So I find this place nestled in between some random shops when I couldn't get an appointment at another blow bar. Anyway, I believe everything happens for a reason and being the hair maven that I am, I wanted to see if the 5 star rating was all that it was hyped up to be. First of all, I only had to wait about ten minutes and I was a walk-in on a Friday evening. The owners daughter was very welcoming and sweet and I immediately warmed up to the place. She then offered me a beverage and a few minutes later ushered me to the back of the salon to wash my hair. I LOVE that she asked if I didn't mind a APPLE CIDER VINEGAR rinse as I KNOW that one of the benefits of this is it's a natural clarifying agent. 5 stars just for that and being original! I then meet Diana my stylist who is originally from Canada and felt at ease with her aura so I felt myself relax even more. She asked me what I wanted and as most stylists know when I say VS hair, she smiled and nodded. She employs the brush technique wherein she takes sections of hair and after she blows it out, uses the brushes in lieu of rollers to boost the body. Well most of you know , I'm already quite pleased with stylists who have & OWN a technique and produce works of art. I am very very happy with the experience I had with this salon I cut my hair short for the first time since elementary school . I used to have my hair long. Susan ,she is the owner , was very professional, patient. She did her job for 100% . I love my new haircut!! After going to multiple hair salons in the adventura area for months, only being disappointed with the haircuts, coloring and so forth, I was desperate to find someone who could fix the damage that was done tho my hair. I did research for weeks and came across Blow Salon in Aventura. I decided to come in for a consultation to get extensions considering the damage done to my hair (keep in mind that I have always loved my hair until it got butchered, and I started feeling self conscious because of it). Sharon explained to me the process of what would need to ne come to fix the damage to my hair first, then add the extensions. She saw how desperately I wanted to fix my hair, and she and Amanda decided to squeeze me into their busy schedule! Hair extensions?? Yes. Hair extensions! Sharon (the owner and extensions expert) is an absolute miracle worker (and over the top nice). I was extremely skeptical at first because I have heard many different stories about hair extensions (none of them good)- and just didn't think that it was worth the $$$$. I have seen some of the extensions that have metal clips, I had dallied with clips-ins and the sort. I have been coming to this salon for years when it was on West Dixie Hwy in a small strip center, but only for cuts, color and blow dry. (The color and blow dry are the most reasonable prices you will find in the area.) After seeing so many other clients getting the extensions, and talk about how much they loved them. How fantastic they felt after having them done. How all of the stories that I heard about other extensions did not pertain to Great Lengths at all. Just before my wedding, my hair stylists had told me not to get extensions, and I am sorry that I listened. I had them done for my cousin's wedding- I was feeling down because I was 6 mo. pregnant, and not looking myself- and I was one of the largest bridesmaids in her wedding. Booked an appointment over the phone yesterday. However, after my significant other called today to pay for my visit as a surprise before I got there, they claimed I had no such appointment scheduled. Sharon the owner was very rude to him over the phone, even after he mentioned he was trying to surprise me and pay for the visit. After he told me this I proceeded to call to confirm my appointment and they would not answer. I then got a text saying "Can't talk now". I responded that I was just confirming my appointment time. Sharon, the owner responded saying I needed to come in at that very minute, hours before my scheduled appointment.... I said I was not able to do that. She then sent me the number to one of the other stylists at the salon to call and figure out an appointment. This entire interaction was incredibly unprofessional. Sharon was rude, unaccommodating, and ruined the 1 time I had open this month to get my hair done. Why did they not have my appointment in the books? And why was Sharon unwilling to work with me to get me in around a time that worked, considering it was their fault my appointment wasn't written down? I have been here 3 times prior and have only had my hair done by other stylists there. Sharon the owner is never pleasant, walks around with a scowl on her face, does not greet customers and is clearly not helpful as is evident by our interaction today. She obviously does not care about her customers, nor does she conduct business in a professional manner. I will be finding another salon. read more

I'm always on the search for a good place to get a blow out. This place is close to my house and after reading so many great reviews I decided to give it a try. I had an event on Saturday night so I called a few weeks before to make an appointment. When I showed up on Saturday, they told me I did not have an appointment. I assured them this was a mistake, as I had called a few weeks before and booked it (this isn't my first rodeo). Anyways, the girl was extremely dismissive and made no effort to accommodate me, even though this was the salon's mistake! Her attitude was kind of like "oh well, too bad". Additionally, she showed me the appointment book which was literally a tiny day planner with scribbles all over it (and my name was no where in that mess). I couldn't believe it. Sharon has been doing my hair for years now and anyone who says she is not accommodating or does not care about her clients obviously never was one of her clients. Sharon has stayed way past working hours to take me and she even came in on a Sunday (when they are closed) because I wanted to get my hair done before an event. She has always made time for me and I trust her and her opinion. She will not over sell you and is honest with what she believes will look best and accommodates all budgets.
