As Americans, we (general "we") typically take this type of convenience for granted as there are drugs being dispensed 'round the clock on almost every corner (the legal kind, of course!), but I assure you that when ill in Rome, this could very much come as a savior. My husband arrived to our Roman holiday with a touch of food poisoning, and thus we made our way over here so that we could hopefully curb the effects so he could enjoy sightseeing. The pharmacist was efficient and friendly and we were on our way within moments. Protip: Just ask for what you need and don't be shy. These guys have heard it all and it won't help to sugarcoat it.
