Prior to going into cap tax I went into h&r block to get a quote on my 2014 return and they said…read morethey could give me 2,300. Which was great, I can use any money I can get back. Then a friend told me about capital tax. She said she knows a guy who works there named David and that they said they could get me more money back legally and all that. So I went into their office. It was really big, clean and professional looking. I was greeted right away and I talked to them for a while. It was like I was their friend and they cared about my return. They quoted me 3,900!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I can't wait to file with them and never going to those big corporate places that pretty much rob you. They are also giving away LG headsets which are pretty expensive. I saw one at the t-mobile store last week for like 70 bucks. It's nice to get even more on top of more money. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family! Thank you so much, see you guys soon!

I found Emily online and saw she had some decent reviews, though few. My initial interactions with Emily were great - she responded to my email request promptly, answered all my concerns, and was great when we met in person. She promised that her team would finish the returns in time for Tax Day and that we would have time to review and approve it. When I didn't hear any updates at all, I grew concerned but I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was their busiest season. But when I didn't hear anything back on Monday (the day BEFORE Tax Day), I followed up. Emailed and got no response so I called and was finally able to get an update that my returns would be sent electronically to review and approve. Waited all day and still didn't get anything so followed up again. After a few back and forth we finally received the returns, reviewed and approved them and asked for an email confirmation that it was submitted. The CPAs I've worked with in the past have always sent an email confirmation or screenshot of the submitted returns to the IRS. We did not get any email confirmation from Emily's team so it made it worried that it wasn't submitted on time, especially since we've been having poor communication from them. When I followed up again, they were quick to ask me for payment for their services. I paid promptly hoping I would get the email confirmation for IRS submittal but still didn't get any confirmation that the returns were sent. I literally just needed a call, text, or email saying it was submitted on time. I followed up AGAIN with another email inquiring and FINALLY they said they submitted it to the IRS but would be emailing it to us shortly for my husband and I to e-sign. We never received the files to e-sign, unsurprisingly. I finally went in person to sign it because the email never came. My husband couldn't sign in person so I asked that they still email it so that my husband could e-sign. Let's just say he still hasn't received the returns to sign. It might not have been as bad if they didn't tell us multiple times they would be sending us something shortly to review or sign. We ended up waiting multiple times for items that were never sent (because it was the day BEFORE it was due). This is a fixable issue. Communcation is key and a quick follow up goes a long way. I don't feel it's the client's responsibility to chase after the CPA who is hired to do a job. It was a bit unprofessional for me. It's not to say I won't work with them again but they really need to improve their communication.

We had remodeled our home in CA and had a ton of write-offs, we added a solar pool system in AZ, etc. etc. Needless to say, our taxes were not the simple slam dunk. After attempting to do our own taxes as I have in the past, I found myself spinning my wheels and knowing that I must be missing vital pieces of information. Enter Emily! She came to our home, listened to our history, took our tax information from the previous year as well as the supporting documents to complete this year's taxes and viola!!!! We received refunds from the IRS, CA, and AZ! She was speedy, thoughtful, and always available when I called with questions. She informed me about so many tax breaks that I knew nothing about. Do yourself a favor and contact Emily for all of your tax needs. Thank you Emily!!

