View of lake beautiful even on a cloudy day
Randi S.

We have stayed here the last 5 years every July. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The private cabins are clean and well equipped. The view of the lake is breathtaking! You can also use the pool right across the road .

Let me start by saying the rooms are fine and clean BUT are certainly no steal of a deal--plus we stay in the off season. The hotel efficiency's are small but the bed is comfortable. The cabins are all being updated and are nice, the best part is having a full kitchen. There is a Large house you can rent on the hill-which is epic. Well decorated, great views and lots of bedrooms and massive open floor kitchen living room with balcony. I have stayed in all of them and have first hand direct knowledge of each. I will also say, for perspective, all neighboring properties are cheaper. I have chosen those over BL for price a few times. The competitors rooms are very comparable and clean, just dated. Although they may have less extra perks-beach boat dock things like that. There is a nice but small open field in the middle to throw a frisbee and what not. Parking is fine with well marked spots. The WIFI is great which was added in the past few years and was really needed because up until that there was no service. Blue Lagoon has a great but small beach with a boat launch right in the middle of it. The water is well marked with buoys and also has many Adirondack chairs and a tiny swing set area. They have row boats and such for you to use. They used to have a crappy ping pong table, I don't think that's been replaced. The dock is decrepit, off balance, dangerous and narrow. We (about 50+) have stayed here for about a decade straight. Always in September on what may or may not be their last weekend open for the season. We always rent the entire place out. We have never been given a discount or group rate. They have actually raised the cost per night yearly. We have handicapped family so it is one of the only locations ON Lake George that all the cabins are on one level. For this reason we can not leave. When we first started coming we were provided a fair amount of fire wood for each night. For the past few years they have been extremely stingy and down right disrespectful with the offerings. They have actually given us construction debris a couple times as our wood for the night. I'm talking interior wood trim and paneling with full blown nails and stuff (pics attached). When we have approached them asking for more wood and explained we are even willing to buy it, they provide soaking wet wood that won't burn or just ignore it or give us barely any at all. They have instructed us to get fetch it ourselves from a scrap pile across the street. Does it make sense to have people carrying wood cross Route 9N on a blind corner. Not to mention the fire pit has been falling apart for years. They have done continuous upgrades to the property which is amazing but you can't help but wonder if this "bonus" weekend we provide to them doesn't help cover some of those costs. We are not looking for something for nothing. Furthermore they are so short sighted they could be profiting by providing an additional service. Again we have no choice to leave and they must know that. Really feels as if they are neglecting a concern of their biggest most consistent customer-not cool!

Came here with a group of college friends and we had a great time. Michelle was an absolute sweetheart and was very helpful to us. She was great to talk to and we could tell she really cared about all the guests and providing a wonderful experience which is what we had. We originally had the unit above the office but since one of the cabins with a nicer view was available, Michelle upgraded us with no hassle at all . The cabin was very clean when we first arrived and the living room was spacious while having a very cozy feel. AC worked great and so did the rest of the appliances. I had some great sleeps on the bed and really nice showers too. My friends and I had a blast using the property's kayaks. You can just pick up life jackets and oars and just go out anytime before dark. The location of the resort was great for a sunrise kayak on the water and we got an incredible view. We were within a 10 minute drive into town so we got to have the serenity of the quieter area but could still enjoy the shops and restaurants nearby. I will 100% return here for whenever I come up to Lake George again for a trip.

I like that it's family owned and has kayaks for guests to use. The fact that the entire property is flat is great when it seems 90% of other places on Lake George have steep hills that you need to walk down and back up to enjoy the water. And they do bonfires at night by the water which is fun.

If you go to the Lake George area and want a place to stay definitely go to Blue Lagoon it is the best place to stay and the cabins are very cheap. I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone. The most best anything about Blue Lagoon is the view. When you wake up you have a amazing view of the Lake.

We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds, it was very spacious and clean. There was only two draws to put our clothes so we each only got one. The shower was big, but the water pressure wasn't great. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would recommend staying here. Also there is a roof top which is very nice and has a view of the lack and mountais. You definitely need to check it out.

The room had two king beds, a small miracle for a man accustomed to one, and the soundproofing was a triumph of human engineering. Even with Oktoberfest raging below, once the balcony door was closed the silence was so complete that I could almost hear my own thoughts apologizing for existing. The hotel sits right on Canada Street, which is the main artery of Lake George's little heart. Shepard Park is practically across the street, full of families, music, and the particular chaos of people on vacation trying to have a perfect time. The staff managed to stay cheerful through it all, smiling with the kind of sincerity that must come from good training or good souls. Parking was a game of Tetris, but I was grateful for the garage. Once my car was wedged in, I had no reason to drive again. Everything that mattered was within walking distance. The rooftop terrace deserves a poem, though I am too lazy to write one. The lake spread out below, blue and calm, and for a few minutes I believed in peace on earth. There is no hot tub, which feels like a crime against nature. The patio outside the pool almost begs for one. Imagine sitting there in January, snow falling into the water, steam rising like forgiveness. The restaurant did not thrill me, and the prices made my wallet flinch. Still, it was a fine stay, the kind that makes you feel momentarily better about the human race before the bill arrives to remind you of reality. Four stars. A lovely place, too expensive for what it is, but worth remembering all the same.

