Dates of visit: September 7 + 8, 2025 We stopped over here on a previous trip to Vegas and noticed how quiet it was. This time when we came back, we definitely took advantage of that, playing for several hours between the two days, making our $41 really last (far more than it ever would on a slot machine!). I think we encountered maybe three people total across the two days so there was never an issue with having to wait to play a game and overall the "swipe" cost per play was very affordable. At the end we pooled our tickets for a bunch of candy that I definitely didn't need but naturally enjoyed immensely and the young lady that helped us with our tickets was very friendly. We originally had a reservation for a lounge daybed (with a canopy) at the Paris pool on a Tuesday. However, the Sunday before our reservation I received a call from the Paris pool manager explaining that the Paris pool was going to be closed for maintenance but I could make a reservation at the Blu Pool at Horseshoe. While I was sad I was not going to be basking in the sun under the Eiffel Tower, the Blu Pool turned out to be a great pool. Same chill vibe as Paris & not a party scene like other pools in Vegas. The other guests we talked to while at the pool very friendly & nice. The staff was great & very helpful. Our waitress was attentive & overall amazing. I made a reservation for a lounge daybed, which I thought was the same bed that I had reserved for Paris. However, when we arrived at 11:00am the daybed I reserved did not have a canopy & all the canopy beds were already spoken for + all the shaded spots for non-canopy beds were already taken. I also found out the Planet Hollywood pool was also closed & allowing their guests to come to Blu as well. We had a great time at Blu but we were only able to enjoy it for a few hours due to being in the direct sunlight & heat. I wanted to spend all day at the pool so it sucks that I was only able to experience it for a few hours. My suggestion for those who need shade, get there when the pool opens at 9:00am to choose your spot. Once you choose your spot you are able to leave & come back as you please. read more

Paid $140 for canopy/day bed, $25 for parking, told I couldn't bring snacks to the pool even though I read the fine print and it doesn't mention anything about no outside food allowed and then they let people in with starbucks coffee... and then they want to charge you 22.99 for a small cocktail, $40 DOLLARS FOR A LARGE COCKTAIL!!!! WOW. I can buy a whole bottle of liquor for half that. Oh but they give you your first bucket of ice free (charge you for any additional buckets). Then they have the nerve to close half (the deep half) of the pool. When I asked they said it's only open on weekends, I asked where it was posted and was told "I don't think it's posted anywhere". ON THE DEEP END The last time I stayed at Bally's, which is now The Horseshoe, was in March 2014. At that time the Blu Pool wasn't open for to the public as I believe due to drainage issues. About 9 years later I stayed at The Horseshow where I stayed for 5 nights in the second of July this year. During my stay I swam at the Blu Pool multiple times including on the day of my check-out when the weather at Vegas was 116 F. Each pool at each hotel has different features. At the Horseshoe the feature of the Blu Pool is the deep end, which is 15 feet deep. The deep end incentivizes you to swim. This isn't a party pool as a lot are in Vegas and because of that this pool isn't very crowded as others. Even though I enjoy the atmosphere of party pools there are times I want to relax when I'm at a pool. One of the most relaxing times when I was at Vegas was swimming at the deep end of this pool. You only get to swim at the deep end of the pool is if there are lifeguards at that area. The one thing I didn't like about the Blu Pool is the lifeguards aren't at that area the first hour and last hour when the pool is open. Even though the Blu Pool is free for the guests, people are on vacation would like if the deep end of the pool is available for the whole time. If you want to unwind I recommend swimming at the deep end of the Blu Pool. read more

If you're going to Vegas with kids, this pool is perfect for families. This pool has a deep end and a shallow end. They divide the depth by buoys. The shallow end is 3ft-5ft and the edges of the pool are lined with benches. So it's perfect for kids to sit and chill when they're tired of swimming, but still allows them to keep their body submerge in the water. Upon entering we just had to show our hotel key and they asked how many towels we needed. There was a crowd but people were still considerate in trying to distance, but it's a pool so what can you do. There's still a lot of lounge chairs but they ask that you not move the furniture We prepared ourselves by bringing our kids floaties and their own goggles, but they do have equipment for rent if needed. We had a pleasant visit and will definitely come back again. read more

