I truly can't add anymore than the previous posters have said. Pathetic comes to mind. Multiple…read morecalls, some call backs but in the end the system is down more than the Titanic. This week we were down again, I called the automated line and the known outages were no where around here. Finally get a hold of tech support and he says our particular tower has had some complaints but wasn't on the known outage list. Well, two days later we still don't have CCT coverage and now it's the weekend. They don't work weekends, except for the poor telephone message takers (outside contractors) who take your complaints and forward them to the Junk file at CCT Command Center. Adding (and at great expense) a secondary internet service using satellite technology (no StarLink yet) I wouldn't even be able to post this message via CCT. Hmmm, wonder if we could petition Congress to have the US Postal Service take over CCT.

I pay $69.99 a month for 10 megs, and I get around 8.5 when I'm lucky. The real problem is variability. I can't use video streaming reliably. The speeds constantly vary hugely all the time, and video streaming needs stability, so even with the minimum bandwidth requirements met, the speed is so unstable that it's always buffering. Without being able to use video streaming, I might as well have old fashioned dial-up for free. It's tough to run a very rural wireless system, but the technology does exist and it is available for providing true broadband speeds wirelessly. If CCT wants to do this, they can. The current system is primitive. It will cost a bunch to modernize it, and they're not going to do it.
