Reda knew within 30…read moreseconds what my physical issues were and why I have them, some of which I've only learned after many x-rays and doctors visits. He provided a very professional and knowledgable massage that focused on what my body needed. Reda can sense if your body needs a lighter or a deeper touch, depending on how your muscles react. After the massage I felt calm and comfortable, and that feeling was even stronger as a result of being in my own home. I could then go straight to bed. Reda also gave me advice on how to treat my body better at work, so that my issues don't get worse. I will happily book more massages with HemMassagen Stockholm because I feel cared for and that my health improves with each session.

I really thought that someone coming into your home to give you a message would be more closely aligned with the niche of offering convenience than true expertise and I kept that opinion through about half of the deep tissue message (you can select from any of 4 styles: relaxing, deep tissue, Egyptian, or classical). I've had a fair number of deep-tissue work done before, as well as a myriad of other therapeutic and physiological treatments so I know the usual methods of approach and what to expect... Then I realized Reda (the owner of the business which he started 3 years ago) was approaching the message in a more careful way than I expected, testing the mobility of various muscle systems before and after his treatments and I started to pay more attention and give his treatment more respect. By the end of the message he had diagnosed almost all of my ailments without me telling him about them, had the suggestions for treating them (and not necessarily just via more massage time), spent some extra time going over the stretches he wanted me to do, and explaining how he thought these things were affecting me body now and how they would play out in the future. I know my body pretty well, but Reda figured it out and more in 60 minutes. He truly speaks the language of the muscular and tissue system. Not surprisingly, he has worked in the field for over 11 years as of this review and has done extensive work in the medical massage field, sports therapy treatments and even treats some of the competitors in the Swedish TV show "Gladiatorerna" (Rena is a pretty strong guy himself). He has a few other massage therapists working with him, so I can't comment on the expertise of everyone, but I'm sure they will be happy to tell you about them as well. I found the receptionist extremely friendly and helpful! The most impressive thing I got was how much Reda seemed to actually care about my health. He gave everything to me straight, and really stressed what needed to be done to fix the situation. When I asked about getting more deep-tissue work, he told me what to ask for in a massage and said it doesn't matter where I go, and that I could also do a lot to fix these problems on my own. That really increases my trust in someone. This guy knows his craft. I'm sold on HemMassagen. Very highly recommended!

The restaurants here are good, except when they aren't. Tonight (Christmas Day, Dec 25), we had…read morebooked an overnight stay with a Nagi three-course dinner, and all of the courses, service, and English spoken were a bit lacking. The last at least brought some amusement, as we puzzled over what we had just been presented, as the first waiter left us to ponder our options: three courses, any you like, all served together, unless it's a dessert, the ramen Finnish. My partner had surmised that ramen would be served as a finisher, I that it was some Finnish peculiarity in the ramen department. When we ordered genmaicha tea, from another waiter, we heard that genmaicha also Finnish, concluding that they had actually run out of both, and that both waiters spoke the same brand of pidgin English. How does a Japanese restaurant ever run out of tea, though?! Later overhearing another table that ordered in Swedish, we also confirmed that yes, "X finish" indeed meant they had run out of X. We ordered the duck breast, chicken skewers, oizushi sushi, moriawase sushi, sorbet, and pannacotta, and a cucumber flavoured sparkling drink. These people do not know what a pannacotta is -- it was some very disappointing dense sponge cakes, over-whipped cream almost turned butter, ketchup-spritzeled with raspberry sauce. The soda was at best a palate cleanser, and all but one of the moriawase sushi piece types (three kinds, two each, plus the four oizushi pieces) were boring. The other dishes were a bit overpoweringly umami-savoury; much too heavy for the companion rice dish. Service took forever. The baths are nice, and the lighting somehow makes all the brutalist concrete look quite lovely. We also attended a stellar sound journey held in English, after attendees were polled for "anyone not speaking Swedish?", and us raising a hand. The rooms are nice and functional, but the bedding less soft than the lovely bamboo ones they sell in one of the companion stores.

This tough guy though loooovves European spas and parading around in pretty themed pools and slippers. It'll be our little secret. When planning our trip to Sweden I found Yasuragi had many fantastic reviews, was featured in blogs and boasting numerous awards. We checked in here for one night and had a great welcome. The entrance is beautiful and you are greeted with slippers, a robe, and a black bathing suit. Our basic room was small but comfortable with a nice bed and beautiful shower. I definitely was all about the heated tile floors for my footsies. The spa activities were pretty extensive and there was so much more to see and do than we had time for with only one night. We didn't enjoy any of the massages or other spa treatments. There was a fun pedicure area with fish tanks we didn't get a chance to explore. Even the schedule filled with relaxation techniques, yoga, and mind and body exploration classes was something we couldn't spare time for. What we did enjoy was the very large spa area with beautiful modern and Asian inspired water features. Cold plunge pools complimented by different hot tubs were refreshing. There were saunas, steam rooms, and a beautiful large pool with different areas for relaxation. My favorite though was the cascading hot tubs outside with views of the water and perfect sunset and sunrises over Stockholm. The changing rooms were pretty nice as well with private hot tubs for relaxation. The meals we had at the restaurant that night and the next morning were both enjoyable and there were several items that were gluten free that I could easily eat. Breakfast included a huge display of delicious items buffet style. By the time we were forced to leave we had grown pretty comfy in our steamy delicious environment. Stepping out into the cold unforgiving Swedish winter was not at all pleasant.
