What rate is he discounting? medicaid? Every insurance plan is different so this sounded very sketchy. It's shocking that the dentist would rather not clean my teeth according to the treatment plan they made for me 'to protect their practice license' when all they had to do was clean my teeth and document the reason for the delay in exam and xray for 1 month. Surely we can find more compassionate responsible dentists than this practice. Stay away.

First, the hygienist, Laurie, who wasn't the one I had made an appointment with, kept me waiting 15 minutes. After she cleaned my teeth, she didn't polish or floss them; nor did she ask me if I wanted a fluoride treatment, which I usually get. Then, a dentist, Dr. Zhang, unfamiliar to me, briefly looked at my teeth and told me I needed "overlays" on a few of my bottom teeth which have been slightly chipped for years. Dr. Zhang did not visually and physically check my face, neck, lips, tongue and throat for any abnormal lumps, red or white patches, or sores. She did not ask me to bite down to evaluate tooth alignment and check for temporomandibular joint disorder or teeth grinding or check the depth of spaces between my teeth and gums to screen for gingivitis or periodontitis. When I asked about my regular dentist, Dr. Wateman, Dr. Zhang told me he no longer worked there. Due to the lack of standard of dental care provided by Newington Family Dental Practice and recent turnover rate of personnel, I would not recommend this practice.

I get scared, and there have been times I have left in the middle of an appointment (as in literally walked out mid procedure) because no one was respecting my mouth of the pain I was in. Elite Dental is NOT a place I would ever feel scared or worried. First of all, they take state insurance, which most places don't. I'm very happy with that. Secondly, everyone is friendly and nice. (Alexia is a wonderful receptionist. She is honestly a peach and a half. You rock). Everyone there makes you feel comfortable. Third, I was not in pain. AT ALL. not for a moment. Dr. James Nguyen is a friendly, professional dentist who cares to make sure you leave with happy, healthy teeth. The last time I was at a dentist was some place in Avon 2 years ago. They had claimed I had 14 cavities and wanted to charge me thousands of dollars for fillings. I did not have money so I wasn't going about to do that. Columbia Dental had also tried telling me I had cavities too and places like those, were trying to get money out of me any way they could. Saying I need a deep cleaning and other things (I swear to god I have really decent teeth. I do not have that many cavities.) Turns out, there are such things as microcavities: beginning, superficial stages of tooth decay that may/may not turn into an actual cavity. They do NOT necessarily need to be filled because if you take care of them, your teeth can get better and remineralize from fluoride. But once you drill and fill a tooth, the damage is done. You will probably have to get it refilled down the line. The point is I only had 1 cavity. I know this because Dr. Nguyen showed me it. This place is not after money. They really are just wonderful, honest people. You don't have to be in pain for a dentist to be doing a good job. I know he cleaned my teeth, and I promise there was not a second I felt pain. Even when he filled my cavity. I did not have novacaine, I did not need to be numbed. It was quick, he was precise, and it was over in a matter of minutes. I am so grateful. I love this place. I love the dentist. THANK YOU.

Buckland Hills Dental, Dr. Kim, (Dr. Chi consulted) and Andre, (office manager) have all lied…read more After Dr Kim refused to fix a partial denture that did not match my teeth (missing teeth) or fit my mouth, I left the denture with them. I did not sign anything or say I would pay for services or materials I couldn't use yet they argued I owed a lab fee of $250 because they can't control what the lab does. They told my credit card company I had the partial and was satisfied. I filed a dispute with proof that it was not true and added they did not make an insurance claim which made no sense if I was satisfied--and filing one would be insurance fraud. A week before the dispute was decided Dr. Kim filed a fraudulent claim for an "oral evaluation," which it wasn't, to enable them to "win" the dispute and keep the $574 I paid in good faith. The oral eval was done and paid months earlier. Beware. A response was posted (on google) by Buckland Dental 9/12/24. Everything they accused me of, or implied, is a lie. Wicked people with a smile. Now I'll take the next step.

On weekends they have a different doctor attending than the regular weekday doctor. It was clean. The wait was a little long 20 min over my appointment but that didn't bother me. They make you feel comfortable, they talk you through the procedure as they do it making sure your fine.
