It functions similar to a deli where the food is already made but the quality is much better than the average deli like place. Upon entering, look to your right. Pretty much everything on the menu is on display and if you only know English, everything is written out (including the pricing). Since I wasn't too hungry, grabbed a mini pasta that came with bread. The pasta was yummmmmm. Got the vegetarian option where it was mostly cheese and veggies and by the end, I was doing my mini happy food dance. Other selection of food includes: sandwiches, soups, salads, etc etc. Prices here are pretty reasonable that ranges around 4-12+ EUR. Since water is often charged everywhere, it was quite the delight to see freeeee water offered if you dine in. Free wifi is provided and if you have kids, there are quite a few toys and crayons scattered about to keep them busy. Overall, if you are a tourist and want to eat where the locals eat, swing by here :) vibe of the place is super chill and definitely worth the stop.

Then I realized that everything about 22B was good just because of where it was and what it was. An absolute must for vegetarian or vegans in Antwerp and very easy for those who only speak English. The place is absolutely cosy (so much better than cozy), it is decorated nicely with a variety of table sizes, cool lights and open flow. The absolutely delicious food is made constantly and then put into a case and labeled so you can walk in and see what looks good and take it. They will heat it up for you and deliver it to your table after you pay. The food was scrumptious. Both the Philadelphia (zalm, cream cheese, greens) sandwich and the veggie meatballs in noodles and curry were out of this world and left us wanting another plate of something. We talked to Mark and a nice lady at the front who both helped us out with some recommendations and minor translations and were so helpful and nice. Located in an off-the-beaten path area near the hospital, 22B is a welcome oasis for the health conscious in Antwerp. When I return this summer, 22B is the first place I want to eat at. You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to appreciate this place, but if you are, you will appreciate it even more.

We had coffees, fresh juice, sandwhiches and a quiche. The food was extremely fresh and well-made, I asked the owner to suprise me for the sandwhich and the suprise was pleasant; a pesto spread with fresh parma ham and a warm baguette. No negative points to mention, besides the disappointment that the heavily traffic neighborhood didn't give this place enough attention! Hopefully the diverse group of locals will take advantage of this gem and the owner who uses her ingenuity to keep it running. Will return next time I'm in Antwerp.