This hotel pool is really nice. Bigger than other hotel pools I've seen. The towel attendant was super nice to us. They also have a free water station. The best part was that there was a shaded area towards the back end of the pool away from the sun. It was great to sit and relax and we didn't have to face the sun and the wind. Plenty of space to sit. The music was really good too. Not a dj, but really good not mainstream music. Will return to relax! read more

No bells and whistles but still a great pool! Loved the seating around the pool. Has a deep end of 13 Feet or something deep like that. Seating was always easy to find. There's food and drinks to order via bar or the servers that walk around. Bartender Ace was really cool and easy to talk to. Our server by the pool was very friendly and prompt with food. Drinks and food is high, I would recommend leaving out to eat at the Food Court. The palm trees surrounding the area made the pool look really nice. Not a very loud environment with the music or party goers. Very relaxing place. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed the Blu Pool. We highly suggest investing in a cabana for the day. You get it from 9am to whenever the pool closes. They keep the fridge stocked with bottled water, there is a TV, a ceiling fan, and misters. If you get there right away at 9am, you can probably pick which one you want time be in. It was $100 well spent. If you think you will finish a pitcher of drinks, get that. It's the best value. read more

What an enjoyable way to spend a late morning and early afternoon! We arrived at the registration desk, and were greeted in a very friendly way by the staff. We were given our fresh towels, and when we inquired about a daybed the process was simple. The daybed is essential on a hot July day like the one we had. A tip for visitors, the day beds can be rented for half a day, as opposed to the full day. Overpriced drinks but that's to be expected. When you're on the Las Vegas Strip there is a time for partying and there is a time for relaxing. As for me this past staycation, most of my time was for relaxing. The Blu Pool at Bally's was the perfect spot to unwind by the pool. On a May Friday leading into the brutal hot days of the Las Vegas Summer, my dad (flew in from NY) and I exchanged a good few hours of a vacation day relaxing here. In pursuit of relaxing in the sunshine, I appreciated the laid back atmosphere. On a weekday afternoon the DJ and blasting music were missing in action. As far as my lately omnipresent mellow mood on vacation, that was a good thing. When I am in the mood to relax on vacation, the last thing I need to hear is a DJ blasting very loud music. Instead of a loud party atmosphere what I heard were piped in songs from the late 1990s to today. Additionally, I overheard the passing monorail, chirping birds, and the summertime sounds of life at the swimming pool. It was so tranquil here that I dozed off. Serving as the main swimming pool of Bally's, Blu Pool is arguably one of the oldest swimming pools on the Las Vegas Strip. If this is the resorts original swimming pool, it dates back to the mid 1970s when Elvis Presley headlined Las Vegas. It would also date back to a time when this very hotel was the original MGM Grand. Back in the 1970s land in Las Vegas was plentiful which encouraged the majority of hotels to build out instead of up. This can explain the long walk from the two hotel towers to the pool. Unlike many of the new Las Vegas resorts a swimming pool deck is missing here. At Bally's, the guest cannot exit the elevator to be transformed by the swimming pool. At Bally's it is a hike to reach the pool that involves a walk into the casino, then downstairs across the mall and past the sports book. The South Tower is significantly further than the Resort Tower which requires an additional hike across the whole casino. The way I see it, the attached Paris Hotel's swimming pool is a closer walk to the South Tower than to Bally's pool. In similar fashion to Bally's public areas, the swimming pool, seems to have been untouched since Elvis Presley headlined Las Vegas. From my personal experience, it looks the same since I rode the monorail above it in the late 1990s and stayed in Bally's during the early 2000s. The only subtle difference I notice are that the tennis courts appear to be history. The Blu Pool is a standard large swimming pool that lacks the bells and whistles of sand, lazy rivers, waves, fountains, and day clubs. It is also in need of sufficient shade. The only shady spot besides the pay to rent cabanas was under the awning of the Blu Pool bar. This is where my dad and I moved the non luxurious yet comfortable chaizes to. What it lacks in bells & whistles, it makes up for in being the only Las Vegas Strip pool that I know of with a 12 foot deep end. There were a sufficient number of Life Guards watching over the pool. It makes up for the lack of bells & whistles in another way. Near the entrance and not too far from the monorail station is Splashes Convenience Store. At the time of my last visit and perhaps now, they are selling a can of 24 ounce Miller High Life beer for $2.45. The nice thing was that the friendly woman at the pool entrance let me bring it to the pool as long as I had a receipt and it was not glass. In the shadow of the Las Vegas Monorail and Bally's/Paris parking garage I enjoyed getting additionally mellow drinking a 24 ounce Miller's High Life while overlooking the pool. I can guarantee that it was far less money than at the bar and Cafe in back of me. The Las Vegas Strip is a place where some people want to party and others relax. Or perhaps a mix of both. When I am staying at Bally's and want to relax in the sunshine, the Blu Pool at Bally's is a place to be. read more

