We discovered the typical mall places cannot pierce cartilage so Bodystain was highly recommended. The shop was clean, staff was extremely friendly, professional, and answered all our questions regarding piercings and tattoos. My daughter said it was a pain free process that was fairly fast. The artist was friendly and made her feel quite comfortable. She was also given literature on aftercare instructions. I'm unfamiliar with the tattoos but I'd recommend Bodystain for piercings. If you're a parent or guardian of a minor, save yourself a trip and bring proper identification and a birth certificate of your child. They strictly follow the health code requirements which is a good thing. They also explain some of the risks of piercings. I'm thinking I'll be returning for myself, to get my first ever tattoo. I'm thinking a teeny weeny fork/knife chef tat, in some private area, because I'm cool like that. LOL

I have yet to get work done in a shop that didn't have someone come in and ask:…read more- for a $60 tattoo - for a face tattoo, right now - for a neck tattoo, right now Every time, there's always a walk-in to every parlor I've been to that makes me raise an eyebrow. Red Tree is no different in that regard - and I mean, "that" kind of experience is what I thought tattoo parlors were *before* I ever had a tattoo. I mean, most of the tattoo parlors I saw were in BFE, and often questionable in nature, with some dude looking at porn while talking to you located at one half tattoo parlor-one half smoke shop *cough*Springfield*cough*. The space is clean. The artists are friendly. It's also an art parlor - and I love the work they put on display. They were prepping for a Star Wars themed show coming up soon, so a couple guys were setting up artwork and getting things in order. Toby Gehrlich and I have met a few times in the past - outside of another parlor when we first got introduced, or at a couple shows I'd always catch him at (great taste in music). We chatted over Facebook discussing my tattoo, and I finally nailed down enough cash to get it done. Now, as an amateur artist, tattoo aficionado, I know better than to tell him "he's wrong." I tell him my ideas, he fleshed them out, made recommendations, listened to what I was thinking, and incorporated it. Fuck. Yes. If you have a bad tattoo experience, you simply don't know what you want. You don't know how it works. Or you can't communicate. Come in with your idea. Meet with the artist. (Again - *artist* - they aren't idiots, they know what they're doing, and they'll make GOOD suggestions for YOUR benefit - unless you are a professional, which they'd know - you should listen and heed their advice). The phrase "you get what you pay for" applies. They book up. You'll book for a date a few weeks (or more) out. That's a good thing. Meet with your artist. Give them a down payment. They're worth it, and you'll have a piece of artwork on your body by some of the most talented artists in Columbus (and the world - just look at their body of work, and how many of them travel!)
