It is based up on the second floor of the Liverpool John Moore's University student union building. Not only is it good for students looking for work, but it's also a great idea for recruiters looking to employ a specific age range or group of people with similar interests and skills to what they need. I've had two jobs through Workbank over the years. One was simply a flyering job which was easy, casual work when I was in my first year of university. The second was an 8 week writing contract after I graduated with my Journalism degree. This was really well paid and I was pleased to get a rate like I did from a student recruitment agency!

Average agency really - I found a brilliant job on their site but they took so long in sending my…read moreCV into the client that I actually missed the position and ended up finding out a few weeks later that someone else had been interviewed and got the job. The staff were very nice, but the agency fell down where it mattered for me.

Really appalling agency - the worst I have ever worked with. Only put one star as I couldn't give…read morenone. Kept saying they would find me work and then contacting me with jobs paying a really poor salary compared to what I had been earning before. They would get really upset when I would say I wasn't interested and be quite rude on the phone saying "Well what else have you found?" I told them I wanted a role with progression, they sent me for an interview at a firm who turned me down on the basis that I wanted to progress! They will just send you for anything! Eventually asked to speak to a manager who was very rude and not at all helpful so I emailed their head office. Head office contacted me, full of apologies, saying the consultant I had been dealing with before no longer worked for the company, and she would put someone else on the case, who would be ringing me every week to see how I was getting on. I got one phone call asking me if I would be interested in a role, in a firm I had specified to them I didn't want to work for. She seemed most put out that I didn't want to go for the role and didn't contact me again. I then called to see if any other roles had come in, she said not but they had sent my CV to a few firms. When I asked what firms she got all flustered and named two firms, one of which was the one they had previously sent me on the interview for, who didn't encourage progression and I had specified I never wanted to be sent there again. When I told her this her reply was "Well it doesn't say anything on the system - oh wait - it's written on the back of your form." Absolute joke! What kind of system is that? I then asked for a call back from her manager as this was getting ridiculous, waited two days and no phone call. I rang the Liverpool office to ask why a manager hadn't been in touch and I was told "Lisa did ring you but you didn't answer!" I was told Lisa was out of the office and someone would call me back. I asked for the head office number, I was told they didn't have it, I said I would hold while they find out to which the response was "Well I'm in the middle of an interview so you will be waiting an hour" I said that's fine. They then put me on hold, only to come back and say no one was available to speak to me, and "I've had to leave in the middle of an interview" and I was assured head office would call me back. I then received an email from their head office saying they are satisfied they had dealt with me ok and I was to find another agency! Do yourself a favour and find another agency!
