The seamstress had added pea-sized buttons on my derrière, where buttons did not previously exist. Jacqueline was not only quick to respond, but was able to fix my problem in less than 15 minutes. This, I see, as a victory, because the seamstress who I went to in the first place had looked me dead in the eye when I told her I didn't like the outcome of my dress, and asked her to remove the buttons, and said "I can't do that. It's sewn on." Jacqueline was not only pleasant to chat with as she quickly brought me back from wedding nightmare dreamscape, but she walked me through exactly what she was doing. Her space was cozy and clean. Her attitude was very welcoming and funny. She is clearly an expert in the space. I wish I had gone to her in the first place and would recommend her to anyone looking to put a very special dress into expert-yet-affordable hands!

During my final dress fitting, she worked on my dress with it on my body for almost 2 hours until she got the final look and fit we both wanted. She worked very meticulously on every small detail of my dress that needed attention and in my opinion went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met and exceeded. I went in this morning to look at hair accessories and shoes to go with my wedding dress that I had…read morepurchased at another retailer. When I entered the woman at the front pointed me to the back where I would find them. I was very disappointed in the shoe selection-- they were mostly VERY high heels and not what I'd wear with a wedding dress. Perhaps they were for the prom dresses? Or I'm too stodgy? Or too tall at 5' 9". The hair accessories displays looked like something you'd see in a bargain corner that had been looted. There was a placard above stating that there were more selections online. I did actually check their website just now and am put off by the fact that every bride model pictured in that section looks to be younger than 30. It would be nice to see some age diversity to reflect the demographics of their customers. We're not all young brides. I still gave them three stars because some of the dresses I saw as I was walking in and out were pretty and they primarily are a dress shop.

I brought my family and she was rude to them, too! First question from her - didn't even share her name - "Are you buying today?" Well, we were planning to find "the" dress and were ready to purchase right away as I make decisions quickly. But it happened to be my first time looking. As soon as I said (excitedly) that it was my first time trying on dresses she said "well you can try on 5" before I could share anything else - and apparently told my mother prior to even speaking to me not to touch anything on certain hangers because it's "very expensive" (even though the staff told us to go pick dresses while we waited for this woman to meet us as she was LATE for our appointment). Every question was met with a rude answer. She said she needed to know what I want to try. I said I had a list of dress codes from the website to help pick dresses. She says "well I can't look those up, they are different by store." I say ok, and pull up a wishlist I made on the website with pictures and names. She says "well I don't have those dresses, I know by looking at the model." I say ok, well I'm at a loss can she help me? And start giving her a basic idea what I'm looking for. She doesn't have suggestions so we decided to just go with what we already had picked out from looking while we were waiting for her. She asked me my size; I say 6-8 depending on fit and she looks at me and says "well it'll be probably 8-10, welcome to the world of wedding dresses" as she walked away to get the dresses. That alone was extremely disheartening and by that point I didn't even want to see any dresses there anymore. I tried on 3 dresses and promptly left with my family. The short story: don't go here if you're looking for any help at all...or any level of kindness/compassion as a customer or as a person.

I didn't feel pressure to buy a dress the first time I went and wasn't pressured out of my price range. Everyone was really kind and helpful. I felt absolutely in love with a dress and it felt really good on me, the sample was just a tiny bit tight but otherwise I was in love. I had no issues with my experience actually picking a dress. The main reason that I felt I had to write a review and why it's 3 stars is that I was guided to buy a dress that was much too big for me and it was extremely disappointing. I put it on and felt I was drowning in it. I usually wear an 8 or a 10 and I think that's what the sample was and I was told to go with a 12 or a 14 and that 14 is better because it's easier to take in dresses than let them out. I WISH I had asked what size I was wearing so I could have gotten that and just had it taken out a smidge. My seamstress was Brenda, their preferred seamstress, and she said this has been a trend and mine has not been the hardest to fix by a long shot. I do recommend going to wedding angels, but I wouldn't trust their guidance on what size to order. Also some of the things I was told could easily be altered were not such as easily removing and reapplying an applique on tulle which you actually can't do. I wish I could have gotten the sample dress and Brenda said others have said the same thing.

My wedding dress was made entirely of lace and needed to be hemmed while preserving a long train. I was so nervous about altering such a delicate dress, but Maria flawlessly hemmed it and perfectly recreated the lace along the bottom. You would never know it had been altered--her craftsmanship is truly exceptional. She also noticed a few areas around the bust where the lace placement looked sparse and thoughtfully added lace to create a more balanced, beautiful design. It honestly made my dress look even better than it did when I bought it. One of my biggest concerns was wearing the dress strapless. With a larger bust and after having two kids, I worried I'd need to add straps for support. Instead, Maria added internal structure to the dress that kept everything perfectly in place. I felt completely secure and comfortable all night long, and I never once had to worry about adjusting my dress. If you need wedding dress alterations, Maria is the person to go to--especially if your dress has lace. It's clearly her specialty, and her talent is unmatched. I am beyond happy with the care, skill, and love Maria put into my dress. She made sure every detail was perfect, and I couldn't have been happier with the final result.
