!!! I am very disappointed with the service at your barber shop on Sunday at 3:30 PM. I brought my child for a haircut and specifically asked for a taper. However, the barber only cut the bottom part of the hair, then applied mousse and claimed the haircut was done. When I asked why the top wasn't trimmed or blended, insisted we requested a taper, ignoring the incomplete work. Instead of responding professionally, she seemed dismissive, shaking her head repeatedly, and handled my child's hair carelessly--causing a visible dent at the back of his head. The haircut was uneven and poorly blended. Despite being unhappy with the result, I tipped out of courtesy. But after leaving and checking, it was clear the haircut was done improperly. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. A taper haircut shouldn't mean neglecting the rest of the hair or doing careless work. I pulled up Yelp and discovered Blended Craft. It's old school. Old school like, 'welcome, sir - is it your first time? Can I offer you a beer' old school. Yeah. Just like John's on 16th and Wisconsin back home - a beer and a nudie mag as soon as you walk in through the door. The barber chair was leather with contrasting stitching. The armrests were in keeping with the old school vibe with the old fashioned ashtrays built into the armrest that were reminiscent of my Dad's old '70 Dodge Swinger. The back wall dominates your attention with the sneakers. I've always been fond of Jordan's but growing up poor, I couldn't afford it. The back wall showcases these gems in neat rows. This place that differentiates it from the rest are their effort in formulating a culture. They've only been open for 8 months, but they go out of their way to make their customers feel welcome. I've stepped into spots where there was openly hostile and unfriendly. This was the opposite. Vampee lined me up right. As usual, I go for the bald fade as it's easy to maintain. They did the hot towel and straight razor. Vampee's attention to detail was so tight, he made sure that my eyebrows were lined up and blew me away when he trimmed the ear hairs. This please is legit. They take all forms of payment, so those other places and barbers who are trying to avoid the credit card surcharge by demanding cash only, are immediately out of the running if looking for ease of transaction. They even do Zelle and crypto. Long story short, great service, great cut, and great culture. Go here and ask for Vampee. He is incredible with kids, is extremely patient, and is a talented barber. He also has a special pair of clippers that is extremely quiet which is super helpful for really young kids. Came here to get my sons hair fixed after a horrible experience from another barber along Eastern Ave. Savvy picked up the challenge and told us to wait till she finishes up with her client. My son has a long straight black asian hair up to his shoulder but was given a horrible cut by another barber. We originally planned to get him a two block haircut but its not gonna happen now since his hair does not have the lenght due to the horrible first cut. I was a little nervous for my son's appointment because I had no clue what to expect. In the past, I've experienced taking my son to get a haircut here where staff at a different barbershop would stare at us and not say anything at first, which made things awkward. Vampie is my go to guy and he is always happy to see you, welcoming, and takes his time with each cut to make sure it's exactly how you want it. Payment is easy to do via Venmo or the Squire app which is nice so you can make a reservation with your barber in advance with no wait time. My boyfriend went here and got his haircut before but when he went into today a different barber named Ethan completely messed up his entire hair. He had long blonde hair and asked for a 3in trim. Ethan decided to use the number 3 guard for the buzzer and buzzed his hair off! He showed my bf the guard expecting him to know the length but he isn't a barber. He drove 40min and paid $40 just for a shitty buzz. Couldn't even clean up the buzz as there's sections where the hair is longer. I could've buzzed his hair at home for free if that is what he wanted but it wasn't which is why he went to a barber shop. I put some before pics as reference to how his hair was before.
