The first day there my daughter and I stayed with him at the facility for nine hours during this time the nursing assistant came into the room once and this was after I inquired who would be taking care of him. I was told by the RN that the nursing assistant would come into the room every two hours to check if her patients needed any assistance. The man in the room with my husband kept screaming for his diaper to be changed. I returned to the facility the next morning at 9:00am my husband's bed was soiled from his legs draining and his bandages hadn't been changed. The only cover he had on him was a throw that I had brought from home. I was told that he urinated on the floor and soiled his blanket, I had warned the staff that he'd try and get out of bed to go to the restroom, I was also told that he had become combative with the two female staff (not spitting or hitting) but wouldn't follow instructions. A male staff member was called to his room. My husband said the male staff was mean to him with words, to which he told him my circumstance is bad, but I'm still a man. After this he stated the man was nicer. When I asked about his linen being changed and his bandages changed the RN told me wound care, and the nursing assistant would come and take care of him. I was concerned about the lack of attention he was getting and requested hospice to transport him back home. His wounds weren't being taken care of and there was no respite care for me if I was staying with him at the facility, and worried about his care while at home. Administration came to talk to me and asked if he could stay an additional day for them to show the level of care they could provide. I told her in two days the level of care was evident, and I know how mean people can get when a complaint has been filed. I wasn't willing to sacrifice my husband's comfort under the staff's wrath. To solidify my response the RN came into his room fifteen minutes before the EMT arrived to change his bandage. So that was 9:00am to 2:15 pm that his bed was soiled, his bandages on his leg were heavily soiled. I didn't see the nursing assistant at all this day and never met anyone from wound care. When the EMT arrived at 2:30pm they commented on the holes in the wall next to his bed, and his wet bed. I warn anyone thinking about taking family to this facility, they seemed nice, but your loved ones won't get the attention they deserve.

I am deeply disappointed with how this practice handled billing for my son. To provide context: we…read morehad a phone call with one of their therapists to see if they would be a good fit for my son, an initial consultation to determine availability and compatibility. Their schedule did not work for us, so we moved on. That was the end of it, or so I thought. Months later, I began receiving bills for services I was never informed would be charged. My son never received therapy here. We never came in for an in-person appointment. I called and spoke with Rose, who said she would follow up with the therapist and get back to me. I never heard back. When another bill arrived, I called again. Rose then escalated to the office manager and that's where things went completely sideways. The office manager immediately had an attitude and insisted I had come in for an evaluation. I told her clearly: I was never at your West Bloomfield office. This was entirely by phone. Instead of listening, she proceeded to repeat back private, personal information I had shared with the therapist, essentially using sensitive details about my son's situation to try to prove I had been there. That is a serious concern. She then threatened to "pull the cameras" to show I was there. Please do. Because I was never there. I'll be honest, I did raise my voice. After being spoken to with an attitude, having my concerns dismissed, and having my son's private information thrown back at me, I got frustrated. I am human. She then hung up. I am a parent who has been working hard to find the right therapist for my child. I have had many initial phone consultations and have never been charged for one. The lack of transparency about fees, the aggressive response when I raised a legitimate concern, and the handling of sensitive information in that conversation were all completely unacceptable. I will be following up further.

I thought Pediatricians were to be loving, compassionate professionals with driven desire and compassion to provide care for families with comfort and peace of mind. Well you Didn't!!!!!! You should be ashamed of your rudeness and poor bedside manner. Well this reflection unfortunately does make one think about what is Important to This Clinic cause from your actions surely it wasn't to help a Mom in need of medical attention for her toddler!!!
