This place has a fair bit going for it and could be a really nice site if a little money was spent on it. We used Blossom because we knew we would be accepted after 8pm following a late crossing from France and, as it happened, we didn't make it until nearly 11pm. John, (the owner or manager?) was very agreeable, even at that time on a miserable, rain-swept night, and made sure everything was ready for us when we arrived.
On the plus side, apart from the friendly and helpful reception, was the layout of the grounds, with hedges, trees and bushes giving it a somewhat cosy feeling. The price was ok at £15/night with 20% discount for Caravan Club members.
The major disappointment was the ablution block, in real need of a major upgrade. The old 'Potakabin'-type loos were uninviting and the 'gents' were not graced with anything more than hot (showers only) and cold water, no loo rolls, no soap and no hand-driers, warm-air or otherwise.
The roads to the site are a touch narrow at times, particularly if you arrive from an easterly direction, but not a major problem.
There is a local pub only a ten or so minutes walk away that serves food but, having not visited it, the standard cannot be verified.
The M20 is not too far away and there is a constant, if not too loud, hum of traffic noise, particularly in the early hours when there is little other noise to mask it.
Would I use Blossom again? Possibly. read more
