Specifically, we brought in Nailed It Contracting to replace and paint the kitchen ceiling (after we had taken down the nasty '80s-era drop ceiling that was concealing old water stains and crumbling plaster), repair and paint the walls (which were full of damage and several layers of wallpaper), demo old built-in cabinets and lay tile on the floor. He satisfied each of these tasks. The old paint was from a different era and did not come off easily. Sanding wasn't working like it should, and the surface beneath was uneven and extremely difficult to work with. Instead of giving up or cutting corners, they improvised on the fly and used a coating to flatten and stabilize the surface so it could be repainted properly. That level of problem-solving and professionalism is rare these days. The job took much longer than they originally estimated, but they stayed committed the entire time--working through cold, damp, misty weather and even during long nights just to make sure the project was done right and done on time. Their dedication and work ethic are absolutely top-tier. Communication was constant and clear throughout the entire process. I have worked with several contractors before on this and previous homes. I apparently have high standards few can meet. These guys were really good. Nothing is perfect, but they sure tried to be. My deck is gorgeous and solid. Everything it should be. They were flexible and helpful and professional. They also provided and architect to design the deck to meet our needs. I had some concerns after the build was done and they were paid (not saying they did anything wrong, but some things I would have liked to have been done differently). They bent over backwards after the fact (and after they were already paid) to make us happy. Including spending more time and materials on my project. I would literally use these guys for anything they would want to do for me. Great experience. Also, their quotes were either in line or less expensive than others for the deck project.
