Service was also reasonably good but at one point I had to hail a waiter to take the food order as they just did not come to our table. Admittedly, it was packed (Saturday night) but still they should keep an eye out for those who still need to order their food. The waiters just walked past and served the other tables for the extra drinks etc.. The first drinks on arrival, however, were quickly served so no drama there. The ambiance... well, it is a great place to go to, a brown café as we call it and a fun place to be. But..... the music was too loud after a while (André Hazes..) and you could hardly talk. I don't think a café bar restaurant should turn up the noise to make it "gezelliger". Especially when it is packed. Maybe later in the evening when the dining is finished you can turn it up a bit but not when people are still sitting around their tables enjoying their meal. Next time we will try a weeknight to see if the noise is less. I do hope so!

What a wonderful afternoon to spend in Theetuin Eemnes. This place is so romantic with all it's…read morelittle hide-aways in the garden. Very authentic, brocante style. You just choose a nice place in the garden and get whatever you like from tea with any kind of cake (the carrot cake is very nice, or home made apple pie or caramel with nuts) to a good bottle of rosé or a glass of beer with a nice mixture of snacks, depending on the time or mood. Also a fun place for kids, good to play hide and seek or enjoy the animals (chicken and peacocks walking around everywhere) or play a nice game of 'Ganzenbord' inside on a very large playing board you can walk on! There is also a little brocante shop and classic cars are displayed. It is so romantic, you can actually get married here. Anyway, when you are in the neighborhood and the weather is nice, you make sure to stop here for a very special moment in a world of it's own. Prices are a bit high, but well, it's worth it, especially on a day like this when the sun is shining brightly...

Food is good although the High tea wasn't what I expected. They got away with adding some supermarket cakes, sprinkles and canned fruit. I expected scones, clotted cream, jam and some more sandwiches at least. So be sure what to order. Tea itself is from a good store but it's teabags. Real high tea or afternoon tea should be more fresh and different types of tea with some more background information. The ambience makes it a nice experience so that's why the 3 stars.

The interior is hip and cool and its a shame that it cant stay. Well, at least we can enjoy it for eight months, because that how long they will be staying. When we came in the restaurant was almost empty but during the dinner the place got packed and all the tables were filled, even on this Tuesday night! You can order a la carte or the weekmenu (not a surprise menu). We ordered a la carte. The wine list is also quite big. I actually wanted a gin&tonic from the g&t bar downstairs but this is open only from Wens-Sun and it separate from the restaurant.. So we went with some wine and water. We got a starter from the house and some bread as well, which was kind. The food I had was all very nice and I enjoyed my dinner a lot. The staff was friendly and quick and it was a very nice evening. The dishes all looked great and delicious as well. The plates looks very nice. I suggest you make a reservation since this place is getting more popular by the day. Walking inn without one will probably be disappointing. This place is not cheap. For three courses each we paid about 40 euros a person. But if you get the week menu you pay 33 each. But still, its worth the price!