Stumped for where to kill time, Tim M. and I furiously searched online for cheap day pools. Blu really did the trick for us! We waltzed in for free (not sure we were that special, but it made us feel sneaky) and snagged a few lounge chairs pretty easily around 3pm on a May Tuesday. We stayed until the sun went behind the parking structure. I definitely liked how non-pretentious the pool was. The crowd is very "come as you are" and perhaps more on the older side, at least on this day. But I definitely liked the chill factor. There's a nice ledge on the longer side of the pool, which faces the setting sun and is perfect for hanging out. Sure, it's not super classy. You hear and see the monorail every 5 minutes, and the view all around isn't particularly stunning. Oh, and the birds sound wacko. But if you want some over-priced drinks and an easy place to hide away, this spot is definitely a good choice. read more

Positive: Big pool & only one on the Strip with an actual deep end, meaning one can choose to swim rather than just stand & drink. Music on a weekday was pleasant but not Dayclub-party-loud. Lifeguards are vigilant but friendly. Drink servers are friendly and prompt. Negatives: Limit of # of towels per person. Lounge chairs are falling apart. Cabanas are worn out -- curtains are ripped, some TVs & fridges do not work, no safety deposit boxes, and the same loungers are not doing well. Other than cabanas, there is very little shade. Major negatives - why I give only 2 starts: Showers do not work. (There are signs reading that people should shower before entering the pool, but that is impossible. Ick!) Water fountains were non-functional. Bathrooms were very dirty, even during opening hour. Pool promptly closes at 5:00 pm. Useful tip: If you are Total Rewards Diamond or Seven Stars, the daily drink coupons you get from the casino can be used for drinks @ the pool. Given that pool drinks start at $20 each, using coupons is a must. read more

This pool is pretty good. It has a really deep area which is good for treading water though swimming laps is pretty difficult given how crowded the pool can get (which is unsurprising as it is a Las Vegas Strip pool). Like other fancy pools like this one the bar has expensive prices but there are nice chair loungers, and relaxing here with food or drink is likely a good way to spend an afternoon. I mostly came for a dip in the water and actually swam a bit and treaded water which was really refreshing (cool water for certain!). The edges of the pool are pretty rough which is good for grip. The metal ladder into the pool can get hot to the touch in the very hot sun (I was in Vegas in late June on my trip to this pool). There was a representative from an alcohol company giving out free drinks while I was there but I was uninterested. I wonder how common that is? There are towels for use at the pool and while it isn't a fancy new pool, it is well maintained and not run down. read more

