While under my house setting some rodent traps, i noticed a portion of my foundation (a sill) was…read morerotten. Of course, it had to be repaired. When it comes to the foundation of your house and the money it costs to repair it, you want to use the best company available. You only want to repair it once. I spoke with countless people--those who had their foundation repaired and those in the building trade--for guidance. Many had bad experiences. I initially called two companies I knew nothing about to come out..I went beneath my house with both of them during their inspection and learned there was a 2nd rotted sill and a major beam that needed to be replaced. I asked for references from both companies. Neither company was local to Palestine. The first company seemed okay, but had one bad BBB review from a veteran so I decided not to use it. I almost signed a contract with the 2nd company until I read the fine print that absolved it from any damages the repair might cause to just about everything on my property including my driveway. I write all of this to say I did a lot of research to find the right company since the repair was big.. Tritico is a local construction company. My neighbor used them and thought highly of them. The mason I've used suggested I use a contractor and not a foundation company since he'd seen several foundation companies ruin the brickwork on homes. Homeowners usually don't know who is on the foundation company crews or how much experience they have. Tritico was excellent. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. This was NOT a fun job and the fact that one beam to be replaced was key to the support of the house made it even more difficult. Tritico takes pride in its work. These folks have integrity and did the best job they were capable of. I was also realistic: I knew there might be damage to my drywall, plumbing, and/or brickwork, but that didn't happen. Also note, I didn't ask Tritico what the cost would be because I wanted the job done correctly regardless of the cost. In the end, the cost fell between the estimates given to me by the two other companies. Also note, I did go beneath my house to inspect the completed work. Tritico is terrific. I would use them again in a heartbeat for just about any construction work.

Hired this contractor to build a small 10x12 building on a existing slab. He said it would take 18…read moredays and after around 30 days he walked off the job because he couldn't pay his help once he exhausted the money we agreed to. Just like another reviewer he would show up late, leave early, spent too much time on his personal problems, always something. His response is the typical contractor garbage that the scope changed and that is a lie since he didn't finish installing the door, all the sheathing and roof metal, trim, soffits, insulation, plumbing vent, dryer vent, caulk, paint, tie in water, clean up etc etc. I'm not saying he isn't a nice guy with a wealth of carpentry experience, I'm saying he has so many personal problems and lack of motivation that in the end you will have to find someone to finish what he started or finish it yourself like me. If you want to hire him I wish you good luck.

Kyle was very detail oriented throughout the whole build process and was also very open with us on what things would cost which helped us make decisions on what we wanted in our home. He let us do some of our own work like creating all the metal work and even helped us install the antique beams in the living room. We have been in our home close to a year and they continue to keep in contact with us and stand behind their product. One of the main reasons that we decided to choose KJ Homes for our build was that they only do a select number of homes a year, guaranteeing that your project is a top priority for them. Kyle was at the house everyday checking on the contractors and making sure everything was to his level of satisfaction. He is very picky about what goes into his homes and has some amazing contractors that work the same way! If you are looking for a truly custom home then you need KJ Homes to build it! Some people might not want to be as hands on as we were during the building process, but you will have a high quality product either way when you work with Kyle and Jana!
