DO NOT BE FOOLED. The Blossom Shop in Traverse City is a legitimate local florist. However, there is an online company called "The Blossom" that appears to be local but is not--and is a scam. If you are placing an order, make sure you are speaking directly with The Blossom Shop. (The area code is 231) The Blossom significantly overcharges, provides poor delivery service, and has no customer support (based on first-hand experience). This was the second florist I contacted in this area. I spoke with someone in person. Upon the flowers not being delivered, I realized they were sent to someone in Boone, N. C.. The name and phone number were correct of the recipient that should have received the flowers. After calling and discussing the problem, the next day I received an email that due to the shortage of supplies the order would not be able to be delivered and a refund was applied to my card. A 'shortage of supplies' in a florist, Really?? Flowers by Ava and Flowers by Eva did the same thing. Boy there must be a huge shortage of supplies in this area of Michigan. I called the number listed online, specifically ordered 'premium orchid'. Paid top dollar for order and delivery, was never told that my order wasn't available. Instead a cut flower arrangement was delivered in a clear glass vase, not the $141.00 order I placed. Terrible customer service, never called me back. was only offered a 30 percent reduction in the charge, never offered to send original order. Would never consider ordering from them again! read more

To anyone wanting to order flowers from here: I have ordered $155-$200 bouquets of flowers every 6 months from the Blossom Shop for the last 5 years for my girlfriend. Now that we are getting married I naturally sent my girlfriend to the Blossom Shop for our wedding bouquets. My girlfriend went into the store January 20th and spoke with one of the employees there and was promised a call back, she NEVER received a call back. So my girlfriend went back into the store February 3rd and spoke with the owner (Lisa Drouillard). Lisa seemed very helpful and took down all our wedding colors and my girlfriend's information. Once again NO CALL BACK. So BOTH of us went into the store Saturday February 18th and spoke with another employee that explained the owner was off for the weekend and would call us back on MONDAY. Right now is 7pm on Tuesday February 21st with NO CALL BACK! I guess all of the flowers I have purchased over the years and the promises of the staff AND THE OWENER mean NOTHING. ‍ They have made it clear that THEY WANT us to take our business elsewhere. I paid over $90 for a bouquet for mothers day. I got an email that the flowers were delivered but my mom said they never showed up. I couldn't get ahold of the flower shop (no email and no one was answering their phone) so I filed a dispute with my credit card company. The flowers finally showed up today (6 days late). The bouquet was extremely small and not worth the money I spent. I will never purchase flowers from this shop again read more

You know those days of the year you can't forget? Or rather, SHOULDN'T? Birthdays, anniversaries...those kinds? Well, I swear I didn't forget. I had everything planned out. Timing had just gotten...a little tight? It was now the morning of my girl and my 2nd Anniversary, and I had no flowers for the night I was planning. They couldn't be any flowers either, because they aren't what my girl likes. She's very particular. So I drove to Blossom Shop, walked in, stated exactly what I needed, and asked if they could take care of me. They said yes. I was told they could have it done in a little bit, but I still gave them a few hours. Roses and Tiger Lillies with Mint Green accents. Great little glass piece to contain them. I called this place the other day to price some flowers for my sister's wedding. They told me to email them, which I did. They responded that they would contact me the following day when "the florist was in." They had my email and phone number and I didn't hear from them. I responded again to the email, asking if they didn't want my business and this was the response: I was just going through my emails today and I'm sorry we are all booked for Oct 1 Thank you So.....they DON'T want my business. Not happy with the response time, the response itself and the fact that we only need a handful of flowers for this small wedding. You'd think they'd make an effort. I can't imagine 3 small bouquets would be a big deal. I guess it is. read more

Told to call before arriving to assure my order was ready, started calling at 12pm and called every 20 minutes for the next 5 hours and the line was busy every time I tried calling. I showed up and the open sign was off and there was a note on the door that said to call for pick ups, I called again but the line was still busy. I stood outside and waited, someone taking out the trash finally noticed I was waiting. I also payed 80 dollars for a bouquet which I feel was not worth $80 read more

Poor service, argumentative staff who seemed intransigent about their failure to deliver what was requested. The delivered arrangement looked NOTHING like the picture on their website. Okay, possibly a misunderstanding... but another item ordered, and confirmed over the phone, seems to have been equally ignored/disregarded, with an alternative item delivered - without warning or consultation. An offer to collect was FAR too little and far too late for the *50th birthday* of the recipient. When trying to resolve, the petty response was to leave me on hold for 10+ minutes... and I was going to accept the mistake for the sake of resolving the issue, all I wanted was an apology; but it seems they were intent on making the whole debacle worse. Petty and childish antics ensued... picking up the phone and refusing to speak... I could even hear them pick up the phone to see if I was still waiting. Customer service is NON EXISTENT... so to call the behaviour of the staff anything less than childish and puerile would be disingenuous. Shop then sent a member of staff to remove the flowers (from the recipients place of work), in what can be best described as a confrontational manner. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Buyer beware... don't accept a verbal confirmation of anything... get a written confirmation of any specific requests or changes... any if you're unlucky and it isn't what you were expecting, don't expect an apologetic response. read more

The Blossom Shop is by far the best! Moved to Sutton's Bay from Clarkston and were looking for a florist to do my daughters wedding. They did an amazing job and stuck to our budget! The flowers exceeded my expectations and the owner was a mind reader and whole staff friendly! Then I needed 3 vases of flowers just recently and again they were wonderful! Had vases in one day! Highly recommend!!! Oh, did I say...they are 25-30 miles away but sooo worth it! read more

My fiance ordered an arrangement to be sent to me for Valentines Day as a surprise. I received a call from The Blossom Shop asking where my flowers should be delivered to, ruining the surprise from my fiance who is hours away at a military training. I went to pick up my flowers because of the confusion and when I arrived they pulled an arrangement off the shelf, removed the price tag in front of me, bagged it and sent me on my way. I'm appreciative of his sweet gesture, but disappointed by how unprofessional this shop was. Two stars because at least I received an arrangement. read more

If you are looking for a wedding vendor, choose The Blossom Shop! I was 100% satisfied! They set up an appointment for us to come in and order everything we wanted and showed us ribbons and flower colors, they were super accommodating and even wrote names on the flower boxes for each person so we didn't have to figure out who got what the day of our wedding, they communicated with us constantly about it to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it and when it came to the day of, I had issues with almost all of my vendors, but The Blossom Shop did NOT disappoint, they went above and beyond to make sure I got my flowers and even threw in a couple extra boutineers just in case something happened before the wedding because they were closing before my ceremony started. I was so overly thrilled with this vendor and I would choose them 100 times over again! Thank you guys so much for being so kind, helpful and professional every step of the way!:) read more

After surfing the internet for wedding dress stores in Traverse City, I went into the Blossom Shop with the intent to purchase a wedding dress. Upon entering the store a woman greeted me and asked if she could help me find anything. I said wedding gowns. She said she could not help me because she had an appointment coming in, in an hour. I said okay can I at least look at wedding dresses? The woman said No. She was rude and catty towards me. NOWHERE on their website does it say by appointment only. I abruptly left and will NEVER return and I recommend you do the same! read more

This is my go to floral shop! The staff is very sweet and helpful, if you don't know what you're looking for, they're eager to help!
