I make an appointment 2 weeks prior to the original appointment and not even ask if you were available sooner at your other clinic offices at Forest Hills NY area which you work at. I have ADHD and depression symptoms and you cancelled my appointment 24 minutues later saying i was late and you couldnt see me. I arrived 8 minute late and excused myself. I had medical records to give him and didnt accpet them. I hope he billed my insurance last appointment or this appointment I can have proof of his negligence and unprofessionalism. I was just reading some reviews trashing him because he does not give meds right away and wants you to see him every week. Well, though I kind of didn't like to be "imposed," that is my idea of a wholesome doctor, who not only gives you meds, but also treats your mind problems. If you want just meds and aren't willing to put the therapeutic work to get better, then he is not the doctor for you. I was very annoyed when he took off time of the session when I was late, when he was "late" to my late appointment, or when he charged me when I forgot and didn't show up. Truth is, I was irresponsible and didn't plan appropriate. after some events, I was never late or missed sessions, not I have never again been late to the dentist, my primary care physician, or my current therapist. I'm grateful for the (albeit expensive) lesson, and i know I would not have changed if i had not been uncomfortable. For honesty purposes, after the initial time mismanagement, and not being late for a prolonged period of time, i was late only a couple of times to his therapy, but after he saw i had put the work to not be late, he didn't take time off again. For a period of time I seriously needed medication, but after a while I didn't need it anymore, and felt therapy with him was not making much progress, and that's why I stop seeing him. Wonder why I didn't need the medication? Because of therapy!! In hindsight, Dr. Rubinstein approach was much more healthier than that of Doctors who only do medication management, and whose patients stay under their care for many years just for the drugs. I was medicated for a while, I put the therapeutic hard work, and was released back in the world without needing to take any more meds. Overall, I'm a very happy customer.

The intake was careful and seemed complete. He didn't feel the need to immediately change my medication but he did give me advice about when I should be taking it. One thing about here is that they would not give me a therapist without having a psychiatrist as well, so this is just a review for the psychiatrist. He seems to care about what I need. She then gave me an appointment two weeks from now and that's the best she can do for new patients. I would say it's for people who are mandated by the state, dui, etc Second I repeatedly had issues with people interrupting the session by just walking in for non emergency reasons. Some were apologetic some flat out didn't care. It happened several times. Third I had a peer advocate stalking my phone to talk and check in if I needed to talk if my counselor wasn't available. Which he was so there wasn't a reason to call. Thirdly all the receptionist needs to be fired asap. They falsely told me my insurance would take the lab test for toxicology. I got stuck with a bill and insurance issues due to that earlier in that year, So it was said from whomever the supervisor was at said time that I didn't have to take it every week due to that. Later down in the holidays I was told there is a new lab they had (millennium health) that accepted my insurance for lab, which I really didn't have to do, come to find out the they didn't take it ... again! I spoke with a new "supervisor" she even spoke to them but to no avail. Mind you I'm not mandated to take any test as often I was trying to be nice because they claimed they had to meet a "quota" which isn't even my problem it's theirs Fourthly I get a call less than 24 hours of my appointment stating my insurance wasn't in network when it really just seems they make more money from the lab so because I wasnt an asset I got the boot. I'm getting emails asking me do I want to quit or continue the program when it was blatenly said that my insurance wasn't in network so how can I continue? They ain't worth my money. So now I have to pay for a medical bill, that I didn't even need to take that was once 500 to now 100 to now 60. Clearly they scamming hard. Lastly their bathrooms are disgusting. Literally urine and feces all over the floor and walls. Gross. I came here on my own free will for help with alcohol not to be aggravated.
