One or two employees appeared to be there (playing a game with each other and customers, but still very welcoming and attentive to us and our needs) and two other presumably regulars were hanging out, as well. The one person working that evening had no problem getting up and looking for our requests (Tasha's Cauldren of Everything for DnD and Volo's Guide to Monsters) on the floor and in the back room and found it with no issue. He was clearly very knowledgable on all topics, including quickly and accurately speaking to what they had or didn't have in store. In asking his help for this review, my boyfriend described Dragon's Den as "what you might expect from a local gaming shop." While I am not 100% what that means, I guess I get the gist. The store had a wall with some small shelves of board games, a good variety of rulebooks for TTRPGs, miniatures, a small but interesting comic selection, and tables for playing. For those living in the Boone community, there appeared to be a lot of signs and ads right upon entering about upcoming games or events at the shop or in town. I enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back, but I would say this is not a store for people without specific interests in these types of games (aka me) or looking for specific items, as the "other" stuff (i.e., generic board games) is rather limited (which is fine). .

We were given a quote of between $2,500. and $3,500, with free delivery. When the movers got there with the bedroom set the owner said he misjudged the size and now it was going to be $4,400. What were we going to do? The furniture was already there. Then when he had to rent a U-Haul to deliver the furniture he tried to charge us another $200. !!! My husband had to split the U-Haul Very upset at Mr. Tommy Klulz and The Restoration House. He kept apologizing but I notice he didn't adjust the price any. The fossils range from big to small, the crystals of all colors, shapes, and sizes. You could spend hours in this shop checking out everything they have. I love that Village Thrift is run by the local Blowing Rock Women's Club, and all items are sold…read morefor scholarships for local kids. They raised $145,000 in the 2025/2026 season, too--wow! That's even more than my local women's club raised (through donations and fundraising only) for the same period. The store is neatly organized, and the prices are great. The day I stopped in, they were having a half-off sale on their women's clothing, and I was able to find several things that I liked. They also have a variety of housewares, cookware, linens, shoes, and decor. They even have a roomy fitting room to try on clothes. Note that they don't have any men's clothing. All of their items are donated, and many were higher-end brands. I found several Loft and Talbots tops and dresses that I had to purchase. Village Thrift is also fully run by volunteers who are friendly and happy to be there. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in town!

Last year, they gave over $100,000 to about 20 students. The store is staffed by a lovely group of volunteers who take pride in making a difference. They have a wide selection of items from art to clothing, jewelry, and home goods. I found a few cute items and felt good about my purchase as well.