Ballys customer for over 40 years. Service has gone downhill. Pool deep end has been closed for weeks. Past couple of days entire pool closed. Excuse is no lifeguards. Every problem in Vegas is now "no staff"-talking point for casinos. The 5 on ice beer bucket was $25 in 2019, today $53. Can you say gouge? Does Ballys even run the pool or sub-contracted it? Be interesting once name change to Horseshoe if this poor service will continue. Oh and the $48 resort fee to use a pool that's closed? Will ask for refund but doubt it. We had a Groupon with a cabana reservation, and it was comfy enough. The cabana didn't have a safe in it (which is why people want cabanas), apparently because the hacker convention compromised them. The pool is actually great- nice and big with a deep end and a smaller kiddie-pool that adults sit around in. I really like the easy-going vibe of this place. I knock the rating down because I can't believe that in the middle of summer on a weekend, management allows there to be one person serving the entire pool. That woman worked like crazy to keep everyone happy, but she didn't stand a chance with the thirsty crowd. It would have been nice if we could have ordered some food service, but I couldn't bare to add any pressure to her. Not that she complained- she had a smile the entire time. That being said, if the pool is just a spot for you to get some sun and recover, then it will do just fine. Oh this was fantastic! I had been doing my homework and research so extensively about which of these hotel/casinos had the pool I was looking for. It was actually all the poor reviews about the Flamingo pool, which we decided to move our reservation from Flamingo to Ballys. Glad we did. The crowd was a bit mature... No problem! The music wasn't as loud! No problem! Although there was an actual DJ starting on Thursday... Which was actually a nice mix up from the piped in stuff. The staff was attentive and quick with drinks and food. Some of the girls even get in the pool and chill in the cabanas with you! The scene was overall pleasant. While yes, it may need some TLC, and it doesn't compete with the trendy cabanas and newer pool decks (I wouldnt give fewer stars just because its older),it is still a great pool for those looking for sun and quiet atmosphere. If you are looking for a laid-back pool without a crowd, this is the place for you! This was absolutely perfect for us, but if you want a party pool, look elsewhere. We went when it opened. We got our towels and were able to find chairs quickly. We even lucked out and got some with just the right amount of shade. We never went in the large pool but lounged in the sun and dipped into the small circle pool when it got a little too toasty. We were there from 10-1 on a Tuesday and it was never crowded at all or difficult to find a chair. Supposedly no outside food or drink is permitted unless from the little store right next to where you grab a towel and enter the pool area. Sophie in the store is very fun and kind, go see her regardless! But no one checked our pool bag or the grocery bag our drinks were in that we were carrying in plain sight so I don't think that's enforced much. The biggest con for me is the pool area is right outside the parking garage, and car alarms went off regularly, often for several minutes at a time. At one point, I actually think someone was messing with cars on purpose. But once that was done, we still heard them with regularity. It really took away from the overall vibe. They also changed the hours, I guess because of the change from August to September. That's mildly annoying considering temps were still well into the hundreds, but understandable. The real issue I have is that the change in hours were not posted to the website. We like to get an early start so killing time until 9 was already stretching it for us. We came down at 9 to go in and the sign says it doesn't open until 10. We went into the shop next door and the woman said she came in the day before and the hours had changed. But the website still said 9! We had to kill another hour of time doing nothing close by, where if we had known about the time change, we could have planned appropriately and gone and had breakfast or hung out at another casino a bit further away. They also only had two waitresses walking around that I could see, catering to the entire pool area. We didn't get anything so I'm not deducting anything for that but be aware if poolside service is something you're looking for. It seemed a bit ridiculous and not in line with other pools I've been to where they bring drinks to you. Overall, this is hands down the least crowded pool I've been to yet and we were glad we chose to do a pool day. The music is great, the pool is very large and goes up to 12 ft. We went to a pool club earlier in the day and found out we had to pay to use a chair but Blu Pool has plenty of chairs. No cover if you're staying at Bally's. The best part was the fact that they have a drink with Nerds in it! My favorite candy! Along with cherry vodka and red bull, it was delicious. My ONLY complaint: no hot food. I was craving some French fries bad. After eight days of work it was finally time to hit the pool, but this was going to have to be a fast visit because my flight took off in 3 hours. There was a nice crowd enjoying themselves. I grabbed two towels and started searching for a chair. Luckily I was flying solo because it is easier than if I had an entourage. I was able to grab a chair near the main door. I settled in and laid back. After a few minutes I realized my right ear was hearing the J. Giles Band and my left ear was listening to some Bob Marley. There was a DJ spinning near the bar and he was playing the cool reggae music.I had to laugh because this is Vegas, isn't there a guy to flip the switch to turn off the piped in music. I wanted to tell someone but the unhappy waitresses walking around selling drinks didn't seem to really care, so I ignored my right ear. The pool is old but still fun. There is a bar that is shaded with a nice roof. So if you want to get out of the sun and have some food or drinks it is perfect for that. The chairs are kind of like those very old chairs you would find at a roadside motel pool in the middle of nowhere. The pool towels were also those old school towels with the giant blue racing stripes on them. You know the towels that say, "Steal me and everyone will know!" Maybe they are originals from when this hotel was built? I have no idea but they all served a purpose which was to have 45 minutes of sun, after my long week. As I laid there looking up at the big beautiful sky and very tall palm trees, I thought of escaping to an island paradise. The service was very good and our waitress was very down-to-earth and personable. Drinks were okay -- wish my Bloody Mary had a little more Vodka in it. Go during Happy Hour -- starts at 4:30 PM I believe. $30 for a bucket of 5 American Crafts, your picks. If you want a party pool, this is not it. We came here to Vegas on a whim, and are staying here at Bally's for a week. Between this pool and the pool at Paris, (we're allowed to use both) we like this one better. Less crowded, more chairs, easier access to restrooms. We witnessed a little drama earlier when a customer refused to wear a mask. This is a pretty good pool if you just wanna chill and relax. No music, no rowdy crowd. People are pretty chill and it's kids-friendly too. Plenty of lounge chairs and you still can get drinks at the bar. I kinda wished they renovate it to be a little be more today as it feels like it hasn't changed any bit since day 1. read more

