I had several years of un-filed tax returns to catch up on (mostly W-2 income with one year of additional 1099) and we just got everything wrapped up. Randy was very helpful not only in preparing the returns, but also explaining what he was doing and why. He prioritized the returns that were time-sensitive and let me know what additional information I needed to gather to maximize deductions/minimize amounts owed. He even helped with a payroll glitch that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. This was an unprecedented experience for me, so I can't vouch for how his rates compare with other tax professionals, but I can only imagine that the bill for the service was fair. It was an expensive mistake on my part, but I'm very glad I came to ABC to get the issue resolved and will definitely be making a return visit (early) next year for my 2016 returns.

He is incredibly knowledgeable about all of the relevant issues with our taxes including self-employment, military out-of-state residency, child tax credits, etc. The process to submit all of your forms is very easy, and his turnaround time for filing is usually only a day or two. We are very pleased, and will be returning customers year after year.

It is the best money I spend every month. I've now started working with Cheri and Kimber for payroll and managing my employee's w2's. The gist - they are ultra responsive, personable, and good at what they do. I know this because I make a lot of money but don't get crushed every year with taxes. Suzie is always available for a call and encourages me to come into the office for accounting 101 from time to time. If I have an idea to run by her she gives me advice or puts me in touch with the right people. They are great. Use them.

As part of my green card application I was asked by my immigration lawyer to provide the immigration authorities with a letter from a CPA. The letter was about three lines long and required minimal accounting work, which summed up to estimating 2013 annual income based on previous tax return filings. Basically, a work that would take more time to type up than to prepare the "analysis" (which had already been put together by another bookkeeper who had provided Ms. Suzie with the materials and the analysis beforehand). It seemed that Ms. Suzie, too, was well aware of the minuscule amount of work my letter required, since when I asked for an ETA she indicated that the letter could be produced within less than a day. I'm assuming that my question also indicated to Ms. Suzie my pressing need for the letter, as I had also mentioned to her that I was required to submit it as part of my immigration process. Ms. Suzie told me that writing the letter would cost me $500. Yes, you read that right. 500 bucks for three lines and a few minutes worth of work!! At first, I was certain I had misstated to her what the letter should contain and that as a result of that Ms. Suzie may have been under the impression that I had required more work than what was really needed, since surely no one in their right mind would charge so much for such little work. When I called Suzie to inquire about the fee I was faced with a condescending and rude tone that quickly turned into a full on obnoxious and testy attitude when I tried to make sense of her fee (if it was a flat consultation fee, for example, or an hourly charge). Not only did Suzie avoid answering my questions, but she also hissed at me that she "urges" me to "go around and call other CPAs", since she is "sure" that I would get some other firm to write the letter for me for a smaller fee, and that she is "happy" with that. I have no idea why anyone would talk to a client this way, but I sure am not going to give business to this kind of rude customer service. I hope that Suzie's understanding of my immigration status and pressing need for the letter didn't factor into her decision to jack up the price for me. I don't know. But given that she was so reluctant to explain her fee to me I also can't know better. I would like to mention though that I do not know Mr. Wendroff and I have never spoken to him about the fee I was given nor the work I was asking for, so it might be that he was not involved in my request at all. If so, I'm very sorry for giving his business such a bad rating, which is solely based on my awful experience with Ms. Suzie Korth.

I wish there was a lower amount of stars that I could give, like 0 or -5. This is the worst kind…read moreof exploitation out there. They do the same thing to everyone. You just got arrested for a DUI, you are scared of going to jail. They exploit your worst fears and high pressure sell you into $3000-6000 worth of lawyer fees for services that there is NO WAY you get any value out of. FACT: 99% of first time offenders for DUI do NOT do any jail time. Most DUI lawyers will charge around 1500-2500 and it's a very standard practice. They play you these ridiculous videos with FUD and scare tactics and try to convince you to lie about your actual drinking pattern in order to use the pillar technique and get you out of trouble. This is INSANE. They don't go so far as to actually say you need to lie but some direct quotes were "It would be the best situation if..." and feed you full of ideas of what to say. This is ILLEGAL. So, two stories. Both my ex-girlfriend and I got DUI's within a month of each other. First one was hers, she goes to Eugene Ellis ("Mr. DUI") and paid about $2900. He basically tells her to roll over and take the charge or if they are to go to court she is going to have to pay him $18,000!!!!! WTF?? She has already been offered wet reckless by a public defender and they are hoping to get a dry wreckless. My story. I opted for the $3900 plan or whatever I got suckered into. I made 1500 in payments and ended up with a BENCH WARRANT because they NEVER SHOWED UP AT COURT FOR ME. Needless to say I stopped paying them and they continued to try to collect from me even though I told them I was no longer in need of their "services". DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS! There are much more reputable and HONEST lawyers that are out there that will help you with your DUI case if you need it. BUYER BEWARE!!

I made an appointment, no problem. Mrs.DUI was so sweet and found anything in her power to make me feel comfortable. Went in to talk to Eugene and literally spent about 1 1/2 hours talking about the "science of DUI". I'm not there to talk about what he has achieved and all that. I needed a lawyer to listen to my case and see if there was any justice for me. I felt like I was in school listening to a boring lecture, while I try to doodle on paper because it was that pointless! After about a 1 1/2 of his spools about his achievements and such. He listened to what I had to say and doodled in his paper about how to plea my case. It really felt like he didn't care and was just money hungry. He also wasn't straight forward about my case and didn't take my case seriously. He offered me $4400 for a team and said it can be cheaper if I eliminated any team member. For my case It wasn't even that serious and to top it all off Mrs.DUI said I can have a $100 discount because I was vietnamese. what kind of business is that?! and then offered to go to Mr.Ticket across the street to pay some more money to take care of my license.Instead of calling these guys Mr. Ticket and Mr.DUI, they should really be called Mr. Money Hungry and Mr.Rip Off I highly recommend you NOT NOT NOT to go to these guys.

I naturally ran into issues, so I called and scheduled a same-day appointment at H&R Block. Called around 1pm, got an appointment for 5pm, arrived at 4:45pm and was helped right away! 5/5 on timing! Jacquelynn helped me out today and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and felt like she really cared about getting me my max refund. She even gave me tips moving forward and never pressured me into adding things on I didn't need. She was extremely transparent and outlined the pricing from the beginning. While the pricing may seem steep, it's well worth it to get expert advice. Social distancing enforced and business is conducted behind a plastic screen, but everything was pretty effortless and I enjoyed speaking to someone in-person. I was also able to walk here, which was a plus, since parking at the Hub can sometimes be annoying. Would def recommend Jacquelynn and H&R Block anytime. Also, there's another H&R Block on University near 6th so make sure you go to the right one if you schedule online or over the phone!

My assigned tax preparer has ignored both emails and messages sent through the H&R Block website, and she provided two different office addresses -- at neither of which can she be reached by phone. Several calls to office supervisors have resulted in promised return calls that never happened. I worked for this company back in the 1990s and then customer service was a priority. Now it is apparently the very last consideration. Here it is, less than a month before tax day, and I have to find a new tax preparer. I will never consider H&R Block again.
