WORTH THE READ. DO NOT GO HERE!!! My father lived at this…read morecampground. Just to put into perspective the kind of man he was he helped maintain the property (which was of no benefit to himself), cut the grass, weeded when needed, removed poison ivy (even though he was highly allergic and got it in his eyes MULTIPLE times) to help Roxanne out. Roxanne is the "owner" of Taylor's Campground. Chandler is Roxanne's boyfriend. This info is needed in the story, try to follow along... March 15 my father went kayaking and never returned. March 16 my father's body was found at the bottom of Lake Marion. March 17, the first text from Roxanne about the chainsaw and combine. *mind you my fathers body had just been recovered* March 25 my father's service (which she told 4 other people at the service that she needed to find my brother to ask him for her items in person... AT HIS SERVICE!?! insane) March 28 my father's burial. (march 27) My father was not even buried yet when Roxanne again sent another message asking for "her" chainsaw & combine which was inside of my father's camper. My father's belonging are currently being processed in probate court. Roxanne has no proof of purchasing these items that she claims are hers. Instead of handling things the mature and correct way, on the night of my sisters birthday we were in Charleston and Roxanne again messaged my brother basically demanding the chainsaw and combine at this point. Also in the message she goes on about how we had no relationships with our father and that she was going to get his camper towed. Fast forward about 30 minutes and we get a phone call from a fellow neighbor saying Chandler is attempting to break into my father's camper (through the window we had to tape down with duct tape because he broke it- as pictured.) We immediately leave my sisters birthday dinner and rush over there. While we are on the way i went ahead and called Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office and told them everything that had been going on. They were on the way to meet me there. My husband and I are first to arrive at his camper(WITH OUT TWO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 3 WHO HAD TO WITNESS THE WHOLE THING). Roxanne walks up to me and says she's here to get "her" stuff from my father's camper to which i tell her, no you're not, it is in probate court and we are not legally allowed to give you anything without proof of purchase or a bill of sale saying my dad sold it to you, which she does not have. She gets so irritated that she's then tries to tell me my father didn't love me, all he wanted us to have was a grill full of trash, we never had any kind of relationship, and i quote "you didn't even know what he looked like when he died," "d*mn i wish your father was here he'd be so f*cking proud of yall, not" etc... She then proceeds to also call the cops saying we are threatening her, which is false, i have the whole encounter on video but sadly cannot post videos on here. Chandler then proceeds to threaten A FEMALE who was with us saying he'd bash her head until a tree until she was bleeding on the ground. Roxanne is also yelling at me saying it's "f*cked up because you're already taking things from his camper and i can't have what i'm asking for?" first and foremost he was MY FATHER and i took A JACKET AND A T-SHIRT. second, yet again, she has ZERO proof the 2 items are hers. third, we CANNOT LEGALLY give anybody anything until probate is over. best of all fourth, she was going around the campground telling everybody she needed to get in his camper for a wifi router....? she is a liar, a manipulator, and a terrible "business woman" as she calls herself- also on video. No "business woman" and her boyfriend would break into a camper to steal items that did not belong to them, especially from a man who is dead AND NOT EVEN BURIED YET!!!! No "business woman" would sit and scream hateful things about my father in mine and my siblings face. If you want to be treated like shit, get stolen from, cussed out, and then blamed this is definitely the place for you!! To anybody thinking about this place, RUN. FAST AND FAR. For everybody still living in this campground that can see this i am truly sorry everybody had to witness what occurred. It's bad when people witnessed what happened, and then also left days after. I am glad the few people that we could help get out, got out.

The owner Roxanne Taylor, and her boyfriend Chandler threatened to bash my head in off of a tree after busting a window trying to break into his camper before we arrived to steal HIS possessions. Belittled his children and so much more. I highly recommend that you guys stay as far away from this place as humanly possible, as she is a very unstable person and not a professional business owner at all. We did report to the police and proper steps will be taken, but I just wanna give you guys the warning so this same thing does not Happen to you. There are plenty of other campgrounds in the area and they have way more occupants and her actions as a business owner show why. I have attached a picture of the camper window that Roxanne's boyfriend Chandler broke open.

You will not be disappointed! the campground has several bath houses. but be sure to wear flip flops. if you have boat trouble the marine place is on the road to the campground and he is great. he is reasonably priced

If you enjoy swimming, the lake is plenty big enough to accommodate lots of people. Be aware that no lifeguard is available. As in any big campground your sites are very close together. During holidays and weekends in the summer they are going to be crowded so don't expect any privacy. Be sure to keep track of your children since this is a big campground. Even though you are camping there are several good restaurants in the local area such as Chef's Choice, Bell's and the Alpine. The Alpine delivers but you have to register with them by going there first. If you are hankering for a delicious ice cream (soft serve) then check out The Twirl in Eutawville. The campground has a small store for incidental items priced for convenience. If you need more than a bottle of ketchup, there is a IGA grocery store about 7 miles away in Eutawville.

