For first timers wanting to climb the rope routes, they have to come with a partner and take a free introductory belaying course. The staff are incredibly helpful and pleasant to train with. For people wanting to pay a little less and avoid rope routes, they can opt for the bouldering routes scattered throughout the gym. My favourite is this cave like area, even if I'm usually not experienced enough to get through its routes. This isn't just a place for adults to get fit or hang out with friends. I actually see a lot of young children with their parents. I think rock climbing is an excellent activity that kids naturally take to and it also helps develop their confidence, fitness, problem solving skills and trust of their parents if they're belaying on the roped routes. The prices are fairly high if you only go casually and have no gear. The day pass is $12 + $7 for full equipment rental. However, if you go often, the membership prices are: 1 Month Membership $65 3 Month Membership $175 6 Month Membership $300 12 Month Membership $450 The location is a hassle to get to if you travel by bus.

Every time, the same employee would rush over and tell us to stand up, even though it was obvious we had just fallen, not sitting around. Nowhere in the posted rules does it say you aren't allowed to fall. What made it even more frustrating was that plenty of others were doing way worse, but somehow we were the only ones being singled out. When we spoke to the manager, all they had to say was that it's the employee's job to "interfere when there's something." Like, of course Sherlock -- but maybe focus on actual problems, not people simply falling in a trampoline park. And as if that wasn't enough, the bathrooms were an absolute disgrace -- filthy floors and overall disgusting. Terrible experience! I've been here several times, and likely the last! I'll go in Laval where at least we are respected and not being harassed for stupid reasons!

For an insanely reasonable price my son was able to invite 9 of his friends for pizza and two hours of fun! Flying Squirrel supplied paper plates, plastic cutlery, and napkins. All of the kids had a great time. They were exhausted by the end of the party. I highly recommend Flying Squirrel. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.

Today I signed up for the free three day trial. so I can use three days over the next week. Went right to the weight room and I lifted weights for a while and then ran on the treadmill. It's a great room. So many machines. I don't even know what most of them do. It's a great relaxing atmosphere. I'm going to start going every morning instead of my usual jog along the canal. Oh, and my dad goes every month for a talk they have in one of the rooms with a speaker for mostly retired people. It's great. I've gotten to some of those.

Another thing is that it's very dirty over the place. I would say that there some other options like GLife or Elgin Fitness if you need some new equipment. If you are ok with old machinery then go ahead. The monthly prices range from $45 to $70. Unfortunately, it is very sad about gyms in Ottawa.

I used to go to the Greenboro Community Centre everyday as a child. I'd go to their park, which has…read moreswings, climbing structures, and a small wading pool with sprinklers. I also used to take ballet lessons here and attend youth dances. I visited the Centre a couple of weeks ago to see how much it's changed, and the renovations that have been done in recent years is unbelievable. They still have classes and courses for people of all ages, including day-care for preschoolers, dance and fitness classes, cooking classes, recreational sports, and arts and crafts. Construction is also currently happening to create a really large weight room and fitness centre. I was really happy to find that they still have their Friday youth dances in their gym, even after 10 years. They've even extended the community centre to include a library across the hall, which is operated by the City of Ottawa. The whole building has been renovated to become a really great community resource building. I'd definitely recommend it for parents, but also for anyone looking to take some recreational classes or use their fitness facility.

The courses were organized and well taught. So, I found the people at Dovercourt do their jobs well, and seem to truly give a damn. It is rare to find such character and expertise. I did however get a coffee which looks to be made by Equator beans. Not bad, staff are friendly but there's a lot more inside for you to explore!

They also do training courses like CPR and First Aid, and have specialty classes like Fine Art which is cool. Their facility is a big one, and there's a ton to learn and see, so take your time and soak it all in. I'm a big advocate of checking out their website to see what might be of interest to your fine self. You can get an individual or family membership, and there's a lot of options, so if you get confused, maybe go in for a chat. The FieldHouse Bar and Grill is also a part of the centre and serves up breakfast, lunch dinner and snacks and drinks. There's also a sports shop that sells fitness gear like clothing, tennis rackets and they offer restringing which is helpful. They also have banquet and special event services as well as a massage and physiotherapy clinic! If you're looking to get active or make some new friends, this is an awesome place to check out. The lobby is nice and welcoming and the signage is very helpful to get the guests to where they need to be in the building. The food the catering staff creates is top quality and their event staff must be on point as I've never attended an event where anything went wrong from the venue's perspective. They recently added a temporary extension off the front. I'm not sure what this building houses. It includes an enclosed walkway from the main building to the new temporary building. That walkway is a bit awkwardly placed and makes cab drop-offs and pick-ups somewhat difficult. It's not possible to see the full driveway and getting passed the temporary walkway is a bit of a squeeze in order to get to the cab drop-off/pick-up. But with all new things come a few bumps, so I'm sure they'll figure this out quickly.
