It has WiFi that is always available, and computers if you don't have a device of your own. You can even sit outside on the benches or table to use the WiFi when the weather is nice. This is a bit of a weird one…read more It's a gorgeous space, but the spoke and hub design is a bit inefficient. Tons of staff on hand at multiple desks. Lots of little tables along the curving side walls and it gets a lot of natural light. They have a metal detector walking in, a security guard (who is a super friendly old guy), and they require multiple forms of ID and/or your social security number to use the WiFi. An ID + proof of address (driver's license covers both of these) will get you a 120 day use account, then to get an actual card you need another government photo ID or your social. Tons of conference rooms and small rooms on the side you need a library card to book, but they all have 2-3" gaps in the glass doors as well as similar gaps outside a window on the far side, so while you can do calls in there you can't discuss anything sensitive like you could in a dedicated call booth etc. Conversations can easily be heard walking past.

I think my only complaints are that the comic/manga section is a little too mainstream and pop-ish and the video games are only for "teens!" What a gem. The library is a welcome destination in a very small town with not much to do for a…read moretourist. Alongside the entrance is a bulletin board with town events. Once inside, you face the front desk with always friendly staff. The interior has a cozy, corner reading area, adjacent to the magazines. We're talking upholstered chairs and a fireplace. The other corner has tables for people to get some work done on their own or library computers. Children are welcome, which can be good or bad. Why is it parents allow them to chat in loud, distracting voices? Have the unwritten rules of library etiquette been tossed? A huge plus is the free and speedy wi-fi . In fact, every night after closing, people, including me, parked outside to check their email and whatever.