Master Accounting and Tax Service

If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this accountant at all costs…read more My family hired William Mease of Master Accounting and Tax Service to help with my elderly mother's taxes. She is in her 70s, has dementia, and needed a professional who could patiently and competently navigate the process. Instead, we encountered an accountant who was lazy, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional. From the very beginning, Bill failed to read or absorb the information I provided, forcing me to repeat myself multiple times. Rather than listening or problem-solving, he fired back condescending emails filled with attitude. At one point, when pressed for guidance, his response was: "There is nothing further I can do for you. You will need to find a tax preparer that doesn't know what they are doing in order to get the return filed. Good luck!" That's right -- instead of doing his job, he essentially told my family to go hire someone "who doesn't know what they are doing" if we wanted the return completed. What kind of professional speaks to clients like this? This wasn't a one-off slip in tone -- it was a pattern of arrogance, laziness, and outright neglect. Bill showed zero compassion for my mother's condition, no willingness to problem-solve, and no respect for our time or circumstances. He seemed more interested in blaming us than actually providing solutions. An accountant's role is to help clients through complicated situations, not abandon them when things aren't simple. Bill made it clear that he doesn't have the patience, professionalism, or empathy to handle real-world clients with real-world challenges. Prospective clients: take this review as a warning. If you entrust your sensitive financial matters to William Mease, expect rudeness, blame-shifting, and zero accountability. There are plenty of capable, compassionate accountants in Arizona -- do not waste your time or money here. EDIT: I appreciate that Mr. Mease took the time to respond, but notice what he doesn't do: he never denies sending the unprofessional tirades I quoted above, including telling my family to "find a tax preparer that doesn't know what they are doing" and ending with "good luck!" That's because he did say them, in writing, and his response here conveniently sidesteps his own words and tone. Throughout this entire process, my messages to him were cordial and respectful, even as I had to repeat myself multiple times. His replies, on the other hand, were consistently dismissive, combative, and unhelpful. The problem wasn't that he insisted on accurate information -- any competent accountant should. The problem was his failure to communicate, failure to read the documents provided, and his repeated choice to lash out with condescending emails instead of guiding us toward solutions. Professionalism isn't just about refusing to "compromise integrity." It's also about having the patience, empathy, and communication skills to work with clients in difficult situations. Bill demonstrated none of these qualities. His responses showed the emotional intelligence of a toddler -- reactive, defensive, and incapable of constructive dialogue. So yes, I absolutely stand by my original review: if you're looking for a professional who will handle your financial matters with competence and respect, look elsewhere.

I had a nightmare of an experience with a different tax service that wouldn't answer my phone calls…read moreonce I dropped off my tax documents in March and waited until the last minute to file and fired me as a client the day of April 18th even though they promised to file an extension if it was needed...leaving me without my original documents and nothing done the day everything was due. Luckily I had made physical copies before dropping off my documents to that other service and I found these guys on Yelp. Evelyn was very friendly and booked me an appointment right away and offered their help to file an extension and prepare my taxes at a later date. Bill saw me in person hours later to explain everything and what to expect. When he saw how simple my filing was he offered to do it right then and there so it would all be resolved. Despite hitting a few roadblocks with getting all the information needed from me, he patiently helped me figure it all out and ended up getting it all filed. After a horrific experience elsewhere and this office's kind and quick service, I will be returning here in the future. Instead of being insulted and ignored, I was treated with kindness and respect even though I am not a big money account. Bill managed to do in an hour what my last Tax Service couldn't get done in a whole month. Thank you!!!!!

I told her if she rather have me come in after tested positive? She hung up the phone on me. I am now weary of this office's covid policy. *** Updated reply to Lin Rawlinson Lin Chai, I am glad you replied to my post. I am concerned by your reply by below factors: 1. I rescheduled twice with you before I caught Co-VID due to my busy schedule. It was on my 3rd rescheduling when she told me I could not reschedule again. All my rescheduling with the exception of Co-VID was with ample notice (At least 2 weeks out). Concerns: Your clients are very busy people and when you are pompous to tell your client they cannot reschedule, it tells me your office is not customer focused nor you are a friendly office. Additionally, when it comes to public health safety, it raises concerns on your office's ability to provide a clean and safe environment for visiting clients. Requesting 1 day cancel notice from someone who just found out he caught COVID was not only illogical and unconcerning, it was downright irresponsible as an office that opens to the public. 2. Your receptionist was the one who hung up on me when I questioned your office policy on CoVID. Concerns: Placing public health safety for those who visits your office help build trust and shows care and respect to those who visits your office. For the reasons above, I did not choose your office. I was interviewing 2 other CPA offices that were friendly, professional, and understanding. I have since selected one of them. I hope you will review your office professionalism and health and safety protocol, but equally important, the honesty of the people in your office. It takes a lifetime to earn trust, but seconds to lose it.
