Nothing is cheap there, but that's fine, but expected better taste. The pastries were not delicious, they were ok, eclairs not tasty at all, and all the pastries are here, very sweet, overwhelming with sugar. And the worst part is- we bought a roll with ham, and the salesperson gave us that roll with his BARE HANDS, no gloves or paper- WE DID NOT EVEN EAT THAT ROLL because of that. Very unhygienic.

When we got to the front, had momentary paralysis with the plethora of artisan breads before us. Which one to select?? After a bit of drooling and indecision, we chose a nice, long baguette, while the young staff behind the counter watched in merriment. They spoke a bit of English and thankfully did not seem annoyed that we slightly held up the line for another minute while we caved in and bought 2 pain du chocolat to turn our simple dinner into a gluttonous feast. After paying for our purchases and walking out the door, my bf looked at me and asked, "Do you think one baguette will be enough?" So we turned around and went back in to buy another one. :O The bread was DELICIOUS. Fresh, crusty, chewy... my bf ate half a loaf before we even made it back to the hotel. Pain du chocolat was good, but the ones from Boulangerie Pichard around the corner were better.
