Last summer I was exploring the Texas coastline and I fell in love with Rockport. Not knowing what…read moreI was in for, I entered the city beach, found parking, and immediately realized I had nothing I needed to enjoy the amazing beach where I'd just wiggled my toes in the soft sand. Then, I saw it... a little blue shack with a pirate flag just across the dirt road by the beach walk! LAND HO! I knew there must be a bountiful booty for me inside! I found a cute beach dress to replace my jumper so I could actually wade into the water. There was sunscreen and a pirate trucker hat for me too! As I was telling the owner how she truly saved me that day and more unsolicited detail about why Inwas there and how my life lead me to this seeet little shack... She asked me if I wanted to try a sangria or a beer as well. Uhhhh, YES please!! Amazing. A yummy sangria in a can and I even bought. Pirate Shack cookie for my can. Voila! Perfect beach day! *** knowing you can get IcE & WATER here is probably the best tip I can offer. Enjoy!

This coastal-themed gallery is in a nice little retail space, right across from the Winery on the Bay in the Rockport Arts District. They keep regular hours, but they also have a monthly Arts Walk that the Arts Council coordinates, and they stay open late, serve up some wine, beer and cheese, and show off their greatest works! I really enjoyed the nautical themed paintings, as well as the ones of the local Aransas County wildlife. They also do frames, which look really neat! The owner, Mike was super friendly, let the dog come on in too! The shop was super clean, well lit and fun to visit! Rockport has a reputation for being a funky arts town, and this gallery does a great job of representing!

Received a gift card to this store from The Lighthouse Inn during our stay in August…read more Really cute store and a lot nice gifts. I decided to buy a swim mask for our granddaughter- seemed to be a really nice mask with fabric closure -good for girl's hair. Mask was more than gift card so I put the difference on debit card. Our granddaughter Was excited about her mask until she tried it in our pool and it immediately leaked- not good and no way to exchange since we live in Dallas. I called the store and spoke to Carrie and she said not to return the defective mask but she would refund money for it - a few days later I received money that I put on my debit card but not the gift card money. We felt the Store personnel was not honest regarding this issue and we will not be returning the next time we are in Rockport. Buyers beware!

I really enjoy the palm trees that line Business 35 along the sidewalk of this shopping center. They really add to the coastal feel of this town. Included in this shopping center is Navy Army FCU, a Metro PCS, a Advance America, Salon 35, and some other shops. The signage is clear, and the place is well lit, and its right on the busiest street in town, across from the Super Wal-Mart. Right down Colorado Street is Rockport's newest water/skate park.

Unless you are travelling from Houston to Corpus Christi you will probably never find your way to…read morethis store, but if you do, take your time looking. I totally fell in love with this house/gas station/turned into a thrift/antique shop .... and more. If you have thought about it, then it might be here. All sorts of antiquey gems and not so antiquey gems. Vintage and soon to be vintage. You will have many moments of "oh god I have to have that", or "I have never seen anything like that". Outside you will find a huge amount of repurposed metal made into yard art and of course the Texas star is everywhere. Just when you thing the tour of le objects de arte is over, and you are heading to your car, you look back and see this huge, beyond huge red chair. It is so big that you need a step stool and then use the supports of the chair as a ladder to get into it. G decide to scale the mighty chair and sit for a photo opportunity. A family of 5 -10 could easily fit it in this chair. The chair itself had to have been 20 feet tall or more. If you take your picture in the chair, and send one to the owner, he will place your picture and the date it was taken on the wall. Yes I did buy some things when I was here. They all fit in my luggage, but if I lived here I could leave some serious cash at this place. Don't sneeze thru Refugio or you will miss this place.