There's a reason there are not many reviews of this place…read more... Because no one wants to really be there. There was an elder woman who would handle all of the receptionist tasks but ended up passing away, leaving the "resort" to the maintenance man (not even being related). ‍. After 3 days of my husband busting his bum trying to assort the lot, maintain the land, as well as, making our honest & new homestead, We received an eviction notice because my cat had escaped out of the house and was such a "terror". FALSE. He is the sweetest kitty ever and just wants attention; never to hurt a soul. But within the short time frame (and I mean SHORT), we were forced to move the next day. We DID NOT do anything wrong. (That needs to be reiterated, considering the abuse on the next lot over and the dog crap never cleaned up.) Bias because the neighbor worked for the facility and I guess we invaded her dog's zip line/running space. Let's just say we weren't exactly greeted as new neighbors should be greeted. So after less than a week living here to be closer to my family, I was thrown an eviction notice because the woman who was beaten to tar, didn't talk to anyone, used to work here and let her husband complain constantly about everything; starting with the camper being perfectly aligned with lot pole. I'll just honestly say, even in terrible situations, I have never been treated this bad for no significant reason while trying to find a decent place to live. We were trying to collect our ducks and get over the other turmoil only for this place to bring us down again. So whatever will be, will be. And we can't try to change others opinions once the fire is fueled; especially by someone else. Sincerely, D P.S. Kitty Kat returned home safely after I went to look for him after being threatened he would go to the pound if caught in one of the property management's traps. My mind and my heart are exhausted and I cannot believe this place has treated us this way after waiting for a spot for 5 months. Maybe things will never be he same for the. Since the elder lady passed away. Maybe we did live up to their and neighbor's standards. In all honesty, I had no idea people in calm Santee would act like this and I've been in the city for 3 years.

We booked a 1 room cottage and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom- which was nice and spacious. The unit was clean and had basic utensils and pots/pans. The master bedroom shower and toilet did not have running water so we used the guest bathroom as the main bathroom - full disclosure- we didn't notify mgt during our stay because we were fine just using the spare. I recommend bringing your own towels as the towels all smelled of mildew. There is a little island just right next to the resort which has goats and chickens on it. You can boat or kayak over and walk on the island. I would not consider this a resort per se, but there were boats for rent and the kayaks were free for guest use. We rented a pontoon and had a great time on the lake. The boat was dated, but ran fine. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The property has a bunch of campers very close together- some better kept than others. Overall the property appeared cluttered with chairs, bicycles and grills. It has a nice view of the water and was mostly quiet during our stay. They are very dog friendly and the management and staff also bring their dogs during the day. All the dogs got along pretty good.

Lots of other activities for kids and adults - walking trails, disc golf course, climbing wall, nature course, dog park, fishing dock, and kayak/sup rentals. The campground is well kept and most sites are great. Beware of the ones that share a driveway if you're going it alone (50/51, 78/79, 124/125, etc). The campground map clearly denotes which ones have shared driveways. Also several sites have a sewer/water/electric hookup right on top of the neighboring site pretty much (119 to 118, for example). Those are not well marked on the map. Firewood at the store is hit or miss, so bring your own if you can. Each site does have a picnic table and fire ring, but the picnic tables are on the older side. Lots of trees all the way around, and there are a few interior sites with concrete pads. Bathhouse and showers are newly renovated and very nicely done. For the adventurous folks, there is also a primitive camping area for tenting on the other side of the overflow parking area behind the RV campground. These have raised tent pads, but no water and electric at the sites. There is also an adjacent group camping area frequently used by the boy scout troops. The campground store is very nice and I always end up spending money on trinkets and souvenirs. If you're going to the Festival of Lights, the shops are right across the street from the campground and very easy to walk to. This makes it super easy to buy ornaments before the shops get crowded and get train tickets before they sell out. 4 stars instead of 5 for just a few drawbacks. One, because football season is rough there. No cable, no TVs anywhere in the park to go watch the games, and digital antenna picks up only the most basic channels. The wi-fi at the campground store is good but only if you're standing in the store. Even a few RV spots away, you'll need a satellite with you to get your favorite football games. Also, some of the camping spots within our group needed a little TLC. The ash in the firepit from the previous guest was all the way up to the rim, leaving us to do the cleanup work. Campground staff was zooming around on their golf carts at way too fast speeds, making us nervous with our kids trying to ride their bikes. For the price we paid, it was very good but not great - a hard packed dirt spot with no cable/wi-fi and a sewer line at our neighboor's back door.
