Amazing app, stylist was great and my hair looked fabulous, even the next day! Not impressed! I booked the blow and fast nails package as I was going abroad the next day to attend a surprise party. I asked for the 'beach blow'. She first straightened my (long) hair and then used tongs to add the waves. Immediately after the blow dry the curls looked great. The stylist said it should hold well because my hair is naturally curly. When I woke up the next morning my hair was completely straight!! All the curls/waves had gone! The 'fast nails' part of the package was haphazard. I would have expected them to take of my old base coat first before starting but instead she applied another one on top. The girl was sat to my right so when she had to do my left hand I had to turn in an awkward position, she could have just moved to my left. Also, they ask you to choose a colour whilst the stylist is working on your hair so it is difficult to turn your head and look at all the colours. Two of my nails smudged a couple of hours after leaving the salon so overall not a great experience, considering it was for a special occasion. read more

Truly terrible experience, could but have been worse. First, the app usability is just plain awful. It won't recognise my address on the moving map and they don't allow over writes of the address so I just had to leave it in the notes and hope for the best. The hairdresser arrived really late even though she had she had been given the address she was looking on the app's map and not just using my postcode like would normally happen. The blow dry was one of the worst I've ever had, my hair wasn't smooth at the end but frizzy. I might as well have left it to dry naturally. It certainly wasn't worth £40. I called the head office and they weren't interested in my complaint, even though they were 20 mins late (which for a 'convenience' app is unforgivable). I'm still waiting for a manager to call back. read more

Sorry, but this was awful. Lovely, lovely girls but clueless how to dry my - albeit fairly difficult - wavy hair. My own hairdresser makes an amazing job of it but I left the salon disappointed and by the time I was back in my hotel room the curl and what little bounce that had been put in my hair had gone. Next day my hair looked terrible! £45 down the drain. Oh, and because I wasn't given a gown my top was water marked and wet! Would not recommend. read more

I have visited Blow Ltd Covent Garden location on 2 separate occasions. On my first visit I was very pleased with the results, excellent blow dry and makeup. My second visit was a disappointment to say the least. Although I chose exactly the same look as the first time, blow-dry this time was flat, limp, and did not even last through the evening. Stylist did not even use the same technique , while at the same time another lady was getting her hair done in the same look , with the "correct" technique ...?? Now on to makeup : chose the evening makeup , supposedly smoky eye, all I got was an unblended stripe of black shadow on upper lid , the final result did not remotely look like the original . I had to re-do it myself the moment I got back to my hotel Although the service was pleasant and fast , the results are inconsistent, while the company prides itself on providing same service regardless of stylist ( incidentally you cannot book a particular stylist , so it's clearly a bit of a gamble) I appreciate that "fast and affordable" will not get you the same result as 5 hours prepping , however I was expecting quality as advertised. I was hoping Blow Ltd to become my one-stop hair and makeup location whenever I'm in London, but after this experience I will have to re-consider. read more

This WAS fantastic but poor service, a massive price hike (up to £35 from £25) and the super high staff turnover means I'm looking for somewhere else to get my blow dry fix! I love the fact that it's open so early in the morning but it's just poor value for money now. read more

I recently visited the beauty bar in covent garden after it being highly recommend to me by a close friend. I was in need of a blow dry and make over last Friday after work and was so glad i visited the store. The service was great, the stylist who assisted me was very good!! She made my hair look and feel amazing and my make up looked great too. Can't wait to visit the beauty bar again. Highly recommend. read more

I recently visited the covent garden store and received an appalling service from the second I walked in to the second I left the store. I didn't get acknowledged for about 10 minutes until I had to walk up to the staff member blow drying another customers hair and asked if someone could assist me. I was told to sit and wait until a stylist was ready to work on my hair even though I had booked an appointment on line. I was offered a drink and had to wait 30 minutes before I received a glass of water I had ordered. The stylist blow drying my hair straight was appalling, it was such a simple task to blow dry my long hair straight and sleek and she didn't even get a that right. It was frizzy and dry which I had to re-do when I got back to my hotel room. I then waited 20 minutes for my makeup to get started on despite me asking other members of staff how long the makeup artist was going to be as I was booked in 25 minutes prior. My makeup artist started my makeup and rushed the job and even forgot to add mascara to my own lashes, he refused to put my own fake lashes on as said he was running late!!! I really wished I had complained and not wasted £40 for a shockingly bad service but I was so desperate to leave the store I paid and left but I will never come back again and nor would I recommend this to anyone else. read more

I am not reviewing this branch but the mobile service which I think everyone needs to know about. I booked a blow dry and makeup combo ahead of time for a weekday at 6pm as I was attending a swanky Christmas party at a West End Hotel. As per the instructions in the confirmatory email, I washed my hair and left it wet. By 18:06 the stylist did not arrive, so I telephoned customer service who called her, then called me back 2 minues later to tell me that she would be with me in 10 minutes. Expecting her at around18:20 I cancelled the makeup session and was advised that I would be refunded for that portion of the treatment. By 18:25 she still failed to arrive (and did not bother telephoning me). I had to call customer service once again. Kim, who I spoke to called the stylist and called me back a few minutes later to say she was 4 minutes away. 4 minutes came and went with no sign of the stylist. By this time it was 18:37 when I had to call yet again! I was very stressed at this point as my hair was damp and unstyled and I had a cab booked for 19:30! It usually takes me about 45 minutes to blow dry my hair myself! I then had to cancel the appointment as I had absolutely no faith in the stylist showing up. Kim was very apologetic and assured me of a full refund which did take place. In the absence of an accident or medical emergency, there is absolutely no excuse for a a so called professional to behave in such an unprofessional manner. How 4 minutes turned into 40 minutes is beyond me! The stylist should have called me in the first instance. I certainly should not have to waste money on telephone calls to customer service to enquire about her whereabouts. Even though Kim was very apologetic and refunded the money paid, I have no faith in this company at all, certainly not their mobile service. This particular stylist is a very poor reflection of the company and should be fired. What should have been a very special evening for me turned out to be very mediocre as my hair land makeup looked no different to how they normally do. read more

My experience at blow was appalling. As a makeup artist myself, I was shocked when I was told that their makeups only take 20 minutes to do. In my personal opinion, as much as I understand it's an 'express' makeup job, a makeup should not take a simple 20 minutes. You should want your client to receive the attention and the pampering they want to receive for the amount they pay. I thought they were old fashioned, with one of the managers asking why I bother contouring and why I pay careful attention to a base as I was getting a makeup done myself. I thought I'd try them out to see what the hype was about. I believe a good makeup should start with a good base and skin work. I felt they were very disorganised with the mass of trainees working downstairs who appeared clueless and then claim to say they have 'reached their freelance quota' yet they email leading makeup schools asking for more people. Not impressed and I believe you can receive a much better pampering else where. read more
