My experience here was a bit of a mixed bag. I took a day to process everything, and I figure the…read morebest way to present things is just to go in order. The building itself is nice, and the waiting room is comfortable. However, while there's a ramp to get up to the building, there are no buttons for auto doors, which is problematic, and they're on the narrower side. It should be noted that they share an entrance/building with NovaCare, which is downstairs. I saw the stair entrance when I went back for my appointment but didn't see any signs of an elevator. This is just a huge fail. It's not necessarily a condemnation of the doctor? But you share the space and you're obviously going to recommend patients to their PT services, so wouldn't you want to make sure it's accessible. You also control the accessibility situation at the entrance. The staff was all lovely. From the initial setup of the appointment, as well as on the day, each person I spoke to was professional, polite, and warm. The nurse/tech listened to all of my concerns and was patient with me while getting x-rays done as I had my service dog with me which always makes things take a little extra time. Now, we come to Dr. Brodell. I chose this office because my spouse came to see him recently and said that everything went well. My initial take-away was that I found him to be rather...dry. Not a bad bedside manner, but neither was he warm, by any means. On further reflection, he was dismissive, and didn't allow me to voice all of my concerns and symptoms. He randomly interjected with questions that had nothing to do with why I was there, and frankly weren't any of his business - had I gotten the covid-19 vaccine yet, why did I have PTSD, etc. The PTSD one was particularly out of line, IMO. When he first came into the room, he walked right over to my service dog and tried to pet him - he didn't ask my permission, he didn't hold out his hand to my dog in greeting, just tried to plop his hand onto my dog's head. As someone in healthcare, I expect a greater level of understanding of service dogs, their importance, and the etiquette involved. They should be very well aware of the fact that interference of any kind can cause serious injury or even death to a handler. It was beyond inappropriate. But, even so, it's common sense - and polite! - to *ask* before petting someone's dog. As far as the diagnosis is concerned, he didn't bother looking at the previous x-rays I brought him, though he looked over the radiologist report at least. I wanted to discuss things with him more, but again he didn't seem interested in letting me voice all of my concerns or ask questions. He didn't want to give me a cortisone shot due to being a diabetic, which is understandable. However, if he'd bother to open dialogue with me, he'd know that I do very well on steroids and have had *extensive* steroid treatments done, including cortisone treatments, in the last few years for an unrelated issue. I wouldn't have cared if the answer was still "no" but he should have allowed me to speak and give him all the information, especially as a brand new patient that he doesn't have the full history on. You can't simply assume. There was just a certain level of arrogance and dismissiveness through the whole exchange that rubbed me the wrong way. He seemed as though he wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, rather than take the time to go over my *relevant* medical history and get to know the new patient, or allow me to ask my questions. I shouldn't have to fight for my time, or have someone else advocate on my behalf in order for medical professionals to *listen* to me. That's kind of their whole job. Frankly, I doubt I'll go back. Maybe he was having an off day, but the whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth and I've wasted enough time on doctors that blow me off to know that it's more likely to continue in this fashion than not.

My mom had a home visit today. A therapist left the doors open between the house and the garage…read more When I came home from work, all 3 of my indoor cats were in the garage without my knowledge and got outside when I opened the door. I was able to catch 2 out of the 3 cats. The one cat that has not returned is my mom's favorite and sleeps with her every night. My mom is very upset and cannot sleep tonight. She misses her fur baby of 5 years. The cat would not have been able to get loose if a lazy worker had just had some manners, up bringing, and good old fashioned common sense to just close the door. My mom is heartbroken because our house pet has not returned. I have serious reservations about allowing anyone into my house who is too lazy to close the door. .The worker never told anyone that the door was left open. Since we live in a raised ranch, my mom never goes to the lower level except when she leaves the home. I consider his actions to be neglectful and unprofessional. I am asking for swift disciplinary action be taken. Apparently, the workers who have been sent out on home visits have not been trained on how to enter a person's home. If they are this unprofessional, how do I know that my mother is getting the proper treatment as prescribed. If someone is too lazy to close a door, I cannot trust them to carry out and document the proper treatment for her. What kind of people are they sending into patient's homes?