We have been coming every winter for the past six years and have made some terrific memories here…read more There is so much I genuinely like about this place. The location is convenient and feels like part of our ritual now. The staff are almost uniformly kind and welcoming to our kids and us. They remember us, greet us cheerfully and make this feel like a home base. The outdoor hot tub was a particularly welcome amenity on this past brutally cold weekend and it helped us warm up a chill that seemed to go straight to our bones after time outside on the lake. It really is one of those few places that feels like a welcome retreat no matter the weather. If there weren't any flaws, this would be a much easier review to write. But there are flaws, and they are things that should have been tended to long ago. The rooms have definitely seen better days. Many of our dresser drawers barely opened. The refrigerator was hardly cool. Furniture had visible damage and some of the electrical outlets were non-functional or battered to the points that plugs fell right out f them. These are not deal breaking in isolation but taken together they left us feeling that the room was tired and poorly maintained. A little thoughtful maintenance or investment here could go a long way and make the rooms feel a lot more comfortable. Another disappointment this year was the breakfast buffet at TRs Restaurant. In years past it was a highlight and something our kids looked forward to to prepare for a cold morning out. This visit, the quality seemed to have declined and the selection felt smaller. The restaurant itself still has a lovely lake view and a cozy fireplace, and the service was still friendly and attentive, but the breakfast spread did not live up to our memories. So I find myself landing on a three star rating. If you take this place for what it can still be, it is a wonderful family resort with great staff and some truly nice amenities. But right now the condition of the rooms and some of the public areas combined with the breakfast experience hold it back from being the much stronger destination I know it can be. Here is hoping that ownership puts some money back into the property so it can recapture its full potential.

What started as a simple trip turned into something much bigger a weekend that's about reconnecting, laughing, catching up, and picking up right where we left off every year. By the time the Super Bowl rolls around, it feels less like a trip and more like a reunion. The first week of Winter Carnival just makes it better. The ice bar, great food and drinks, the energy around the resort and town it all sets the tone for an unforgettable winter weekend. A huge part of why this works year after year is the people who make the place feel like home. Courtney, the general manager, keeps everything running smoothly and consistently she sets the standard. Tyler and Nicole at the bar are always a big part of the weekend, and Becca and Tonya at the front desk make arrivals feel easy and welcoming every single time. Even in the heart of winter, the place is always spotless thanks to Keisha and her housekeeping crew something we appreciate more than most people realize. Sixteen straight Super Bowl weekends, countless memories, and friendships that keep growing. Some traditions just stick because they're done right. Can't wait to see everyone again at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake George. Already counting down.

Along with drinking in the pool, which is a serious thing, especially if somebody gets hurt while intoxicated and in the water and they were not drinking just one or two they had a whole 12 pack in front of them that they were drinking. Anyway, we told the manager and the manager told us that it doesn't matter we allow that Well that sealed the deal for me. I did not wanna go back. Before we left I did speak to the new general manager that was just hired on and she told me that she will definitely take care of it and apologized for the inconvenience. Whether it's actually stopped or not, I do not know that was a major downside to me and it was also a major drawback to ever wanna go back to that place again. I do not ever tell anyone not to go to a place because there's always room for improvement and if they improve then by all means go back, but I cannot say that I would recommend this place to anyone either. If you're ever in the area and want someplace to stop, you can stop there if you would like, but it's not my recommendation. Our food came out with a pretty big gap between plates, I was finished with mine by the time another in our party got hers. I will say they were very gracious seeing as we were a half hour late. Food: Pretty underwhelming, you could get similar or better food at your local diner. Menu is somewhat limited as well especially for sides and drinks. I got the french toast, it wasn't very moist at all, uninteresting flavor, the strawberry garnish was dried up on the inside so must have been left out for a while, bacon was fine, maple syrup was good. I had a few bites of the omelette which was good and home fries which were on the dry side and without much flavor. Value: It wasn't too expensive thankfully despite being marketed as a 'fine dining experience' I'd say value was about even with the low quality food, french toast was $11. Overall definitely would not recommend, you could get better food at a diner or cafe.

I truly love that you have the option of playing some shuffleboard or corn hole as you dry off from all the cannon balls you did in the pool. The fire pit is my personal favorite, and love this as a perfect night cap to sit and listen to the songs of nature or music from your phone! If you check in on Yelp, don't forget to claim your s'mores kit! I'm a sucker for s'mores! The room we had, Room #118, was a really quiet room. The housekeeping did a great job preparing the room for our arrival, and cleaned it to perfection on days we wanted the room made up. Our room was equipped with two queen size beds, so there was no cover hogging on this trip. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but comes complete with everything you would need for a getaway. The heated lamps in the bathroom are a nice touch, especially on cooler nights. Our shower had a continuous leak that we couldn't adjust, so we had to let the water drip; we couldn't hear anything over the AC, so that was fine with us. The continental breakfast is on the sweeter, more sugary side, and we honestly decided to explore other options for breakfast to better start our day. If we were going to be bad eating this vacation, we wanted to make the calories count - like, ice cream every night for example. The staff and overall spotlessness of the Heritage is what really made us come again for the third time in a row; we will see you again soon!
