After a mediocre experience at another barber in November (2019), I just waited until after the holidays. Using Google to find Barbers near me, I figured I'd give Dan a try. His shop was empty when I walked in, but it was cold & rainy that day. He had no issue cutting my hair, asking me tons of questions to get a really good idea of what I wanted. He did a good job of chatting while he worked after finding out I was new to the area. He even used a straight razor to clean up the neckline. It's a great cut & after 2 weeks it's still good with no weird missed spots. It's supposed one of the oldest barber shops in Birmingham. The building is old, the fixtures are old, but in a really cool way that I appreciate. If you're looking for a good cut, come here. If you're looking for a shiny place that cuts hair, gives drinks & encourages Insta or Snap... go elsewhere.

Walk-ins are available but they prefer appointments which can be done online. The convenience of that and being able to pick my barber, Rhegess, was a perk. The shop is located on 3rd Ave so there were many spots for street parking. When I got there, I was immediately taken care of. Rhegess did a great job at giving me the fade I wanted as we had a great time chatting about school and life. He took his time with my hair which I appreciated greatly as I have been with barbers who have not.
