I have dealt with thousands of companies during my time in that position and Belvidere gave me the worst experience I've ever had. I researched them heavily and they looked great. I hired them under the expectation they had in house crew to complete the work. They sent an unqualified subcontracted company that made mistake after mistake. - Dug up wrong wall - Damaged my yard as well as my neighbours driveway (that they didn't ask to use) - Several crew members spent two full weeks urinating all over my yard as the port a potty outlined in contract never was brought on site - They damaged my AC unit and filled it with mud - The first brackets they made were several inches too short (as per engineer drawings) they lied to me that they were fine but I forced them to get proper length ones after an argument - The first city inspection (which I had to do myself) failed because they installed and blocked two brackets incorrectly - First spring after repair my basement leaked in a spot within the waterproof membrane repair I had paid for - Their solution was to hire another company to fix from inside with epoxy (still not done) - Leak was on wall under steps and deck I paid to tunnel under. I cut open deck to see that they never backfilled about 10' of wall and created a waterslide and ditch to funnel water right to the foundation they were meant to waterproof. This caused a leak in a spot that never even leaked before (pics attached) - They had told me the crew they subcontracted on my job would not be working for them any longer, but that's who they sent to correct the backfill problem months later. When I asked why they were there instead of the Belvidere foreman I was promised the lead of that crew got into a verbal altercation with me, was physically threatening, and finished by saying "F off and fix it yourself" he then told the crew to pack up their stuff and leave. Through all of this I was very patient until the breaking point. I have never once received a visit, call, or even email from the owner of the company apologizing for these massive failings or offering a solution. Avoid this company at all costs.

Set up an appt. for him to come and take a look at my foundation issues, 5 days hence. The day of the appt., he called me and told me he couldn't make it and scheduled the appt. for two days later. He never showed, up, called, nothing. So, I'm searching for another contractor, after taking two afternoons off from work. I wouldn't trust them now to show up to do the work if I hired hem. Very poor business practice.

The job they completed was excellent! The problem came when the guy broke he new shower head. He…read moreneeded some water for his job so my Mom took him to the bath tub. He went to move the shower head and it broke off completely. The thing is that he didn't have to touch or move th shower head to get the water, as the shower head is way above the faucets and did not interfere with his access to get the water he needed. He told his boss that he justed touch the shower head however my Mom said he pulled it. This shower cost $119.00 and my Mom (87) and Stepdad's (82) have combined annual income is $32,000. I contacted the company boss and told him what happened. He said he would look into it. He got back to me saying "the guy that completed the job was a very good worked as he'd been working for Martens Foundations for some time. I responded "That they should pay for a new shower head to be installed because there was no need for it to be touched or adjusted". I didn't hear from Mike again for sometime. In his next email he felt bad about what happened and said that he would drop off a cheque to my Mom to cover the cost to replace the shower head. I responded thanking him, and that was back in mid July. My Mom has not received anything to date from Mike. I feel it is really a sad day when a large company cannot cover the costs for damages they caused, especially for a couple very senior people that are not in the best of health. This is not acceptable behavior for a large company to take advantage of very low income seniors!
