 both under Keegan. They've won the FA Cup 6 times, most recently in 1955. They were FA Cup Runners Up 7 times, most recently 74, 98 and 99. They were League Cup runners up in 76. That means they have not won anything since 1955, and they have not been runner up in anything this century. Not good enough for a huge great club like Newcastle. If you're ever up in the North East, one of my fave parts of the whole world, make sure you try a Cheese Savoury sandwich, go to a place called Superpie in Gateshead for the best Cheese Savoury you'll ever have. I am taking one star off this team until Mike Ashley leaves. Then as long as he sells to a respected owner, who takes care of the club properly, I will give them the extra star they deserve for being such a great club.
