Sherry's Crab Cakes... their crab Mac and cheese is awesome! Okay I didn't eat all this by myself we all shared. Love the Honeycomb ice cream and hoppers mini donuts. You could eat until you bust! The different tents with all the art was quite a sight to be hold. Such Talent. I will admit I came home with a couple of pieces. Fabulous work some out of my price range and some affordable. They had a band playing and people were enjoying themselves. Pets were welcome. There was a children's area with art and games, there was a Huge VIP tent with comfortable furniture in there. ( it cost extra for VIP) The breeze off the water was great. It was a pretty good crowd people were happy it was great weather. There was Beer and Wine for sale. I noticed a a good amount of police on-site as well as medical so it felt secure.

And those that did offer it were only offering expensive options. Don't get me wrong I'll spend good money on good food but for the prices I'll walk to the local places and have a table and service for the same cost.

The tickets are very reasonably priced. The beer, food, and water was SO well-priced! I was in shock. We had planned to bring our own snacks and drinks but when we realized a craft beer was like $6 and a water $2 we decided to lighten our load and just bring chairs and sunscreen. This festival is a fundraiser for the non-profit Safety Harbor Art & Music Center (SHAMc). 2017 was my first year going and it was so awesome that I really regret not going in the past! My priority band was The Wood Brothers. I was thrilled with Magic Giant and Birds of Chicago and really enjoyed Charlie Mars, Fantastic Negrito, The Mulligan Brothers, Rising Appalachia, and the Caravan of Thieves members who were there. The singer-songwriters (solo artists) all had great voices and lyrics and were really talented. I can't wait for next year! I love discovering new-to-me bands and I hope to see Magic Giant again soon. This band got down into the crowd, had the security barriers removed, and was singing and playing instruments surrounded by all of us. There were little kids, elderly couples, and everyone in between. Really a cool experience and a great way to close out the festival. In addition to great bands, there were chalk artists, a bus mural, circus performers, a kite flying club, and people making giant bubbles. Someone was also selling those inflatable bag things to sit/lay on. They're harder than they look to inflate. This isn't a festival where you can camp, so it isn't plagued by many of the usual festival problems. For one, the restrooms stay usable. Drug use is discrete and mild...you won't have to explain to one of your kids why a woman is convulsing in the middle of a field. You can also come and go during the festival and walk to downtown SH for food if nothing on-site sounds good. Final impression: I hope to never again miss this music festival in paradise.

Three sides of the park were filled with dog vendors, dog adoptions, & dog activities. Mocha Coconut, my hubby, and I were thrilled to see how big it has grown. The event is free and parking is $5. We were not thrilled about paying for parking, but easily found parking in the surrounding neighborhood. We bought Mocha Coconut a brand new Xmas sweatshirt for a dollar. I know right, a dog with a Xmas sweatshirt. Nope, he's not just a dog. They had a lure chase there, a weiner dog tace, costume contest, and Santa pics. You can tell Suncoast Animal Leaugur put so much detail into this event. It is well appreciated. We will definitely be back when it rolls around next year.

The events for the dogs were very very spaced out and I'm happy to contribute some funds but some things for my dog to participate in I did feel a little overpriced. The event itself has a nice meeting and it's very very cute and it's a nice place to be able to have dog kind of get out and be able to be around other dogs. I definitely think I had a little something different in mind when I first went but I do like the cause behind it. I think it would be a little bit nicer if this event had the events to watch for dogs participate in a little bit closer together as in instead of so spread apart because walking around looking at what vendors are trying to Market can only be interesting for so long in my personal opinion.

Base on my friend yesterday experience the long line, I decided to go at the door open. It is good to be the first in the line on the ticket booth and second in the line to receive the lobster. The dinner is including one lobster, sweet corn, potatoes and the butter sauce. Since the lobster is flown in from Maine, its meat has not shrink like you get it from typical grocery store. It has a lot of meat. The lobsters we receive are just steam out of the batch. Since it is just from the sea, you can taste the sea salt. You don't need any butter or any seasoning. It is still steaming hot since it just finished steaming. The event take place at beautiful Kapok. It was pleasantly sit on beautiful dinning hall. The event include a lot vendors. It is great to see them all. So, most importantly is to go on the second day at opening when no line. It is also because the staff know the routine and not as chaos as first day. We were in and out in 1 hours 15 minutes.

There were vendors as well, clothing, decor, food. They ran out of the beer samples at the end, which was the purpose of my visit but I did get there late so that was my fault. They also had live music which was very cool. I expected better options for beer at the beer truck but unfortunately they had limited options. There were several food trucks that had burgers and other options so there was good variety for the burgers. The Slider truck was the winner of the voting and Flying boat won the beer vote but I didn't get a chance to taste their beer.

Pretty good event at a wonderful location, but it wasn't without its missteps…read more This is the second annual Safety Harbor Beer & Burger Throw Down event, so it seems a little odd to me that the event staff was not 100% prepared for the day. So let's start with the bad. First off, I can't think of anything that makes people piss faster than beer, except Mountain Dew, so for there to only be one set of restrooms seemed borderline cruel. There definitely needs to be some portable Johns setup somewhere on site because the lines were really long, especially for the ladies. In the corporate world, we call this a "missed opportunity." Second, not sure how there can be a beer throw down with only 3 craft beer vendors. Crooked Thumb from Safety Harbor was there along with Backdrafts Brewing, who won the beer competition. I couldn't see the name of the 3rd brewery due to the position of their banner, which was covered by folks standing in line. There was also a keg truck selling Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues and Bell's, and because it was the first beer vendor people would see upon entering, they had the longest line all day. That truck and Crooked Thumb were the only vendors that didn't run out of beer by 6 PM. Lastly, someone thought it would be a brilliant fucking idea for the DJ to be 50 paces from the live music stage. So from where we were sitting in the "VIP" tent, it sounded like pure shit. Left ear, pop music. Right ear, live rock cover songs. Absolutely terrible planning. Now for the good. There were only 8 burger vendors setup at the event, and at first I thought it was not going to be enough, but they proved me wrong. They were busy the entire time, and with the corn dog, potato tornado and sausage vendors there, it all worked out really well. I absolutely loved the fact that all of the vendors were offering sliders for $3 in addition to their full-sized burgers. When I'm out a tasting event like this, I crave samples and not full meals. It's a brilliant idea, and I've always wondered why food trucks do not do this at food truck rallies. So kudos to the staff for getting that right. Eats! American Grill won the burger competition, though my favorite was the Frybread burger (Navajo burger) served up by Bilagáana's. Truly unique and new to this region of the U.S. VIP tent staff, Crooked Thumb and Eats! were on point in the hospitality area. Steven kept the guttersnipes out, despite their repeated attempts to get in, Crooked Thumb kept us sufficiently lubricated with their Amber Ale and IPA pours and Eats! kept the burgers steady flowin'. Overall, I really enjoyed the event. The venue was perfect, the weather cooperated and the food and beers were great. Suggestions for next year, separate the DJ from the band, add port-a-potties, throw in some more beer vendors and make sure they bring enough brew to last for the entire event. Maybe even separate the burger vendors from each other too. Having them all in one row caused for confusion as to what lines were going where.
