This was hands-down the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. My best friend has terminal cancer and was having a birthday the Monday after Mother's Day. I placed my order on Friday, April 30th for delivery on his birthday on the 11th for his favorite flower, a dozen white Calla Lilies. This order was placed a good 10 days before Mother's Day.
I spent years as a designer in the floral industry, so I understand that sometimes flowers must be substituted. So when Terry contacted me to say they would need to substitute long-stemmed with short, I agreed after first confirming they would double the count since the cost was almost ninety dollars. Terry also mentioned that they had other colors coming in if I was interested and I said they could use their "artistic discretion" (HUGE MISTAKE, THEY HAVE NONE).
So when I hadn't heard from my friend hours after receiving confirmation of the delivery, I had to reach out to my friend to ask if he'd gotten them, basically ruining the impact of receiving an unanticipated flower delivery. He was confused and said he'd received an arrangement with a card that read "Happy Mother's Day, we hope you have a great day". They included the wrong card and strangers were reading mine. So now I'm flat-out annoyed. They stole the impact of my gift and then when I contacted them about it, I was informed that he liked the flowers (like they could read his mind) and since he eventually figured out who it was from they couldn't seem to grasp why I'd be so upset. But see, he has brain cancer and never would've made the connection had I not told him.
Then when he sent me the picture, I lost it. The arrangement was garbage. There was literally no design, not a bow on the vase, no thought at all on a NINETY DOLLAR floral delivery with no express delivery costs. It literally looked like a child crammed various sized stems into a vase and walked away. When I emailed them my outrage first they blamed the "seasonal help" for screwing up the card because they're so busy with mother's day (terrible excuse), and then when I called them out on their garbage arrangement they then said the "designer" delivered it herself and sent me a picture that she supposedly took prior to delivery (which yeah, was garbage, lol). So which is it; the designer or the seasonal help's fault for not checking the card? I could've bought two dozen short lilies and overnighted them in a flat box for half the cost.
This was a simple issue to rectify, as design can be subjective. They could've offered to reimburse the delivery fee, issue me a credit for a future purchase, send a small additional arrangement...no their offer was to either deliver a box of chocolates to him or go back and RETRIEVE THE FLOWERS FROM A DYING MAN!!!! and then issue me a refund. That option was so preposterous it would be funny if it wasn't horrifying.
Being that you can't have sugar when you have cancer (sugar feeds cancer cells), and that the idea of taking back flowers from a dying man was despicable (and I called them that) I told them to keep their chocolates, he'll keep the flowers and I'll write this review. They are terrible floral designers, incompetent business-people, and worst of all, callous humans.
They didn't respond to my last email so in addition to posting this review as I promised, I'll be disputing the charges as well today. I'm also including the glamour shot of the bouquet (or similar elegant design) I paid for, the mess they delivered, and the beautifully designed arrangement I sent to my mom for Mother's Day from a real florist, that was half of what they charged me. And while the lilies are a more costly flower, anyone who works in the industry knows it's the design and delivery the customer is paying for. Otherwise, everyone would do it themselves. As I stated to them directly, they have absolutely no business in an industry where sentiment is the driving factor. Please do not give these people your money. read more