Do not believe the websites which all have this wrong...This pool is not heated and is closed seasonally. BUT they do allow use of the heated pool at Paris next door if you wanna hike. Bally's pool is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY, adult oriented, and by that I mean middle-aged, working class folks. Bad DJ spin on the weekends. Beat up, dirty lounge chairs surround this classic-style pool with something rare for Las Vegas, a deep end. Surrounding grounds are gray and boring, often disorganized and cluttered with trash people leave behind. It is understaffed and often they close the deep end so they don't have to pay extra life guards. Nothing special here. Typical for Vegas, drinks at the pool are pricey, similar prices to the Wynn pool which was surprising. I very much relish my relaxing pool time when visiting Vegas. This is not the place for that. We didn't enjoy ourselves and left early. read more

I was moderately impressed by the Blu Pool at Bally's. You don't have to stay at Bally's to swim at Blu, but there is a cover charge if you're not a guest. Although it was busy, lounge chairs were readily available. This is usually an issue at Vegas pools. They had a DJ, and he was actually playing some decent music that got the swimmers hyped up. The weird thing was that a lot of people there were super social. No, like overly social. It seemed everyone was talking to and/or dancing with each other. Young and (very) old frolicked and splashed around together, but what was the relation here? Well, it turned out if you looked closely, there was a mid 40's couple who were the life of this make-shift pool party. They were talking to and/or flirting and dancing with everyone who came anywhere near them. It was interesting to watch, but I elected to stay at enough of a distance to avoid recruitment. Call me crazy, but for some reason I just wasn't in the mood to hop around and flirt with the old lady staying down the hall that day. More power to those involved though. It made for some good people watching! read more

So the music is top 40 and loud, not my favorite but on a hot Vegas day, with the right people it seems to be just right... The waitresses are super sweet and fast. And the people in the pool, super funny with their beach balls and "dancing". So this place isn't anything like "Wet-Republic" or "Tao Beach" but I think that is exactly why I like it.
